It had a bit of a caramelized sugar flavor reminiscent of waffles with syrup. The spicy oil splashed noodles, one of the noodle dishes on the menu, was generally lacking: some nice toppings, but not much flavor. Overall, this is a nice little place that seems to be fairly well run. I suggest going for the dim sum and giving up on expectations for anything on the menu that isn't dim sum. Our server did bring us more sauce which helped. On one visit, my daughter had the chicken with broccoli and said it was the best chicken with broccoli she had ever had. The portion size was great, the broccoli crisp and the chicken really tender. Overall, despite being a "boring" dish, it was quite tasty. One of my favorites is the mapo tofu with pork. Packed with spice and flavor. When it is brought to the table, it is served on a pot with a flame to keep it warm. I do wish they gave you more rice. The portion is tiny and ordering extra is an additional $2. But other than that, I highly recommend a visit here! While the container initially looked small, the food ended up filling a fairly large bowl once plated. My dish was good. The chicken was moist and juicy, and I appreciated the generous amount of broccoli and bell pepper. The sauce had good flavor, and I even picked out some lemongrass stalks deeper in the dish, but I did not find it spicy at all. My wife really enjoyed her lo mein. She mentioned that while it costs a couple of dollars more than similar places, she feels it is worth it because the food tastes fresher. Our meals which i described in my pictures were amazing!! First time I have ever had a noodle or rice dish come out of the kitchen as hot (temp wise) as these - right out of the pan. The spice levels we ordered 5 & 6 were perfect for our taste. ( this is on a scale ot 1-10) Our group of 4 had an assortment of Pork (not pictured) chicken & shrimp in our dishes & all were cooked to perfection. We ended our dinner with a piece of traditional Burmese dessert- which was served warm. Not overly sweet & a nice way to end a delicious meal. We will definitely be back to try many more dishes.
