**UPDATED** Came in for a 3rd night, mainly because of convenience.. 2 waitresses deserve to be noticed, Moli and Kennadi were amazing and in my opinion were the only reason I decided to stay, eat, and grab a few drinks. They provided the absolute best experience I have seen in quite some time, overshadowing my previous 2 nights service. Food is amazing there which is another reason I decided to try one more night. Take care of the good ones because the not so great ones can make or break your business. I came in here two nights in a row. The first night. was great--I only stopped in for a couple drinks and the service was excellent. The second night, our waitress was friendly but a bit slow with the drinks. Still, the food tasted great. When her shift ended, we paid our tab and were told another server would take over our table. Unfortunately, nobody ever came by. After sitting for about 25 minutes without anyone checking on us or taking our order, we ended up leaving. read more

This is always a great place to go for a drink but they often make small mistakes with orders. Example, my brother ordered wings with all drums. I wanted wings as well and told the waiter to make sure I got a normal order and not all flats. He said that won't happen and sure enough all flats came out.... Well the manager didn't come out to address it but I was told they laughed about it. In the end I was given a free dessert. I guess I'll take it. Great restaurant. They just take their eye off the ball on little details from time to time. All and all not "flat" experience. read more

Chill place, noisy, TV's and lots of patrons. We started out with apps from the sushi bar. Not the best. Morning glory burger was great, fries were great, service was spectacular. Wonderful manager who assisted us with getting a particular game on TV. I ordered the chopped salad which was huge and delicious. Drink specials were creative and tasty but had little to no alcohol. I nursed mine for 30 minutes and the ice never melted. That tells you everything you need to know about the alcohol content. We will definitely be back but we won't be ordering any sushi or pricey specialty drinks. Minus the sushi, this would be a 5 star review. read more

We have gotten several things from their menu and have been very pleased. We always have great service and friendly waitstaff. As a former Kentucky resident, I look forward to visiting Drake's anytime I can. Their pretzel appetizer is my favorite, especially with that creamy cheese sauce. For lunch, my go-to recently was the California Cobb salad. The portions are good and the food is even better. The last 3 times we have gone to Drakes for lunch, we were disappointed in the service and/or food. Today was particularly frustrating. We went on our lunch hour. It took 55 minutes AFTER the order was placed for the food to arrive. Once we had the food, the condiments requested were not provided, and it took asking another server to bring them when 10 minutes after asking our server for them, they were still not delivered. Burger was now cold. The fish was way overcooked, as were the burger patties. Service was slow, food dry and not to order. Will not be returning. read more

A classic in the area. Juicy burgers that leave no room for dessert. Fries are crisp and fresh. The sriracha wings are a great dry rub blend of spices and the ranch dressing is phenomenal. We were out in the open area (at a table where we were more comfortable) and the cross breeze was wonderful! We had the burger of the month (Philly burger) and both burgers were great. We visited for burger week 2019, and I still think Drake's has the best tasting burgers in town! During the Covid 19 era, Drake's is on top of their game. Upon arrival we were greeted by a hostess who took our temperature and then led us to our booth. In between the booths they have hung plexiglass to serve as a barrier. While out enjoying a weekend drive, Fat Man Reviews made its way to Drake's Brannon Crossing in Nicholasville, KY. Drake's is a small chain with 18 restaurants over 6 states. Drake's is open for lunch, dinner and late night eats. We started with the BLT Tots, a large order of tater tots covered in creamy ranch dressing, chopped bacon, shredded iceberg, Roma tomatoes, and scallions. The tater tots are out of a bag, but they were cooked and seasoned to perfection, with an excellent crunch. The ranch tasted homemade and was creamy and though maybe a tad salty. The bacon was cooked well and added a good bite. The lettuce and tomato were fresh. This is a large appetizer that could easily be a meal. My fiancé tried the Mini Cheeseburgers and a side salad. This comes with three minis, melted American cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickle. Ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard can be requested on the side. The burgers were cooked well done, and we're slightly dry, but the melted cheese helped that. The bun and veggies were fresh. The salad was a BLT salad covered and mixed in ranch. I decided to try the Buffalo Chicken Minis and fries. The dish is three chicken sandwiches with buffalo sauce on butter toasted buns, blue cheese(ranch is available) and lettuce, tomato and pickle on the side. The chicken was cooked well and gives you nice portions. I would not mind a bit more sauce on the sandwich. The blue cheese looked and tasted as if made in house. The buns again were fresh, and the fries, came from a bag, but were cooked well also. Drake's Brannon Crossing offers several sandwich and burger options. They also offer Aqua sushi, 20 beers on tap and a full bar. They have several TVs throughout the restaurant, so this is a great place to watch a game. The service was pretty good. The Fat Man says that Drake's is Fat Man Approved. read more

Drake's is the restaurant in the BHG group that has absolutely blown up! With locations across several states, this is a casual small chain where you can get everything from burgers to Aqua Sushi and everything in between. On this trip I decided to go with the Poke bowl. You have a choice of tuna or salmon, I opted for the Salmon. The bowl arrived and looked beautiful. I should have taken a picture but I was starving and forgot, sorry campers. These was a good amount Salmon on top of sticky rice, Seaweed, radish, jalapeño, carrots, avocado, and wasabi sauce. Aqua never disappoints and this poke bowl was no exception. This place has a good beer selection and an even better bourbon selection. A great place to watch the game, date night, or for a fun family meal! read more

My girlfriend and myself had been looking foward to trying Drake's brunch. We went today and their seating was limited because they were filming a commercial. We sat at the bar since it was the only thing available and took 10 mins for the bar tendor to even take our drink order. After he gave us our drinks he disappeared. We waited for 10 to 15 minutes and no one came to take our food order. As we were standing up and throwing $5 on the bar to cover the drink he magically appeared out of no where. I told him he kept us waiting to long and we were going somewhere else. I guess filming a commercial in your restaurant was more important then taking care of your customers. read more

Just had a fabulous lunch at Drakes in Brannon Ctossing. I must say that when you go here, you need to request Miranda as your server. Miranda was spot-on with everything. Great personality, extensive knowledge of the menu, and her service was top notch. I had the BBQ Bacon Burger. This delicious burger was topped with a very rich BBQ sauce, onion petals, bacon and lettuce and tomato. Great flavor and you could taste each layer of scrumpdullyishousness in your mouth. Included one side and I selected their crinkle cut 'Drakes Fries' which were cooked to perfection. Crispy and hot. My friend had the Mushroom Swiss Burger. This is his favorite and he never even looks at the menu when he goes here. It's his standing order. Previously I have had the Juicy Lucy burgers which are sliders. (You can never go wrong with these either) Also check out their incredible salads! The hardest thing about going here is deciding on going with what you know is good, or trying something new. Wide selection of menu items to please the pickiest eaters. Unfortunately, I did not get any photos today, but I guarantee you will want to return again and again. The only bad thing about Drakes is that they do not have a location in Richmond, KY (yet). Hopefully this will change very soon. Richmond needs a Drakes and Drakes needs Richmond! read more

I know the calendar says September but it's OKTOBERFEST at Drakes! Me and the Mr. stepping out for a weekend lunch on this gorgeous autumn Sunday in KY. Loved the laid back, casual, fun, open air, feel to Drakes with the doors open to the alfresco dining and that breeze coming through to the inside where we were seated. Service was great and quick. Food was delicious. Mike took advantage of the 25 Oz Samuel Adams beer AND take-home beer stein for $9.00! He ordered the all beef frankfurter- also from the special Oktoberfest menu. He gave a big stamp of approval to his meal as did I. I went for a bit healthier (but still just as delicious) griddle-seared chicken (comes with TWO chicken breasts) - that have been marinated overnight in Drakes' Italian seasoning and then seared on the griddle leaving them fork-tender and flavorful without any one seasoning being overpowering. For my one side, I chose the rough chop Cole slaw and it was the perfect compliment to the chicken. Simple -- yet delicious! Gina is my favorite bartender. She is great! Having food allergies, I was wary about eating here the first time. Gina got a kitchen manager to speak with me. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and suggested what I should order to safely avoid my food allergens. He also assured me that the kitchen did not use latex gloves to prepare food. Drake's is a good place, good service. They have good food (and sushi) and a good beer selection. All of the Drake's I've visited have been a pretty similar experience. That being said, one of the main reasons we go to Drakes is because of the shuffleboard (trivia is fun too on Sundays and Mondays), but the shuffleboard here is a frustrating waste of money. I think its $2, but out of the 5 or 6 games we played, we were only able to finish one. There is no timer, except when you have one minute left. I asked the bartender how much time we have, but no one seemed to know. It would be so much better if they just rented out the pucks. Hopefully one day I can update this review when they get the shuffleboard situation figured out. read more

This was our first return to Drake's post-pandemic, and we went there specifically to eat copious amounts of sushi and hang out on a patio. Wow what an experience, and more excellent than we anticipated. While we were initially told there would be a 20 minute wait, and there were several large groups waiting for tables, since there were just two of us they had us seated in less than 10 minutes. The patio was warm & inviting despite the chill in the air, and we had plenty of privacy & intimacy even though the place was packed. The ambience was perfect, and we were greeted right away. I noted plexiglass partitions at the bar, throughout the restaurant, and everyone was appropriately distanced. The food came right away, was exquisitely flavored, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. We were super impressed with how well the place was run, and how quick & efficiently we were served (three different people helped us and they were all super friendly). We ordered a second round of food, finished our drinks, and left thoroughly satisfied with our experience. read more

We have been to Drakes all over the place for years and we love it! Always a great experience - until today. It's Boxing Day and somewhat busy out and about. We walked in and we were immediately greeted by the hostess and we told her we would love a place for two. We were told it would be a twenty minute wait and we asked if it's possible to just grab a place at the bar... the hostess snaps at me immediately in the most ignorant and honestly bitchy tone and says "good luck with that"... we, along with everyone else in the vicinity that heard, were shocked by her answer and tone. A simple, "we're pretty busy, but you're welcome to go take a look" would've been fine. It's exhausting that this Drakes will leave a bad impression on us because once you make it inside the food, drinks and wait staff are amazing! read more

So first time at Drakes having lunch w my cousin. We seated ourselves at a high table with a breeze blowing thru the building. Mario C greeted us and brought us some water and tea while looking over the menu. I tried the new Hawaiian hamburger w no bun and house salad w ranch. What a pleasant restaurant and atmosphere. We were more there to visit than anything, and I'll say I'm not into salads at all, but the salad with the bacon and their house ranch was more than spectacular! It was soooo much different than what I had imagined. Next time I will have the salad w 2 burger patties and it will be even better. I will say I was Very disappointed in the burger. It was flat and dry and tasteless with pineapple in top. It may be my fault because I ordered w no bun since I do t eat bread, but it was like blacktop with pineapple. I probably should have sent it back but was more into visiting with my cousin. I'll give it a second try before totally saying no, and there are many more items in the menu. Full disclosure here, I attended the soft opening of Drake's and I'm Bluegrass Hospitality Group's biggest fan. With that said, I usually don't review a restaurant based on a soft opening, but I know BHG well enough to know that the one experience wasn't a fluke. Unfortunately, this location is far from my house and the other Lexington Drakes' location isn't, so I probably won't be back for awhile :( Which means... I must share the love NOW so that you all know about this place. It officially opened yesterday, 9/25/18. It's located in Brannon Crossing, just over the Jessamine County line. If you're at The Summit, the mall of anywhere on Nicholasville Road, it's worth a few miles drive to check it out. It sits back, as a stand alone building, so you won't find it within the strip of shops. It's not hard to locate though. Most of the seating is high top tables, but I did see them lower one of the tables for a group of people.. so if that's a need, just mention it. This time, I had the BLT salad. Just like the Lexingtonian at Malones, it was ah-maaazing! Oh yeah, we started with a spring roll and fried pickles. The fried pickles were the best that I've ever had, and I promise you, I've had a ton of fried pickles. I couldn't pass them up, pickles are my favorite food, plus I had a salad=on good dieting behavior. The spring roll is highly recommended, especially for the non sushi fan... instead of rice, the roll is wrapped in rice paper, which is super thin, so you basically get more of the sushi filling, replacing the rice. They have monthly burger and sushi features. Whatever the burger feature is and if burgers are your thing, get it! They've got some, if not the best burgers around. The tater tots are also fantastic and I'm usually a french fry junky but prefer the tots when I'm at Drake's. There is always a seasonal cocktail menu and I'm not kidding when I say the drink concoctions are created by professionals. I've never had or heard of a bad one. They are strong, so beware. Well fellas I guess I did it I found a group of people that work less than congress. Its the people at drakes in nich vegas. Me and the boys were hurtin for some food and food and decided that drakes was the place to be despite this rip roaring blizzard we got. Now I like all of these restaurants, the drakes harrys canes and malones are all sold establishments but man the service we had here was rougher than justin herbet in the semifinals of fantasy football game. We waited for 20 minutes for are server to come and take the orders while a whole group of em was in the corner just standing around and talking. It took way longer to get the food, I think congress couldve passed a bill faster than this service tonight and probably with less standin around involved. The food was good tho and I couldn't stop staring at chive tv so all in all a good time was had by all read more

Becky is the rudest "manager" I've ever had to deal with. Very unprofessional. I have never experienced a manager cursing at a table. A person in our group asked our server what her name was due to her being nasty at the bar and she ultimately came to our table with a superior attitude and started arguing instantly with him which ultimately led to her calling the police on him. With Becky being a manager I would expect more from her but apparently this place is lacking class in who the chose to lead. What a waste. I know it's hard to get employees that want to work but come on Drakes. Don't let people like Becky represent your establishment. It will just be ran down to the ground. read more
