I grew up ordering from here as a kid. Came back 25 years later once I heard the owner is the son of the Wo Hop in NYC owner. The food was just as good, if not better than I remember. The prices were great and the portions were large. Our server, Wendy, was fantastic. Super helpful and funny. The food was very good. I will be back!

December 25th, 2023 - Merry Christmas Chinese restaurant style.

We went to South China Restaurant on Christmas Day. Wow, was it busy! The service was outstanding. They were well prepared to handle the crowds of people and all the to-go orders. My Father had his heart set on ordering the egg foo young. The waitress told us they were too busy to make this, so it was not available. My wife and I ordered the mushrooms in garlic sauce. They must have been short on mushrooms because our dish had more pea pods than mushrooms (see photo). Overall, the food and service were fast. The food was tasty and the restaurant ran efficiently. We will go back on a day that it not a holiday to enjoy the food that we are accustomed to at South China Restaurant.

Fried chicken garlic. Cut pieces of chicken breast. Very greasy.

I tried to be spontaneous and try a Chinese restaurant without doing too much research. I really regret it. This place is not authentic at all and they use leftovers from previous days into different dishes. I gave it a shot though and here are my thoughts: There was a section of combination dinners. We thought well we can try more things why not. The complimentary wonton soup and egg drop soup were very good. Then came the deep fried roll and one rib. The rib was nice. The roll however had leftover rib meat inside of it. And only rib meat. It was so dry. Next came the rice. It was so bad. I don't know how you can mess up rice. The flavoring was sweet and the rice was hard. Leftover rice probably from the day before. Finally our entrees. I can't remember the name of the soy sauce looking one. But it was super greasy. Flavor was nice. But I couldn't eat more of it because of the grease. Fried chicken garlic. I messed up and thought I was getting the chicken wings. This was good but again super greasy and sweet. The pieces were chicken breast. But not at all healthy with the sweetness and oil. There are a lot of regulars that come here. This place isn't for me.

If you're looking for Chinese food like you had when you were a kid in Brooklyn then this is the place for you. My wife had tears of joy when she saw the wonton soup with big pieces of pork and soup greens. The hot and sour soup was also standout. We also tried shrimp chow mein, beef with bean sprouts, shrimp with lobster sauce and a Szechuan pork dish. The waitstaff was very attentive and made sure we had what we needed. My wife said the interior looked like the place in Brooklyn her parents took her to. Don't expect anything fancy but you will get authentic Brooklyn Jewish Chinese food as we like to call it.

Haven't been to a Chinese restaurant since moving to Weston area years ago. Found this spot tucked away in Cooper City Strip Mall. Brought back memories of years ago upon entering. What a take out business they have! Hot tea pots on the tables and traditional ambiance and menu with complete meals with soup, egg roll and ice cream at the back of the menu. Waitress really made the experience even better. Great attitude that even pointed us in the right direction of what to order. Vegetarian items in the menu u as well as special orders which made it very appealing. Portions were large and came with fried rice. We will be back!

Order food for take out at lunch time and everything was good. I ordered by phone and the food was ready within 15 min. Service is always friendly and professional. I had the chicken wing special which the wings itself were really crispy and flavorful. The pork fried rice was ok. My coworker order the chicken and vegetable and she said it was made as requested and really good as well. I would order again.

Report number two tonight I started off with incredible vegetable soup and eggroll, and I had a long talk with the waitress and gave her the prescription on how to prepare Boston style shrimp and lobster sauce. I was so happy I've been living here at 38 years and have never ever enjoyed what I got here tonight the ribs are amazing the pork strips. and pork ends are amazing honey. Garlic chicken prepared from scratch fresh tempura this restaurant do not walk run here. It is so good. Five star South China. I'm giving them 10 stars

Gave me the wrong food. I shouldn't have to do their job of checking my food before leaving to ensure it's what I ordered.

The service is good: the young man asked us if we'd like some black vinegar and hot water (he said yes to me, bringing in my tea, when the restaurant had only one other couple): Thanks. I'm wondering if the creator(s) are from northeast China: the fillings, especially the dumplings, are very solid, and the wontons are chubby. An Asian woman is making the dumplings behind the glass window. The small logo on their black plastic tableware is thoughtful and appreciated.

Located off Stirling Road (accessible from both directions), Hong's BBQ sits amongst the various shops that make up the Stirling Place Plaza. If you're here based off your search for food around the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel Hollywood, you've got the same idea as us and this review is for you; Hong's is essentially "around the corner" from the casino and a great option if you want to venture off the resort for some great food. Recommended by a source for reliable eats, we decided to give Hong's BBQ a go before our trip back to Tampa. We found that Hong's BBQ has some great authentic Canto-style Chinese cuisine. Not big by any means (you can't necessarily host a large banquet style gathering here), there is definitely ample seating - mainly suited for parties of 4. We came around 1pm on a Sunday and had no issues being seated - although the restaurant maintained a steady flow of customers in and out of the restaurant. There are a few larger round tables scatter throughout with the typical lazy-susan setup in the center that may accommodate larger parties of 6-8. If you're not interested in dining-in, there is definitely a "butcher's" station/display that is set up toward the back of the dining section. The setup within the restaurant definitely brought back nostalgic memories of Chinatown restaurants and their racks of char-siu, roast duck, pig, and soy chicken hanging under the heating lamps. From here, you can order cuts of the aforementioned meats by weight without the "extras." The menu offered a great variety of Canto-style cuisine; I would argue that it's hard to go wrong with a choice based on their selections they have available. We ordered two noodle soups (roast duck and char siu), along with an order of the beef chow fun, which were all outstanding. Beginning with the noodle soups, you have 3 different noodle options; I opted for the flat rice noodles which I instantly craved upon identifying it as a choice. The noodles were cooked to al-dente perfection that had a good amount of "bounce" while easy to chew. The broth was also on a whole other level that warrants praise in itself. The beef chow fun is also a must - yes, I recognize that this may be considered a "basic" choice, but Hong's BBQ makes this the right way. The service wasn't poor - let's just say that it falls in line with the coveted 3-star Asian restaurant rating (If you know, you know). The servers knew how and when to deliver. All in all, Hong's BBQ is a great place to dine with your family. I would recommend this to anyone in or travelling to this area.

It was empty. But it slowly got more diners, with about 5 tables filled before we left. Service was fine but the waitress who took our order barely spoke English and it was difficult getting answers about items on the menu. Nevertheless, we ordered pan-fried dumplings, the three meat combo plate with roast duck, BBQ roast pork, and crispy pork. We also got a seafood platter with salt and pepper shrimp, squid, and scallops. The latter didn't have much taste. We couldn't even taste any salt and pepper. The dish came on a bed of shredded raw cabbage. There was no rice. When I asked, the server (a different one from the woman who took our order) brought us a small bowl. They had forgotten to put the rice on the plate. (The dish is advertised as being served on a bed of rice.) The meat platter was decent. Although the duck skin needed to be crispier, the pork skin was very crispy. The BBQ roast pork was tasty, boasting a nice char siu flavor. The few strands of Chinese broccoli that was served with the dish was cold, as if it was added from the refrigerator. We enjoyed the pan-fried dumplings. They seemed to be homemade. One appetizer, two entrees, tax, and tip was $66.

While my friend stepped away to look at cards, they were trying to clear her plate while there was more than half her meal left. Even after they asked and we told them not to, they were reaching for the dish. Later in the evening, I bought myself a boba that I was excited to take home - with more than half of my boba left, I returned to my table to them having thrown it away. All of my own & my friend's belongings were still at this table, there was no indication of the table needing to be cleared. I hope they fix this in the future - until then, I won't be supporting the food stands any longer.
