Little Pigs BBQ at Surfside Beach is a true gem! We're from the North so I've always wanted to try authentic Southern BBQ and this place did not disappoint. I took my son here while we were vacationing in Myrtle beach. He asked for a burger and a corn dog. I ordered a pound of brisket for myself. The food had a smoky aroma that really accentuated all the flavors. The brisket was nice and soft and tender. It really melted in your hands and mouth while you eat it. They were also very generous with their sauce. I ordered 1 sauce on the side and they ended up giving me 5. Whether you're a local or just visiting Myrtle Beach, this spot delivers authentic Carolina barbecue with heart. Would definitely return! read more

Good food! They have a great family deal and lots of combo options. Especially love the baked beans and banana pudding.

I am not an expert on barbecue, but the food was definitely tasty, good quantity, with excellent service.

Not bad at all. Pretty good for SC BBQ. We got a pound family meal with tater salad and hush puppies. 10 mins to close and they were very nice. The Q was tender and Smokey. Obviously wood cooked for a long time. I enjoyed that it wasn't sauced at all. Their sauces on the side were fine but I have Scott's at home. Tater salad was very good. Hush puppies (corn filled) were tasty enough. Buns were just ok. Attention BBQ snobs: they aren't Texas, KC, Lexington, Memphis, etc... go to those places for that. I was hoping for some brisket, but their business is mostly sandwiches- pork and chicken. The flavor was good!

We tried to eat there on Monday, but at 5 minutes to 5pm they told us they only had a little pulled chicken left and they were closing. We looked at the sign which said they were open until 9pm, then at each other, shrugged and left. It would have made sense to turn off the OPEN sign, but it is what it is. I'm still in search of some killer South Carolina BBQ. This wasn't it. FYI...NO BEER HERE. Got 1/2 rack of ribs and lunch special, pulled chicken bbq sandwich w/fries and slaw. 1st the ribs: did you see my pic? No smoke ring. I suspect these are boiled. The rib itself was meaty and had spices on them and served with your choice of a sweet or spicy BBQ sauce. I went sweet. Honestly, a prepackaged cooked rib at the grocery store was better. The sandwich was a dark meat shredded sandwich with light sauce. It was ok. The slaw was way to much mayo. Very soupy. Nothing to write home about. 3 of the 6 fountain drinks on hand were out. I moved to the area nearly a decade ago and have always enjoyed their sandwiches. I usually get pulled pork sandwiches and they are hand chopped to order and are moist and delicious. The first year I've been in the area, I ordered a deep fried turkey for Thanksgiving, it was so delicious I ordered one every year for my family dinners. For the last year or two, we were invited elsewhere and I hadn't ordered one. They always asked me what time for pickup, so I would get it hot from the cooker. This year I ordered my turkey, was asked the pick up time and I said 5 pm. I was shocked to find my turkey ice cold, as it had been refrigerated for hours, or perhaps even days, for all I know. They gave instructions to reheat the turkey with broth and I did follow the instructions, however the meat was dry and my husband asked me when they cooked it. I said, I didn't know, as it was refrigerator cold when I picked it up. They insisted I pay cash and charged me tax for a 12 lb turkey, they charged me just under $50 for. Next year, I will buy sliced turkey from Lowes Foods or Publix from the deli counter. I will return for their pulled pork sandwiches, but never again will I get a Thanksgiving turkey there. read more

Had high expectations for this place but was let down! The Mac and cheese was flavorless and I couldn't find any cheese. The ribs were cooked well but barely had any barbecue sauce on them - they gave us a drizzle and didn't put any on the side. The coleslaw had way too much Mayo. I stopped for the lunch special today. I got the hot bbq, with rice and stew, fried okra and a drink for under 9 dollars. This place successfully combines a good price with excellent food. They have a lunch special during the weekend days and is so worth it! There bbq chicken and bbq pulled pork is amazing! They have different variety of sauces to go with it and they are great! My family loved the pull pork sandwiches. There is a large selection of sides. Good banana pudding with fresh bananas, homemade Mac&cheese (w/black pepper). The restaurant is not fancy but the best bar-b-que places never are. Good value. read more

Ate at the surfside location based on other reviews. Ordered a lunch combo which includes a pulled port sandwich, 2 sides, and a drink for under 8 dollars. Ordered the sandwich plain as they have all of their sauces available on the side. The potato salad was mayo/mustard based and very good. The fried ocra was fresh and also very good. Pork was tender and the coleslaw added a nice touch. Would recommend the vinegar sauce or Dave's secret sauce if you like a little zing. Would definitely eat here again. Amazing bar-b-q! And I'm from North Carolina, bbq capital of the south! This is how bbq should be served... not drowning in vinegar or other strong sauces, but cooked over hickory chips so that the flavor of the pork can come through! This is now one of our top 3 places to eat at the beach... the third has yet to be discovered. The fries were perfect as was the fried okra. Was very disappointed in the quality and quantity for the price. My wife and I decided to have dinner on Wed. evening at this recommend restaurant. We went in at about 7:40 and the staff stated they were in the process of closing for the day. Hints we should have left then but they stated it was ok and we could go ahead order. Anything that would be fried would be unavailable due to the fryer had already been shut down for the evening. So we made choices for our sides that would not require deep frying. DO NOT ORDER... the soupy coleslaw! That has to be some of the worst slaw I've every put in my mouth. The barbecue had a lot to desire drenched in sauce and the bun that substituted the hush puppies was either toasted hard or had been left out to long. I suppose I'm spoiled to good old Texas and Lexington N.C. style of real barbecue. Note, if the kitchen is closed at 7:30 hang the sign and go home! read more

This place is in a strip mall but don't let that bother you. The pulled pork is outstanding! Tons of sides too. The homemade Mac and cheese is very good. I tried the deep fried corn which was great. This was my first time at this location and sadly I'm pretty disappointed. I have eaten at the other M.B. location, and though not great, it was better than what I had this time. The pulled pork was bland. It was tender but had no flavor. The sauces were nothing special. I also think their prices were too high for the amount of food we received. I do want to point out that the restaurant was very neat and clean. The staff was very friendly and quick. Hopefully I just happened to visit on an "off" day. read more
