I've ordered from here previously, and it has been fairly good, but yesterday was just bad luck or something. It took more than an HOUR for delivery (to be fair, they advised me of this when I placed my order) and then when I got the food...it just tasted greasy. The sesame chicken was lackluster, and so was the house special fried rice. The house special lo mein was excellent though. Maybe I just come here for that? I've been going to this place for 15 years and I have always loved it. String beans in the special fried rice is the one thing I remove.

This was a reliable staple in the Pines/Miramar area for a long time. Their food was consistently good. It's quite clear as another reviewer indicated that there is new ownership and that their quality has fallen off. Chicken is chewy and sauces are watered down and less flavorful and far too much breading. On one hand I wish the old owners the best in their journeys however the new owners would be wise to reverse back to their predecessor's ways of doing things. They should worry less about the decor (70" inch tv on the floor of the dining room waiting to be installed) and more about food quality. Once you lose me, you've lost me. read more

What a let down! After reading reviews we thought it would be a good experience. We ordered a General Tsos chicken with pork fried rice because there's no substitution. We usually get shrimp fried rice. Also crab Rangoon's. The rice has no taste whatsoever. The chicken looks limp and with a runny red sauce. The Rangoon are a thick dough mess overloaded with cream cheese. The egg roll another burnt disappointment. Don't waste your money. Never again. First and last. read more

This Chinese restaurant has been around for so long but for some reason I have yet to try it until recently. So we decided to have a dine in experience. I would usually break down each star but it's one of those reviews where you can't. The decor is very old but everything seems organized. Guess there is no point in updating when most of the service is through delivery. The service was ok. Not very attentive but when you ask for something they do bring it rather quickly. The owner was very nice and seemed to be running the front and back of the restaurant. Now the food. The food was decent. It wasn't bad where I would never come back but it wasn't like 'wow'. I really hate ginger and everything I ordered had ginger in it. That's my fault for not clarifying, knowing that Asians loooove putting ginger in everything. But I am being completely unbiased on that fact. My 3 stars is based on the taste. The food was not bland but it wasn't very flavorful either. I would recommend coming to try this place out. Maybe my tastebuds just crave stronger flavors but for others, it might be great. I do like to support local small businesses, especially one that has been around for 20+ years. read more

Reasonably priced Chinese food - I do!! I love getting their wonton soup for takeout, as well as their chicken pan fried noodles. The noodles are super crunchy and the chicken is tender, the mushrooms give it a robust taste and the sauce is a great mixture of sweet and salty. YUM! The chicken pan fried noodles is a lot so I always take half of it home, unless you share it with someone else. Great, delicious and affordable neighborhood Chinese spot. read more

I have a love / hate relationship with Dragon Gate. I love them as in they are my go-to Chinese food restaurant, hence the reason I have them on speed-dial. I hate them because, they are my go-to Chinese food restaurant, and that has to do with convenience. Their food is just OK. I don't love it. And if I eat it regularly, I remind myself as to why I said the last time, this would be my last time. However, they have the best delivery service I've experienced in awhile. They are super-fast! I never have to wait more than 45 minutes for a delivery no matter the size. And the fact that I can order some soup and spring rolls and have it delivered is the bomb. They know who I am when I call, and me and the delivery guy have now become friends. LOL. read more

After ordering and enjoying this resturant since 1997, I had THE ABSOLUTE WORSE experience with one of the managers after I mistakenly ordered the wrong item and asked for a credit. He was rude, unprofessional, cut me off and spoke to me as if we both were middle school teenagers, or I was his child he was reprimanding, rather than a looooong time customer and a manager wanting to keep a decades long customer. The food here is consistently fresh and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. We order take out at least once a week and we are always happy with our delivery. I was on a serious hunt for Chinese food that taste like New York's style. Sad to say I have been disappointed by south Florida many times until I came across this golden nugget. I came across this Restaraunt by accident , it was a good accident. The food is delicious, ambiance is beautiful, staff was friendly and efficient. Old style american chinese like you grew up with. Super clean, table clothed chinese vibe with nary a siight of a busboy cleaning string beans on a table cloth... (always a good sign) I've had a wide variety of dishes here over the year. Talking bout string beans, we had string beans w garlic sauce, one of the best under the radar dishes they search...and you can add diced pork. We also had the special won ton that's chock full of pork, chicken and wontons in a very flavorful, although slightly salty broth. Great cashew shrimp too. Can't miss here. Fair priced, slightly smaller than gargantuan potions that you get in some places but they use quality ingredients. Very good service, same owners for years. read more

Growing up in Pembroke Pines, my uncle introduced it to my mom and I and once I introduced it to my husband, it became one of our favorites. We love their Cantonese style sweet and sour dishes. Some of our other go-to-orders include their House Special Wonton Soup (full of meats and vegetables), pan-fried noodles (perfect mix of crunch, chewiness, and flavor), Singapore noodles (you can get it mild or hot), fried wontons, and their Roast duck. We love their customer service and when we eat in the restaurant we usually are interested in their daily specials or get recommendations from our server. read more

I had a great family dinner here! We ordered different dishes and were able to use the center of the table to spin the dishes around to each family member! It was a great experience. Great Flavor and great service. This review is based on Catering food for party of about 60 people. Ordering food was smooth and pleasant. Steve who took our order was polite and helpful. After making our order and deposit, we then realized that they were under new owners. We had catered with them a few times and all past experiences were great, but honestly we were nervous finding out that they were under new management. We were wondering if the food going to be the same? We looked up recent reviews and found mixed information, so we just kept our order to find out on our own and give them a chance with these new owners. The order we received on the day of our party was accurate, hot, and on time. So service there was - EXCELLENT. The food for all dishes was tasty and flavorful, so I have to say quality was EXCELLENT. Also a lot of my guests gave me positive feedback - 'seemed better than before'. I have ordered from here many times before but it has been awhile. When I ordered I found out the prices (like everything) had gone up and some items significantly. That would have been OK if the quality was still the same or better. Unfortunately this was not the case. While the price went up the quality has gone down significantly. The rice was so so. The biggest disappointment was the fantail shrimp. They were long skinny strips that were like frozen shrimp and did not even have a dipping sauce. The bathroom was bombed with blocked toilets and the sight would make anyone vomit. I walked 5 min to the nearby Burger King to use their bathroom. The wife and I were shopping and decided we wanted Chinese for lunch. We happened to drive by Dragon Gate and stopped for lunch. I found it odd to find the place completely empty at noon on a Saturday. It should have been a sign, but we just didn't really think about it that much. We ordered and were soon brought our soup, then glanced at each other simultaneously with the first taste. Both bowls were extremely cold (barely lukewarm actually). My wife pushed hers aside with plans to ask the waiter to have them heated, but he never returned to the table. I finally decided to eat mine anyway, but it was completely tasteless. Our waiter then brought our entrees to the table. I had Orange Chicken with fried rice, she had Kung Pao Chicken with white rice. Like the soup, BOTH meals were barely warm! By this time, there was only one other couple in the restaurant, so there's no reason it shouldn't have been served immediately after cooking. We waited a few minutes for the waiter to return, but again, he'd vanished. We finally decided to eat our meals cold, but I then found mine, like the soup, to be completely tasteless. It was so bland, I didn't even know what to try adding to it to add a bit of flavor. I glanced at the wife and after 2-3 bites, she pushed hers aside to join her cold soup. I followed suit and we then waited for the waiter to return, which again, did not happen. I guess he hangs out in the kitchen (?). When the waiter finally came back to the table, he seemed oblivious to the fact we had barely touched our meals and simply asked if we were ready for the check! We then asked for take-out containers and figured we'd take them home, doctor them up to add a bit of flavor and have them for dinner. For the record, we are in our late 60's, are VERY world traveled, have actually been to China and I personally lived in S. E. Asia for 5 years. Chinese food is one of our favorites and we know how it's supposed to taste. After a bit of discussion, we both agreed this was the worst Chinese food we've ever had. The only one worse was actually an AYCE buffet that turned out to be a terrible mistake. To make matters worse, the non-existent service and total lack of concern as to why our meals were barely touched, would most likely make this experience worse than the buffet as far as the overall experience is concerned. Reviews here seem to be all over the map, good and bad, but we will NOT be returning to find out if we just happened to be there on a 'bad day'. read more

The food here is incredibly tasty. I can see why they are rated so highly. I was in a meat mood - I wanted all meat, so I tried their roasted pork and their ribs (appetizers) and were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the house special lo mein to go with my meat (nom nom nom), but I think for future orders, I will stick with the house special fried rice (which my sister ordered). The house special lo mein/rice contains shrimp, beef, egg, pork and chicken - of course the type of meat in these dishes may vary by restaurants.
