Closed 1 week + due to "doctor shortage" according to another location making it a NIGHTMARE to refill my pets lifesaving meds. West Jordan location was equally tough to deal with. They'll tell you the meds are there but won't bother to look up the right dosage. No communication from Banfield about these rolling closures in the SLC valley leaving pet parents high and dry and scrambling. AVOID read more

They have terrible scheduling, as all banefields. Hire more staff. But the lady at the front was nice, but nice isn't efficient. Just needed a nail trim and meds but I'll learn to do the trim and we will find a new vet that has staff and time. read more

Been trying to get in touch with the vet since last night. Dropped my dog of yesterday and he was fine. Picked him up and he's been whimpering ever since. Left a message last night, no response. Called first thing this morning, no response. Continued to call until I spoke to someone and FINALLY someone answered. They informed me the vet was in a surgery and would call me right after they were out. No call ever came. Called 4 more times and got the same response "he's busy with surgery/patients and will call you right back". NO ONE HAS CALLED! I was promised a call before they left for the day at 530... still no call. My dog is not well, I need to know WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM!!! To be ghosted by a veterinarian is seriously a WHOLE NEW LEVEL! This is not ok. I've paid for the wellness plan for a long time and to be brushed off this way is wrong. CALL ME BACK!!! read more

Great doctors and staff. Very helpful and kind. They treat your pets as if they were their own. The poor reviews are mainly related to the puppy plan. My concern is how experienced the doctors are and how the front reception is with you when you have an emergency or call in for help. After a long battle and 4 different Banfield's appointments, I found this place that finally was able to help me with my dog's travel health certificate. The Dr was so kind and nice, and even helped with USDA final paperwork. If you are traveling internationally, I do recommend them. read more

They had my pet for 8 hours. After hours of waiting. I was charged $50 for an " exam". I was told the vet left early for the day and they could not do anything for my pet. Haha they wanted me to reschedule . I THINK NOT . This staff is cold and unprofessional. They should not be in business of caring for our pets. 100% DO NOT go to Banfield Pet Hospital if you care about your pet. My wife and I had been with them for about 5 months and today was the first time we got to see inside how they treat the animals.. and it was traumatic, to say the least. They will make it seem like your animal is getting in and taken care of but then after over an hour still not have even gotten them looked at. Then, when you check-in on your dog they will treat you like garbage and insist on how busy they are. We set an appointment, and Banfield set 0 expectations or notice of how long it would take nor would they even allow us to be in the appointment with our dog even though they demanded we bring him in physically (they had never asked us to do this until today as well). The horrible receptionist Gwen decided to gaslight our complaints and that was the final straw. We are going to call later for a full refund on our subscription with them and find a Pet Hospital that CARES. read more

We brought a sick duck here July 2020. We were told to come to this clinic by Richard at Avian Sanctuary and Protection and to ask for Dr. Orr. Dr. Orr was not there, so our duck was seen by another vet who supposedly also treated exotic pets. Richard at the Avian sanctuary had commented that her belly was swollen. The vet at Banfield only had our duck for about 15 minutes and we told him that Richard said her belly was swollen. Apparently this vet didn't have enough sense to x-ray or try to draw fluid off first. He called us to say that our duck, Baby, was dead because he pressed on her tummy. :( WE went back to retrieve her for private cremation and were heartbroken to not only lose her so suddenly, but to also have no idea what was wrong with her. He offered to send her off to state wildlife for a necropsy b/c she was a mallard mix, but we would not have gotten her returned to us. read more

We called at 5:30 pm after a dog had been hit by a truck and needed help. Even after explaining we only lived 10 mins away, they refused to help us because they closed at 6. Nobody was willing to stay and help. For a veterinary office who claims to care for animals they sure don't care enough to treat us in an emergency 30 mins before closing. read more

Ugh! What can I say, I tried to like this place but after lack of follow up and just doesn't seem attentive to our pets needs I gave up and took my pup elsewhere. I guess it used to be creekside animal hospital but things were changing and I guess we must have gotten caught up during their changes. Well good luck to anyone else going there I had enough with getting trying to get in touch with their front desk it was becoming my second job. Our family got a new puppy and had someone recommend Banfield. I took him there and they recommended the puppy wellness plan and really sold how great it was, so I decided to signup for it. Well, two weeks later the puppy didn't work out for our family and was rehomed so we no longer needed the puppy wellness plan. I called to cancel and then I understood why they pushed the wellness plan. The $55 membership fee is non-refundable so they get to pocket that. I paid the difference between the services they provided and the monthly payment I had made which was an extra $300 because they also include a $100 DNA test in the plan that you pay out of pocket if you cancel the plan. So now I have a DNA test for a dog that I no longer own. In summary, if you are unsure about whether a puppy is going to workout for your family - maybe wait on signing up for the plan even if they push you to sign up on your first visit. I spent $150 extra dollars that turned out to be unnecessary. It probably is a good deal if you keep your pet - just would have been nice if someone at Banfield had explained what happens if you cancel early on rather than pushing the plan as the best thing to do. It wasn't the best thing for me. read more

I came here to get a second opinion on one of my new rats after initially seeing a vet who I don't feel is very experienced with rats and gave me insufficient antibiotics. He was sneezy from the start, and I knew something was wrong because a rat should not sneeze as much as he did--any activity came with fits of sneezing/squeaking and a wet nose. Creekside (now Banfield) was recommended on a Utah rat page so I figured they would know more. Everyone was very nice, they got me in quickly, and the appointment ran on time, however, I feel like Dr. Orr just kind of brushed my concerns off saying he was a perfectly healthy rat, and the sneezing wasn't a concern. It's now 2 weeks later and he is very audibly congested. Today they agreed to get him on the appropriate antibiotics but I just hope it's not too late! read more

I have been bringing my two small dogs to this location for just over a year. They are incredibly friendly and very helpful both over the phone and in person. They generally seem to run on time and I don't spend much time (if any) waiting for my appointment. Thank you! read more

We have had a terrible experience at this pet hospital. We bought the puppy plan and have been charged $45 a month for a year to pay for our dogs shots and her spay surgery. Almost every time we would go in for the next series of vaccines they were confused which vaccines were next and we had to remind them which ones were needed. We would show up and they would have the wrong breed in their system for our dog. Then when we got our dog spayed. We brought her home and realized the stitching looked very strange and not very strong. Sure enough it did not take much for the stitches to be ripped open and our dog's abdominal fat was hanging out of her belly and was dripping blood. We rushed her to the the pet hospital where we waited in the lobby with a bleeding dog and an open wound for 15 minutes before they got her in. I would understand better if they were busy, but as I sat there in the lobby not knowing what was coming out of my dogs stomach from the ripped stitches the people at the front desk sat there talking and laughing with each other and no sense of urgency. We then were charged a few hundred bucks to fix her up and resew the stitches. Then just the other day our dog was throwing up several times would not eat her food (which is very uncommon for her) and would have random sorts of what looked like bloody diarrhea. I called the hospital 3 times 2 hours before they closed only to ring out to voicemail. I left an urgent message and they never called me back not even the next day. I will say the vet techs seemed very kind but when it came to the health of our dog, we were very very disappointed. read more

Just took my dog in to get a check up and nail trim and we were told they were going to keep him for 4 hours. He had not eaten anything that day so I wasn't about to let him sit there in a kennel for hours just for a quick check up. On top of that my husband waited an hour to even have them take him back. They told us we should have scheduled an in-room appointment but there weren't any available online it was only drop off unless I wanted to wait another 2 weeks for an available doctor at the time we needed. The hours aren't very flexible and it doesn't even seem worth having a membership when it's this difficult to get our dog in for a checkup. read more

Creekside is great. All of the vets are great...with one exception...Dr. Orr will blow you off, not answer your questions, refuse to even read the ER report from another vet, etc. If you like being ignored and getting so-so care for your pet, Dr. Orr is your man. If you actually want to have a conversation about your pet, choose any other vet. All of the others are truly amazing and clearly care. read more

Absolutely do NOT take exotics here. They do NOT KNOW EXOTICS! My ferret was severely ill and they gave her the wrong medication for weeks and she never improved. I went to Wasatch Exotic (would highly recommend) and they gave her the correct medication and she's doing so much better. Creekside does NOT CARE about your pets! Three times I asked to see Dr. Orr, and for whatever reason, all three times a different doctor came in. She didn't know ANYTHING about ferrets and did NOT give a shit about my ferret's health. The receptionists are some of the most incompetent people I've ever met. Every three weeks I came in to refill my ferret's medication. And every time they had no idea what the medication was, how to make it, or how much to charge. Since my ferret only got worse I wouldn't be surprised if they gave her some random medication they had just sitting in the back since they clearly had no idea what they were doing. Please do NOT take your exotics here! They sold out to Banfield, so they clearly only care about the money. Also the dog boarding is atrocious, dirty, and overpriced. read more

I typically only leave positive reviews because every business has a bad day and that shouldn't affect their review score all the time. However, I am completely appalled by the treatment from this facility. I understand that at the end of the day we are treating animals not humans, but our dog is a major part of our family and we expect her to be treated as such, especially when we pay a lot of money for a huge surgery. We took our dog in for multiple "tumors" that needed to be removed. We were not at all briefed on what was going on or assured that she was in good hands. We essentially received "it could be benign or it could be malignant." That is terrifying for a family to hear. The shape she was in after her surgery was shocking (Obviously we expected her to be out of it but the way in which her surgery was done was very unexpected considering no one briefed us about what was going on). It was horrific to see our dog like that and not get any reassurance from the vet office who had her for almost 12 hours under their care. The vet techs were very kind to my dog and we appreciate that service. However, at the end of the day never speaking to the vet who had my dog open on his table is just off putting. You could at least pop in at some point (before or after her surgery, when her drains were removed OR when we went in to get her stitches out- we visited the clinic over 4 times in one month). THEN to top it all off it took them 15 days to give us her results back when the original timeline was 7. The vet received the results on the 18th and did not call my family until the 26th because "he thought someone else had done it and he was on vacation?" We called multiple times to ask a technician to tell us the results and apparently only a vet can. That is not the kind of treatment my family or my dog deserved as we were on edge about whether or not our dog was dying of cancer. Horrible horrible customer service. We will not be returning. read more

I have a little 4lb Yorkie that needs her anal glands expressed frequently. I called Banfield to see what their charge was and if they could teach me to do it myself. They flat out said no, claiming its complicated and dangerous. I've done a lot of research on this topic and that's just not true. It is wise to get educated on it but what they're saying is that anyone who doesn't have a Vet degree is just too stupid to learn. It's all about the money! By the way, they charge $30 for what literally takes 5 minutes or less. Ive actually done the expression before. read more

GUINEA PIG DIED NOT EVEN 24 HOURS LATER. I would not recommend taking your guinea pigs here. I am disgusted and heartbroken over this. They made it seem like everything was fine. We took her in because although she was normally very active and vocal, she stopped eating, had a smell to her that wasn't normal which we thought could be a tooth infection because she would try to eat then just lick the food instead. Banfield told us that this happens and we just need to force feed her for awhile and then she would start eating again. They also gave her antibiotics and I feel like this was done because I told them that it smelled like infection or thought there possibly was one. I called to let them know what happens and asked for the medical records to see if a full exam was done since I had paid for it. The man on the phone said he would email them but then said she was diagnosed with anorexia, being underweight and malaise (none of this was on the paperwork we received) They were told at the visit that we felt like she was skinny and the woman that helped us said she wasn't underweight and she has seen skinnier. We knew something was wrong and they made us feel like all was well!! After reviewing the paperwork that we have that says "congratulations your overall pet health is great in all these areas" which were all of them. They didn't do a temperature, heart rate, you know the norm! I feel like if an actual exam was done my pet would still be alive because she would have been treated for whatever was going on. These pets are very fragile and should be taken more seriously when you bring them in. Guess they got their money out of me though! . Please just don't take your pet here. There has to be better care out there. Also, this was a drop off visit where they see your pet inbetween patients. Meaning you leave them in the morning and pick them up in the evening. Maybe a bette exam would have been done if I was in the room. read more

For the second time now, Creekside was NOT able to get my cat in for an emergency visit. They seemed very uncaring on the phone as well, like it was no big deal to them. I've been going there with my 5 cats for the past 7-8 years, but NO MORE! I called Lone Peak Veterinary Hospital the last time I had an emergency with one of my cats and although they were just as booked up as Creekside, they were very nice and accomodating and got my cat right in that morning and on a Saturday! That's what a CARING veterinary place will do - these cats are not "just a pet," they are my family! And today when I had to change my appointment from 1:00 pm to a later time at Creekside for my cat that has a bad infection on his neck, they were like "well, no we don't have any appointments for today, we'll have to look at tomorrow." They didn't even ask what was wrong or try to fit my cat in. I then called Lone Peak Veterinary again and they were like "sure, we can get him today, I have these appointments available." I am transferring all of my cats care over to Lone Peak today!! I will recommend Lone Peak Veterinary any day of the week over Creekside! read more

We have been taking our chinchillas to Dr. Orr for 22 years. He has always been gentle and compassionate when they have been sick and also knowledgeable about how to treat such a small animal. He has been especially caring with our very old chinchillas. The place is always clean and I never feel like we have to wait very long. read more

I am moving to Draper in the next few weeks and wanted to establish a relationship with a local Vet for on going care for my labrador, I scheduled an appointment at 7:30 AM for a teath cleaning and minor surgury, I was coming from West Jordan and got caught in traffic and arrived less than 15 min late... I understand I was late but less than 15 min... The girl at the front desk was not understanding with my 15 min of tardyness. She asked if my dog had ate anything this morning, I explained that he did not eat as per their instructions, she then said "good because you get to go home and feed him" They would not see him brcause he/ we were 15 min late. They reschdedualed for this coming Saturday. As I sat in their parking lot I realized that I did not want this relationship so I walked back in and canceled Saturdays' appointment and said I would find a different Vet. She simply said "ok" ... nice building, very clean, everything you would want if only there was no attitude at the front desk...I'm going elcewhere. read more
