Fantastic winery, fantastic wine and a fantastic experience for our guests. We launched Destination Drivers wine tours in Lodi in 2019 and Drava was one of the first wineries we visited. William and Steven, brothers & co-owners of Drava Wines were warm and welcoming from the start. Although their winery isn't in an upscale building in the middle of a vineyard, EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER that we have taken there has been thrilled with the wine and has purchased. That's the sign right there - they put their money where their mouth is, and that is why we recommend Drava again and again. Also important for us is that all our guests loved the experience with William, who runs the tasting room and shares information about the winemaking process, the varietals that they use and why, and just his abundant knowledge of the world due to many years traveling the globe. I have spent 30 years operating tours around the world and my number one priority is always what is in the client's best interest. That's why I highly recommend Drava to anyone, experienced connoisseur or wine novice. You will not be disappointed and it's an opportunity to be part of and support a growing business that will undoubtedly continue to win awards and impress clients for decades to come.

Drava Wines is one of the newer wineries in Lodi, done in the new industrial style - similar to a hip new brewery instead of a lavish country winery. This setting allows the owner to offer a more accessible wine experience along Turner Road east of 99 in the industrial park area housing several other urban wineries. You will learn a lot about Slovenia while enjoying your wine tasting. William has many stories about his time there and the history of the winery that compliment his classic Lodi varietals. The focus is on several French grapes with a wonderful Merlot based Bordeaux blend with another great story. The tasting room is fairly basic with LOTS of Slovenian and Croatian memorabilia. This is another fun addition to the Lodi wine scene, especially for visitors looking for something a bit different. Drava Wines lacks the lush environment of most Lodi wineries, but this is a fun place that will still leave you with an enjoyable experience.

    Great selection of wines

We were up in Northern California again to ski at Tahoe, and couldn't miss our favorite winery. We visited with William and got the chance to try some of the other wines. All were spectacular and we had a wonderful time chatting as well. Drava Wines is a must for any trip in the Lodi area.

It took a bit to find the tasting room among the spaces, what we believe, an office complex area. Once in the tasting room, it was small but quaint and cozy. William was friendly as we chatted about the memorabilia in the room which led to delving about his past, and (because of my international experience),eastern Europe, the Balkans and Slovenia. We enjoyed the conversation especially with the other patrons there. We learned about that the winery is small and they produce small lots. Their wine selection was excellent - we particularly enjoyed the '15 Lodi Mourvedre. We also liked the unsophisticated labels on the bottles. We visited from recommendations and were pleased we did; however, we both agree that upgrading or perhaps, relocating would be nice for a better look outside...just a thought.

So glad I stopped by Drava Wines. They have an intimate tasting room and some great wine. I received a lot of history behind the wines and enjoyed the conversation. I'd recommend stopping by and picking up a bottle!

Welcoming and enjoyable wines. William Carson and his brother are the masterminds behind Drava. William was personable and sharing. We had a good time talking and tasting. We will visit again!

I visited the winery over the Memorial Day holiday. I had a party of 5 adults, 5 toddlers and 2 babies. Therefore, I followed the instructions on the website and made a reservation for groups 7+ with a fee of $65 + tax. So when I arrived, the hosted said I could sit anywhere, as there were only a few tables taken, literally the place was not busy mid-day. People were at the inside bar. So then I asked, if I didn't need to make a reservation to secure the table, can I get a refund or use it towards food and tastings since there are so many open tables? The hostess was like, yeah no we can't. No empathy whatsoever, just like yeah too bad. And oh, we use to credit it towards tastings but now we just require you to pay to reserve a table even if we're not busy. So whatever, we just picked a table by the play area because that's mainly why we can, the kid-friendly atmosphere was appealing for a couple of moms who just wanted to get together. No one came by to check on us or say hello. We bought a couple of bottles at the bar. The staff at the bar I will say was most helpful and friendly, so credit there. We also ordered from the grill. So basically, I felt a little ripped off. Having to pay $65 + tax for what? No customer service from the hostess, for a table I didn't even need to reserve. So if you're coming here, just walk-in, don't waste your money. Even on a holiday weekend there were plenty of tables. I can understand the $65 fee being recommended to hold the table, but at least credit some of it towards food or a tasting like you use to. To have your hostess tell me that you use to but now you're just interested in taking my money will not have me coming back to your winery ever again.

As there weren't many folks doing a tasting on a weekday we got VIP treatment and had a deljghtful conversation, and education about the wines, from the person pouring for us. We really enjoyed our stay and the surroundings made it extra nice. Compared to the hype of Napa and Sonoma this winery and others in the Lodi area are down to earth and affordable in comparison, especially for tastings. This place very much is worth a visit. I had driven by many times and it seemed like an appointment only place but I guess now they have enough staffing to open up the hours and days of the week. First, their reputation has always been very good. They've had some recognition from some reputable wine sources so I had very high expectations for the wine. In, short, the wines were very good. They had a nice selection from rose to the more Lodi styled red wines. I really did enjoy all the wines and the price point seems fair. I guess I was kinda hoping to meet the winemaker, learn more about their vineyards and purpose for growing certain varietals. When you get wine with a story it makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I really like this place and I'm hoping to make a stronger connection with the business since I consider myself an advocate for Lodi wines since my hobby is to compare our wines with the best out in the other regions of CA. Pretty heavy competition but so far Lodi is more than able to compete with certain types of wines aka Zinfandel, Tempranillo, Syrah and occasionally Cabernet.
