Dr. Eric Chapman and the staff were great to work with. Typically in the medical industry you expect to be persuaded that you need more care at a higher cost. My experience here was exactly the opposite. I thought my cat had a broken arm, and Dr. Chapman was able to tell that it was not broken with his exam, saving me money on what would have been an unnecessary X-Ray. He took the time to answer questions in detail, and my cat's doing much better after the treatment! High integrity at this clinic, which is very important. Everybody was friendly. NOT A HOSPITAL! Our poor dog was hit by a car a few blocks away and we rushed him to the "hospital" but the vet would not even walk out of the room to look at our dying dog. They sent us to far away animal hospital in SLC when they probably knew others were nearer. Our dog died on the way. If you would like a sick care vet this is your guy! He will do everything that the veterinarian training taught him and nothing outside of it. Please double check all of your prescriptions as they are not labeled and if you call to make sure you get the right one he's too busy to get back to you especially when it's an antibiotic, like in our case. If you ask him about making your own dog food or finding other ways that don't mean paying a bunch of money for a ton of medications and surgery, he is clueless. If you think all of your questions will be answered once you finally talk to him after pouring your heart out to his assistant, he wont. He will do everything in his power to get you to buy his tick medication. I never knew of a veterinarian clinic to sell you so hard every possible medication in my life . If you are a person that likes to read labels know about immunizations, medications and dog food, then this is not your vet. read more

When I went in the veterinarian barely took a look at my dog. Then I bought a dog cone from them. They sized the expensive cone to my dogs head. However the cone was too small and cut up my dogs neck. When I asked them for a new one they told me I would have to buy it. Never going here again. read more

I had taken or spoken to three others in the area and my senior dog is well cared for by the staff at Draper Animal Hospital. I trust them with my fur babies. They're thorough and get it right the first time rather than experimenting on them like some do and they take the right amount of time to assess the needs of your pet. What an absolutely amazing group of people. We used to see another vet in the area but they started acting a bit too "business" for us so we tried D.A.H. and have been taking our furry family here for years now. Some reviews say the prices are high, but I don't find them to be out of reason with any other vet in the area and more so, Dr. Chapman and his team give our dogs and cats the love and attention they deserve. Our pets are family to us and even if the prices were higher, and again, I don't feel they are, you cannot put a price on that local, "family" feeling. I will say we did take our dogs here back under the old ownership, I believe it was Dr. Moore, and at that time we did find the prices astronomical compared to others, and the service somewhat lack luster, but that was a long time ago and a different group of people. The only thing that is the same since those days is the building's location so I would not base your opinions on old reviews. The staff always follows up with a phone call to see how our pets are doing, they know us when we come in, and sure, some of that may be notes on a computer, but I believe it's more than that- They really know us and our furry family. They remember details, ask questions, talk to us, talk to our pets. Things you can't put a price on. So I will start with, up to today, my experience with Draper Animal Hospital had been very good. I think Dr. Chapman & his staff are very polite & attentive That being said, we had a miscommunication on charges on my latest visit. I get it, those things happen, but I was unhappy about it & asked to have someone call me The office manager called, & explained why the charges were what they were & said her team is "extremely well-trained" & would never misstate a charge I believe I was specifically told would not apply. Again, I get it, the person who told me that may have made a mistake, or I may have - at the end of the day, it is what it is. I was effectively told to find a new vet. Interesting customer service approach. In my experience (on both sides of these situations), a simple, "I'm sorry there was a miscommunication. Here are our policies. I will reiterate with our staff to ensure everyone understands". Very simple, very effective & an easy resolution. To be clear, I at no point raised my voice, argued, refused to pay, nor did i request anything from them other than an explanation & an assurance that this type of thing shouldn't happen again. Instead, she absolutely refused to form any sort of apology - I was told that she "needs to "protect" her staff" & they will be "happy to send my dog's records to another veterinarian". I asked, "you want me to stop being a customer?" (twice) & was told yes. Like I said, an interesting & very unique approach to customer service. So regretfully, I would recommend people searching for a vet look elsewhere read more

I have been taking my baby love bug Peaches to Dr. Moore from the moment she came into my life (2 yrs ago). And let me tell you we are in there ALL THE TIME. We have gone through horrible allergic reactions, chronic uti's, tumors and our most recent health problem- colitis. Each time we go the staff is welcoming and very loving to her, even though she has no manners and jumps all over them... I know that each and every time I need something for Peaches I can call anytime of the day. Even when I am freaking out and crying and just need a little reassurance Dr. Moore is always there! I'm very disappointed in them. This is the worst customer service ever. My little chihuahua accidentally got bowled over by our other dog and hurt his leg. I had to use a weekend emergency vet to have him looked at. They recommended possible surgery. I contacted Draper Animal hospital as Chapman has been his regular vet in the past. I wanted to get his opinion to see if the surgery is necessary. It's been 4 days and I have yet to hear from them. I have called them 3 times to ask if I could just get Dr. Chapman to even look at the X-rays, they were sent to him from the other facility. Nothing. I don't understand? It's not like I'm trying to get him bumped ahead for shots. He possibly needs surgery. I contacted another Animal hospital and got an appointment right away. I have never been treated this way. Beware - you will be ripped off. $325.00 for one Xray. Doc was not able to diagnose issues with our dog so recommended an Xray; never explained what to expect regarding pricing. On the way out the door, they sprung the inflated charges on my wife. I called back asking for the doc to call me back to request a courtesy credit. Apparently he's to high up to consult with his customers, so Instead I get a call back from the office manager Michelle who could not understand how operating like this alienates clients. We have taken our pet to Dr Chapman for several years now. We are a multi pet owners and have been that way for decades and lived in many states. I can honestly say we have never had a more sincere and kindhearted Vet in all those years as Dr Chapman. That is saying a allot in our case. I am sure we have had other good Vets in the past, but they do not stand out and i can't remember one that did. Dr Chapman and his staff are different and you feel it when you go there. We are new to Utah and didn't have a vet yet-- my dog hurt his paw on a walk. They were able to get us in right away and were so patient with him. He is a rescue dog and had serious issues with vets or kennels - any place that smells of lots of dogs. I warned them to muzzle him. But their kindness won him over and even though they pulled out a big thorn from his paw -- by the end of the visit he wasn't muzzled anymore and bonded with them. This is a wonderful vet clinic who are very caring and loving. Really recommend, they have your pets best interest at heart. read more

We had just moved to Utah and our dogs heartguard was out but I wasn't able to bring her in right away for a blood test so they provided me with 1 month free for our dog. We got our first dog and didn't really know what we were doing. A trainer told us how important it was to choose a good vet. She said she would not go to anyone besides Dr CHapman. She said he is the best around and how nice it is to have one close to your home in case of an emergency. We got the puppy package and have gone in several times since we got Nellie and every time has been great! We have been so happy with Draper Animal Hospital. Dr Chapman and his staff are so wonderful. I don't know how he does it but he, in my opinion is the 'dog whisperer'. My puppy is a very difficult little lady. He gets her to calm down and relax in a way no one else has been able to. I want to have him come to my home and teach my whole family how to keep Nellie calm! He was so good with my children and talked to them about how important it is to be calm so she will take on their energy. Nellie has been difficult in many ways and the technicians have been so nice there to try to teach me how to trim her nails and brush her teeth so she will be better behaved as she gets older. Once when she got 'cherry eye' Dr CHapman was able to get her right in and he was able to offer a simple procedure to reverse the problem and it worked and she didn't need surgery. I am so so happy with Draper Animal Hospital!!! Dr Chapman is great and his technicians and front office people are all so helpful and extremely friendly. They call to make sure NEllie is doing well and to find out if I have any questions. I feel like they really care about me and my dog-it's not just a job to them, they really care about us. Dr. Chapman is the best vet we have known in about 25 years of owning pets. When our old dog Riley had to be put down last summer, Dr. Chapman came to the house after hours so Riley was able to lie under his favorite tree and not be moved. His compassion and caring for Riley was so amazing, even though he had only seen Riley once. Now he is helping us take care of another aging pet and his thoughtful advice and diagnosis are really helping Bella have a much better quality of life. I rarely write reviews, but when I find a local diamond in the rough, I feel compelled to do so. Since Dr. Chapman took over Draper Animal Clinic from Dr. Moore in April 2014, we have needed their services on at least 8 different occasions. Including, treating and putting down our 14 year old tabby cat, examining, vaccinating and neutering our new kitten (Pee Wee), and performing various miracles on our 6 year old Yellow Lab (Marley). On one occasion, our Yellow Lab all of a sudden was hunched over and could barely walk. We were really concerned and totally freaked out. Dr. Chapman saw and treated him immediately. After 20 minutes Marley walked out almost normal, with a big smile on his face. I was completely blown away, I couldn't believe it. I highly recommend and can't say enough great things about Dr. Chapman and his staff at Draper Animal Clinic. I finally found a veterinarian for Danni that I love. Draper Animal Hospital! Danni jumped off the high part of our couch a little over a year ago. When he did it seemed like he hurt his shoulder because he would hold up his right front leg and wouldn't pick his neck up. We were going to Banfield Pet Hospital (don't recommend) and after doing X-rays and not seeing anything, they put him on pain Meds and muscle relaxers for almost 2 months! The issue has never fully gone away. Sometimes he will scratch on the door and start yiping, he walks with his head down a lot, it has been so sad to not know what to do. I thought maybe he would be like this forever... until yesterday. I have hope now! Dr Chapman at Draper Animal Hospital is a pet chiropractic and after I explained all of this to him, he examined Danni and found his cervical spine was out at his neck. He did a complete adjustment on him from neck to tail. Danni was super brave. We came home and he was a new dog! Holding his head up higher than I've seen in a year and he seemed happier. I never knew Pets could get chiropractic but I'm so happy I found this vet! It may take a couple more adjustments before it's a permanent fix but I have hope now that my lil guy won't be in pain anymore. The hardest part for me is realizing he's been having neck pain and probably headaches for over a year and I had no idea what to do. Can you imagine having a cricked neck for a year! I also want to add that not only is Dr Chapman great, so is the whole staff at DAH. Everyone is super friendly and they love on my Danni and talk to him and comfort him. We have been taking our pets to Draper Animal Hospital for many years, however, we were very disappointed when we recently brought our dog in recently and he was seriously misdiagnosed. We noticed a concerning bump on our dog's face and brought him in. Dr. Eric Chapman diagnosed it as an aggressive form of cancer and scheduled us for surgery immediately, without any testing. I had a weird feeling about it, I wasn't sure about the diagnosis but I was completely trusting of Dr. Chapman. Thankfully, I decided to schedule an appointment with a different vet and got a second opinion. University Veterinary Clinic was very thorough and transparent and recommended we have the lesion tested before scheduling an expensive and invasive surgery. The results came back negative for cancer and it turned out to be simply a ringworm infection. It cleared up right away with a 60$ medication. I called Dr. Chapman to let him know of the misdiagnosis in hopes he will be more careful in the future to save other families money and save pets the pain of unnecessary surgery. Dr. Chapman was defensive and very unapologetic when I informed him of his mistake. Be very careful at this clinic! Dr. Chapman proved to be more concerned about money than giving a careful and thorough diagnosis. Thank God we got a second opinion or we would have had a case of medical malpractice.
