By far the best Chinese food around! Pick up is always ready within 15-20 minutes and delivery is almost always less than an hour. Our favorites are the beef chop suey, steak cantonese, sweet and sour chicken, and the chicken fried rice. The BF and I first went to Dragon Inn on July 14th however, upon arrival there was a note on the door stating the business was on vacation until the 17th of July. We decided on July 24th to return to this business for lunch which was our first mistake because I would have to say it was the worst experience I've ever encountered in my lifetime. We decided that we would dine in which was likely the second mistake because as we approached the table to sit down we were asked not to sit there because something about lunch. I couldn't really make out what was said but I gathered that we needed to go to another table, the lady showed us to a table directly across from the table we wanted to eat at. After about 15 minutes of looking over the menu we decided what we would order. I ordered the Chicken Broccoli with a wide rice noodle and brown gravy and the BF ordered Singapore Shrimp and asked that the wide rice noodle be used instead of the traditional thin Singapore noodle. Basically just the Singapore Shrimp with the wide rice noodle and the Singapore sauce. Although there was no one in the restaurant the middle-age lady was in a bit of a rush when taking our order (I'm assuming she was the mom). The BF continued looking at the menu and decided to add Shrimp Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon to our order. Within a few moments the Shrimp Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon came out, however the Egg Rolls were vegetable and the Crab Rangoon was mediocre at best. The lady never came back to the table so that we could inform her that the Egg Rolls were not the correct order. They started setting up the initial table that we wanted to sit at with a variety of different foods. So I started thinking to myself oh wow they must be expecting a lot of people but again no one was at the restaurant but us and them. Then the unthinkable happened, all of the workers from the kitchen and the lady that was assisting us went to the table and they all had lunch together. My BF and I was just looking at each other because we wanted our food lol, I don't believe we wanted the Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon to be appetizers especially after ordering it after we'd ordered the food nor were we asked. I honestly believe we were too nice during this whole waiting period because I would have normally requested that we leave, especially knowing that Chinese is typically served rather quickly. We ended up waiting just over another 20 minutes for them to finish eating before they went back to the kitchen and our food came out maybe 5 minutes later. My BF immediately informed the lady that his food was incorrect. The Shrimp Singapore was made traditionally instead of with the wide rice noodle like he'd requested. The lady pretty much stated oh this is how it comes and proceeded to walk away. That's when the hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I asked her back to the table and informed her how about we pay for the food that we ate which was the Crab Rangoon due to the Egg Rolls being wrong and we leave. Still standing at our table she turned to start speaking to an older man (maybe her dad) who at this point had sat in front of the cash register. Although we had no idea what was being said her attitude from her tone and body language was visible. When she turned back to us she snatched up my BF plate and said this time we remake and as she walked away she said next time you tell me how you want the food to be made. I stopped her yet again and stated at this point I've had enough of your unprofessional behavior, we're going to leave. Can you bring the check for the crab rangoon? She said but what about your food it's correct, you pay for it. I said I'm not going to pay for it because I'm not going to eat it, it's staying here. She then snatched up my plate, as she walked back to the kitchen she said you waste my food, you never come back. My BF stated if the food was right I would've had no problem eating it and paying for it, but I'm not going to pay for something that I didn't order. So she brings us the check for the crab rangoon and it's 5.45. We typically pay with cards however we wanted to leave the exact amount so my bf told me to stay and he went to the cigar store next door to get change. While he was gone she came back to the table, snatched up the check for 5.45 and replaced it with a check for 8.75 which included the Egg Rolls which she could clearly see we didn't eat. My BF came back with the 5.45 and we left that on the table. As we headed to the door a younger guy (likely her son) said never come back. I said why would we ever come back and there was an exchange of a few other words including foul language. As we walked to the car about four of them came out saying we owed them 3.00 and that they were going to call the police. I advised them to please call the police as I was fully aware that we'd paid for everything we ate. Never going back to this place again would be too soon. I've been ordering from Dragon Inn for the last 6 months or so, but I must have ordered from this place several dozen times. Their sweet n sour chicken is the absolute pinnacle of sweet n sour chicken. The beef fried rice is amazing and the crab rangoons are perfection. I'm so glad I live close to it, they're extremely fast with making food fresh and hot. I can call in an order for 3 or 4 people, get in the car and head over and it's coming out the kitchen hot. We have been customers for years and always had great service along with the food. We're been away about almost 2 yrs as we changed our diet as became plant based. As we slowly figure out what we can eat out we finally figured out we could eat here with the great vegetable selection. The hot sauce is the best ever and is her specialty. Let me start by saying that the food is VERY, VERY good. We've ate at this restaurant several times and have never had a bad experience with the food. Some of the best hot and sour soup we've found in the area and none of the other dishes have ever disappointed us. But, our last two experiences at this restaurant have brought us to a place where it is unlikely we will ever return. One evening we decided we wanted Chinese and we decided to order take out. We had never done that at this restaurant before, so thought we'd try it. We placed the order and were told it would be ready in 45 minutes. We arrive, pay for the food and then wait nearly an hour inside the store. By my count there were at least 8 other orders waiting in the store and two tables waiting to eat in the store and the phone rang non-stop with new orders the whole time we were waiting. Kind of confirms that the food is good. The next day, we were craving Chinese again and decided to do a carry out order again figuring they wouldn't be as busy again. They weren't. We walked in, placed our order and then were told the store had just opened (we placed our order at 12:15 pm) and that it would be 30 minutes before our food would be ready. We had some other things we needed to do, so after discussing it, we decided to have the food delivered. We paid for the delivery and were told it would be an hour before the food would arrive. Being unsure how it could be an hour, stuck with the plan and left. At about 1:20 pm we called because our food had still not arrived. We were told the driver had just left with it and that there were 4 delivery orders and they could not tell me when our food would arrive. The food finally arrived at 1:50 pm. It seems that what's happened with Dragon Inn is that people have discovered the tastiness of the food and they are overwhelmed with their ability to prepare it and have it ready, or delivered, in a reasonable amount of time. My suggestion, if they're not too busy, dine in. We've had good luck in the store, but the night we were there and they were swamped the poor people dining in were not getting good prompt service. If they're busy, I'd find another option. I'd also recommend asking how long for pick up orders before placing or asking for delivery. read more

My husband and I ordered our dinner and had it delivered. My dinner was fantastic! My husbands was not - he ordered the steak kow. The steak chunks were like chewing on rubber. I called to let the restaurant know and was told that the steak was ordered fresh and no one else has called to complain so the steak is fine. She then said what would you like me to do about it? Although the food is really good there..we were very disappointed and felt very violated. We live in rural Minooka, and asked if they delivered out to us. They assured us that they would. When the driver came to deliver, we tipped the driver 3 dollars in cash, and neglected to write zero in the tip amout and total on the credit card slip. Later we came to find out that the restaurant took the liberty to write in $5.00 on the tip line, helping themelves to a total of $8 dollars for a tip. We contacted the owner (a lady) a couple of days later and she was adamant that she knew nothing about it. Then after a short time later she admitted it, saying that we lived so far and the extra tip was justified. She would NOT return the $5.00. This happened in 2009. We have never been back or ordered from them since. It was not the issue of the $5.00 as much as it was the fact that it boiled down to just plain stealing. I hope they have changed their ways...and did not do this to anyone again. It is a shame, because we really loved this place. But we cannot bring ourselves to go back. read more

Food was outstanding! I love Asian cuisine but I am always afraid to try a new Asian restaurant without a recommendation. The previous yelps did it so we decided to try Dragon Inn. We have had excellent Chinese food in San Francisco, New York and Boston. Dragon Inn could compete in any of those cities. Flavors were fantastic. We had the combination tray, ribs were meaty and saucy, delicious. Pork and beef were tender and tasty, the egg rolls made with peanut butter were a very pleasant surprise. Fried shrimp and wontons delicious! I had empress chicken, the chicken was light and crisp the sauce was amazing. I feel compelled to write a review about Dragon Inn because we have ordered here a couple times out of a bit of desperation due to the fact that there are absolutely no good actual sit down chinese restaurants within a 20 mile radius. Dragon Inn is not horrible as fast food chinese places go in this town it has the capability to satisfy your craving for Fried Rice, or Egg Foo Young I will give them that. And I am not knocking the folks that really love it here to each their own , no judgements. But to the owners just because your the only game in town doesn't mean you can overcharge your obviously loyal customers all the while not being very friendly; (actually very unfriendly) Back to food... Meals average to $10-12 per individual selection, we would typically spend $60-70 for 3 of us however if you order something like Chicken Kow it will mostly consist of mostly vegetable and sauce not the meat you choose.(Hint Hint)Don't get the steak its grey and I'm pretty sure it's not steak?! Well not beef steak anyway, I know this kind of thing generally happens at most fast food chinese restaurants so we pretty much don't bat an eyelash towards it. My husband has an iron stomach so nothing seems to bother him, he likes the General Tao Chicken about $11. I have had amazing Chinese Food in China Town, and many little little whole in the wall restaurants in the middle of nowhere all over the United States so those experiences have forever made me expect more out of the Chinese restaurants I try, and they should!
