FINALLY! A good Chinese place in Myrtle Beach! I'm from SoCal, and have eaten many times in Chinatown, where delicious Asian food exists as far as the eye can see. My boyfriend is half Korean, so he knows his Asian food too, and the both of us agree--it's about time Myrtle Beach got some good Asian food. And MAN do they have it here! We got the kung pao chicken, the lemon chicken, and the Hunan beef, just to see how they compare to other places in the area, and those other places can't keep up. Excellent pricing for the serving size you receive (You're gonna have leftovers, trust me!), And the amount of pork in your pork fried rice is way more than the competition will give you. I came here with a very critical eye, and when these guys stepped up to bat, they smashed it clear outta the park, that ball is in the parking lot! 10/10 quality and service, I'm definitely going to be a regular here. This place was a real surprise. From the Egg Drop soup to the Chow Mein to the Pork Fried Rice to the Sweet and Sour Chicken, we were absolutely impressed with the quality of food that we received. Normally, food from Chinese takeout's is abysmal. This is not so from Dragon Pan. It rivals some of the best sit down restaurants that I have eaten at, and I do not mean the slop from Chinese buffets. I take my Chinese food seriously. I have eaten at lots and lots of Chinese restaurants (hence why I'm fat) and I can tell you truthfully that dragon pan is the best chinese food ive ever eaten. The cashier may seem rude, but don't that fool you, she's a multitasking ninja. Just watch her work and see what I mean. Not worth the wait. Incredibly rude service. After we waited over 30 minutes and watched as at least seven other people came in, placed and paid for their orders and then received them and left, we were told to count ourselves lucky that there wasn't a 90 minute wait. The lady at the counter was the rudest service person I have encountered in a long, long time. Her comment to me was in response to my asking if our order had possibly been lost. When our order finally came out after waiting 45 minutes and watching yet another person who waited less time then us leave, she called out my order in front of the entire small restaurant in a very loud voice and said "what did you except time wise?!? All of your items were large portions!" What I expected for the $61.00 I spent on dinner for four was politeness and my order being processed in the actual order it was taken, not when the kitchen felt like it. As to the food, save your money there was well. Egg drop soup was tasteless. My husband who was back at the room and not even privy to the rudeness I encountered said after tasting the soup that it reminded him of a three stooges episode where they ran hot water thru a raw chicken and then served it as soup. No flavor. Just hot water. And he said this BEFORE I even told him about what had happened with the service person at the counter. My son's shrimp diner had five shrimp in it and about pound of cooked onions. He had the dragon and the Phoenix. Thank goodness there was at least a few more pieces of chicken in it than there were shrimp because he is a growing teenage boy. Way overpriced for what we received. Overall, waste of time and money. I have ordered from this restaurant many times but will never be ordering again on account of how rude she was to me. I asked for my order and she was very quick to hang up on me. I called back to ask the total and she lied and gave me a higher number than what it looked like on the menu (+$5.00) and she was still very quick to hang up on me so I called back A THIRD time and asked to speak to the owner. She said "I'm the manager", I told her she was being rude and dishonest and she said "I wasn't trying to be rude". As a customer service employee myself, I advised her that she needs to not hang up on people and to try to be nicer, to which she replied with hanging up on me a third time. On the outside it looks like the tropical American Chinese food place , It is this but a top notch example. It's not overly salty or sugary and it's easy to get healthier versions of many dishes. Not a dine in place really , they have a few seats with sparse but clean decor. I'd recommend calling your order ahead as they are popular. read more

My wife and I tried the Dragon Pan last week for the first time and it was excellent. I would not recommend the DP for a night on the town but if you want take out Chinese food it was delicious. We had the egg drop soup, Moo Si pork and ribs and all of it worth 5 stars. I guarantee you the reader that we will be going back often. I can only hope that DP gets the opportunity to expand and become a sit down restaurant which would make it even more attractive place for dinner. read more

Then when I finally get to order, 38 minutes later, you tell me I am yelling and that you have been slammed for six hours. You being slammed is what every business would be grateful for -- not my problem. This is my favorite place to get Chinese food in Myrtle Beach. The fried wantons are overstuffed and taste great. Its been 7 years since I moved down here from Brooklyn NY and I finally found awesome Chinese food just like back in NY. The attention to detail is phenomenal. Everything I've had is delicious from the egg rolls which are made from scratch to meals like Singapore noodles & Generals Chicken,OUTSTANDING. I found the meats and shrimp dishes to be so fresh, tender and flavorful. I live in Carolina Forest and even my neighbors are talking about how good Dragon Pan is. The entire staff is so accommodating and Annie the owner is always happy to make changes to their dishes for me like adding broccoli to my generals Chicken. I highly recommend this restaurant. And I did not feel particularly welcomed...repeated my order to me, told me the price and sent me on my way. I'll start by saying the General Tso was great! Seemed fresh and meaty - not overlay hard and overlooked. If this is all I ordered, it would be a 5 star. But we got the hot and sour soup - it was the exact opposite. Very little flavor and wasn't good at all. We dumped it and Wasted the 4.75 there. Also got the egg-roll and it was average.
