I love this place!!!! Let me start by saying I have been out of touch with my fitness for a few months now and battling some weight loss and depression because of it, and this place has kicked me back into feeling great again. I stumbled across Dragonfly on Groupon when I was looking for something local to try out. I called and setup my online portal, and they promptly activated my voucher. From the moment I walked in for my first class, Karina at the front desk greeted me with a smile and was very helpful with all of my questions, getting my spin shoes etc. They do not treat Groupon customers like second hand citizens like other fitness organisations, and all of the instructors are motivated and genuinely nice people. I have to mention the beautiful facility and the fact they offer changing rooms, lockers, a restroom and a filtered water machine. This is fantastic for a boutique gym as most places do not offer all of this. Parking is easy at Citibank across the road, they give you a decal for your car free of charge. I cannot think of a better way to have started my only Friday the 13th of 2016 off than at Colin's (DFLY + Yoga class) = MAGIC! I've been wanting to check this studio out for quite sometime and haven't made my way in. I drive pass it at least 5 days a week and always tell myself I'll be up for the 6A class, only to not make it in. It may have been their Instructor highlight on IG that got me in this week. I found Colin's bio very interesting, while feeling confident he'd provide a solid ride since he's taught over 4,000 classes. I told myself I'd be in this week to take his class and sure enough I made it happen. Not being into Yoga at all, I was a bit skeptical about how today's class would go, but it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Coming down off of a Cycle high and getting right into our Meditation and breathing techniques hooked me HARD! I can't speak to any other combo here, since this was my very first day but I would highly recommend you come in for this class. I can't wait to go back. They do offer towel service but not to ClassPass participants which you will want to know if you're booking in that route which I was. I asked for a towel for today since I did not know and hadn't brought my own which wasn't an issue. They also do not currently have a water filtration system for filling up reusable bottles, so I needed to purchase a Smart Water. Bring your bottle with water in it! Parking was simple. I parked for free in back but I did walk around the block and through the gas station which was a little odd because I couldn't locate a rear entrance. All in all, the cycle+yoga (meditation) combo was absolute perfection, really if I'm being completely honest it was the yoga aspect that completely sealed the deal for me. I did ask if there are yoga classes offered by Colin but currently there are not, although they do offer a Yin class. Looking forward to coming back and happy to know there are some decent spin studios in the neighborhood. When you're use to only really spinning at Soul and Flywheel sometimes you can be a bit particular about where you spend your time. Glad this wasn't a wasted morning. I am so excited for an awesome cycling studio to come to the valley! I was among the few guests invited to check this incredible place out prior to start of business. I love the vibe!! Wow and the instructor lineup is really impressive. The ambiance gets you super motivated and the arm and leg balance is a plus. I can't wait for them to officially open so that I can write up a follow up review as I'm sure it is going to be that much better. I was able to give this place another shot. Thanks to the owner, Jessica, who is very passionate about the studio, wanted to make sure that I was happy and invited me back to take her class. 2nd time was the charm. I went back with an open mind. I got there about 15 minutes before class started. It was already a huge difference. Jessica checked everyone in, and since I didn't have cycling shoes, she helped get my bike set up with cages, and set it appropriately for me. I went to the bathroom which has lockers for everyone. In the locker room, there are changing rooms. Bring your own water bottles! She has a water fountain so you can refill your bottle, and she sells some in the front. We all got in the room, and already the vibe was completely different than my first time. The music was great, and we hadn't even started. They way she set the mood before even beginning to ride really set the tone for the whole hour. We started, and we rode our asses off. It felt so good to ride again, and enjoy it. She made us push ourselves, and really worked our *sses off! When we finished I was drenched in sweat and felt so fracking unbelievable. The lighting, the music, the vibe, Jessica. Everything was just right. Afterwards she took us into "The Garage" where we did 15 minutes of Abs and a stretch. I left there so happy. And I'm so grateful that Jessica gave me a second chance to come back and really have a great experience at DragonFly. She really does care about her studio and wants to make sure that everyone who rides has a wonderful experience and nothing less. Will definitely be trying the 14 day deal that she has. TRY IT. Love my circuit training classes with Steele! The circuit class, tabata and tone, and butts and guts will get you motivated and moving! Steele is extremely dedicated to each person in her classes and makes you feel confident in your workouts. The owner and other employees are also extremely kind and welcoming at each visit. Wow... Just took a class via class pass. Everything seemed fine ..checked in was.asked.if.i needed.shoes...the class was good. Then as I was putting on my shoes after to leave and a rude and abrasive blonde lady came up to me asking if I was kimberly .. then proceeded to tell me I owed her 3 dollars for shoes and all the ways I could pay..as if I had done something wrong. I wasn't asked to pay for shoes also I have never had to pay for shoes at any of the cycling classes I have taken in the past. And when we asked her snapped at us saying it's not class passes decision. Seriously way to lose business right at the end. I enjoyed the class but whoever that woman is needs training and customer service. And you also need to train your staff better that if shoes require a fee they should ask for it when they give you the shoes not make you feel like you stole something in the end cuz that's extremely rude. Dragonfly is a workout place like no other. First, it give you so many different workout options - of course there is the spin classes, but there is a garage in the back that has a bunch of different classes including weight training, HIIT, TRX and even Yoga. Second, the instructors are not just educated but they actually want to see you succeed. Very quickly into me going regularly, they knew my name and started coming to talk and see how I was doing. It became a community for me that made it exciting to walk into every time I had to workout. Background on me - I had 4 surgeries in 3 years and had not worked out in quite some time. So deciding to start working out again was a challenge in itself, let alone finding the right place to do it. But as soon as I met Jessica, the owner, I knew I had found my studio. Every time I walked in she would come and give me a hug and ask how my journey was going. And every class is geared to all levels of fitness - from when I just started or felt sore all the way to when I could easily keep up with everything the instructor was doing. Fast forward a year now and my fitness journey has been a little rocky. But Dragonfly understands and even has many different "Challenges" to try and help. Currently I am a part of the 8-week transformation challenge which includes Personal Training, Spin and even a Nutrition plan. Working out with Gayle has kept me motivated to the point that I am seeing massive results. And it doesn't hurt that she is awesome and is fun to be around for the entire hour she is kicking my butt. Come for the fitness, stay for the community. I ended up at Dragonfly for my first spin class ever when I found a good deal on Groupon. That was almost six years ago, and it just keeps getting better! Jess has done an incredible job turning her studio into a community that has become a huge part of my life. I even had my entire bridal party spin with me at DFLY the day before my wedding! They have also developed a seriously impressive strength training program. We just finished a month long challenge at DFLY, and classes with every instructor were consistently energetic, butt-kicking, motivating, and just plain fun. Instructors take the time to get to know you, so you're not just a bike number or circuit station but a member of the community riding, training (and laughing). I do work in the valley, but I don't live anywhere near DFLY - it has become such a special place for me that no other studios compare! I loveeee these guys they are amazing!! Every single instructor has the best music and different style but equally challenging! I missed spin so much since my gym has been closed but this place has been a godsend! It can be pricey but most spin studios are and they are actually quite cheaper compared to other ones. Also Jess has incorporated the headphones for a silent spin vibe which makes sense for the neighbors and restaurants nearby. I was visiting the LA area for a short time but decided I needed to try this unique privately owned cycle studio. I lucked out because when I signed up for the class I didn't realize it was being taught by THE OWNER!! She was an amazing coach! I am a novice spinner and I was a bit nervous to take a class in The LA area but I definitely picked the right studio. Not only did the owner/coach help me make sure my bike was right for me and rent me the right size shoes, everyone in the class seem to want to help me. The energy in the class was amazing. It's too bad I don't live in this area or else I think I may become a regular at spinning. Wow talk about motivating! I've taken both Jessica and Gayle's spin classes. There is something very empowering about this studio. You get this sense of female empowerment and passionate estrogen in the air...lol. They definitely push you hard in their classes and that is what I like the most. Its a simple ride, you won't be jumping up and down much or there isn't much upper body exercises, but you will be drenched in sweat! Also, I love Jessica's Wednesday night music selection. Every ride is electrifying! The owner, Jessica and her team of teachers are energized, motivating and passionate about every ride. I was on a workout break because of a recurring injury. But during my "better knee days" I found Dragon Fly and WOW! Jessica was funny, energized and motivating. I've brought friends/colleagues and told people about it every chance i get, as if i was a paid advertiser but i do it because I love Dragon Fly so much. I only wish I lived close enough to go more frequently. My personal favorite is the 80s theme ride. I've gone to a few spin classes in West LA, Downtown and the Valley and this place is nice, clean and most importantly, it cuts out the LA FLUFF and focuses on the quality of the ride and every client. So you've been trying to find a good intense workout? You're lazy to do the research and find the right and most affordable place for you? Well Dragonfly is your new place! Try the first class for $10. Buy the Groupon package of 10 classes for $65. And you're good for a month. You'll probably be coming back for the other packages they offer to members, but this is best way to go for us newbies. Scheduling is key though, so definitely schedule ahead, try a few trainers and see which days will work best for you! Don't forget to cancel 24 hours ahead, or you'll get the nasty late fee! I've done 3 classes, in one week, with two different trainers and have definitely gotten a feel for the class and instructors. Kelly and Gayle are awesome and will help you out through class to improve your posture and of course strap you in. Bring a big water bottle and enjoy the burn! I had a poor experience the last I went and will not go back, after going here several times and being satisfied in my previous experiences. My last visit my bike got funky towards the end of the class, sounded like a bolt came loose. It was a particularly active ride with push ups and arms, side to sides, etc... If I didn't go too fast the bike was fine, otherwise it was noisy and distracting. I did not get as good as work out as I should have considering your spending $30 a Class. I informed the person at the desk, who I believe to be the owner. Her response showed no concern for my experience. She said, "Oh. Everyone loves that bike. No ones complained about it. It's lots of people's favorite bike." I said, "well maybe that's the reason." She then told me her tech would be there next week. Her tone and her posture showed no concern for her patron. It was disappointing. I've been going in there off and on for several months since it's the closest cycling spot next to my bf's. So since my business was not important I took it to Blazing Saddles (no, I'm not an owner or have any interest in their company. I thought I'd clear that up since her responses to most negative Yelp reviews suggest this.) and have really enjoyed my experience there so much I've gone three times a week. And they have their own parking lot! Nothing but friendly instructors who take the "community" idea to heart. I guess I should be thanking her or I would have never tried them! read more

Never in my life did i think I would enjoy something like this. Maybe it's because I saw the people at my gym not really getting an EXPERIENCE... These classes havnt just been good for my body but they have been good for my life... it's not just an exercise or a workout... it's a full package. I've had classes from Jess and Gayle and sometimes I walk in with day to day stress and issues and they somehow make them go away. DFLY is amazing... it's like having a personal trainer and a therapist and a DJ all in one.. I highly recommend anyone who enjoys these classes coming here vs a chain or something... these teachers/instructors/friends... whatever you want to call them... will get to know you on a personal level and actually care about you. This review is well overdue and I'm sorry for that, as everyone needs to know how amazing this studio is! I have been going to Dragonfly over an 18 month period (with a 5-6 month hiatus in the middle). From the beginning I was impressed by the cleanliness of the studio, the professionalism of the staff, the care the owner took and still takes to know all who pass through the front doors (shout out to Jessica), and the intensity of the workouts you will get (with correlating sweat)! From when I started to now they have grown from a spin centric studio, to incorporating TRX, yoga, stretch, circuit training classes, etc in the "garage" area (don't let the name fool you, it is just as pristine as the rest of the studio). Jessica is constantly finding ways to reinvent our ideals on fitness along with her first class staff (individuals with top skill set and passion). Dragonfly is not just a place to get a sweat in, but a supportive community for the mind and body! One of my friends dragged me here for a Disney themed ride in June, and I am glad that she did! Although, at first, it was the hardest workout of my life, I soon became addicted to it. I started by going to one class with a friend and after doing a couple classes with the owner Jess I became hooked. I really feel like I get a personal workout when I take her class, even though I'm one of 35. Not only does she help motivate you through the workout but she helps motivate you through your everyday life and awareness with her inspirational words. Dragonfly Cycling is the creme de la creme. The rides, the music, the space, the experience are perfection. So like so many others, I was crushed when gyms and studios were forced to shut their doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Although Dragonfly successfully navigated to a virtual space, month after month I had been waiting with bated breath for the studio to be given the green light for in-person cycling and secretly hoping someone would figure out how to safely move classes outside in the meantime. And then Jessica Lewis and her team at Dragonfly cracked the code and created a fantastic outdoor space! Outside spin (and circuit training) classes at Dragonfly are the answer to your workout-during-this-wacky-pandemic dreams. The area behind the studio is sectioned off and private. There are only 19 bikes and each bike resides in the middle of a large painted (and numbered) square so that you are assured the same safe distance from your neighbors each and every time. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing it is to be able to safely experience spin classes outside (especially given how much time we are all spending indoors right now)! The sense of freedom - not to mention endorphin rush - is exhilarating. Thank you Jess and the Dragonfly Team for being a beacon of light in this murky pandemic tunnel.
