The mattresses had warmers which was a nice touch that we weren't lying down to a cold massage bed. This massage is definitely not for the feint of heart. I asked for the pressure to be hard for the massage because I'm always used to people using less pressure than I want, but this one was borderline painful but exactly what I needed to get the knots out of my neck and shoulders. The massage therapist used her arm like a rolling pin and relentlessly kept kneading. They also use a technique where they're doing a plank using your butt which was a little unique but still felt good. Everyone here was super polite and not really talkative. Pleasantly surprised that both our therapists were Mongolian, which connected the dots for me as to why the name of the business. I haven't met many Mongolian folks in my life. They do tend to use a lot of oil during their massage, so forewarning about that before you go. You'll leave with a little oil residue on your skin. I visited The Now on my birthday for my first ever massage, which came as a gift. I arrived on time, but my massage was started late and then shortened by 15 minutes without anyone letting me know ahead of time. The service was booked as a 25 minute massage, with an added scalp massage as well. It ended up being about 10 minutes total for $100. My partner who booked the massage initially called to check in on the error, and was met with hostility and was told there was video surveillance of me arriving late and also a video of me being told the service was shortened. This is not true, and we obviously would not have called The Now for explanation if that had been the case. I work in customer service and was baffled by The Now's response and failure to take accountability. I later called to speak to management directly and was told a manager would call me back same day. I was never contacted again, and it has been over a week. Lincoln Square is full of so many amazing and independently owned businesses, and The Now has decreased the warmth of this lovely neighborhood with their corporate dishonesty. We have let our friends and neighbors know that this is the case with The Now, and will be pursuing privately owned massage businesses from here on out.

I was faced with accepting the change and staying even though I really wanted to try cupping or leaving and facing a cancellation fee. I felt trapped. The environment itself was fine although I felt like I was snapped out of relaxing a handful of times from people upstairs and doors opening/closing in the hallway. Massage itself was good/decent but inconsistent in some areas. Checkout felt awkward, with a lot of emphasis/pressure around tipping and packages. I was told to just sign so when I did she asked if I tipped and there wasn't a way to go back. I just tipped cash.
