I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this experience truly deserves it. Every time we visit Calivirgin Winery in Lodi, we always hope Rachelle is there--and that alone says a lot. She has a way of making each visit feel special without trying too hard. She's welcoming, genuine, and incredibly knowledgeable, but never overwhelming. Instead, she creates a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer and come back again. What really sets her apart is her consistency. It's not just one great visit--every time we've been there, she's gone above and beyond with the same positive energy and attention to detail. Because of her, this winery has become our go-to spot. I even celebrated my 50th birthday here, and it was such a memorable experience. All of my guests couldn't stop talking about how amazing Rachelle was--everyone felt taken care of, comfortable, and truly impressed with the service. The winery itself is beautiful, accommodating, and perfect for gatherings, which made the celebration even better. On top of that, the entire team at Calivirgin is fantastic. Sunday, 7/26/26 @ 3pmish. What's more important... sweeping up popcorn -- or -- acknowledging the customers (waiting at the 'Wait to be seated' sign)??? We stood 6+ people deep line of customers waiting to be acknowledged. There were a lot of other employees working... walking past us and chilling. I guess front desk was not a priority to have multiple people covering or filling in. I finally just asked if we could seat ourselves, which i was told I could go to bars. We ultimately had a good time and Sophia was good to us at the bar. Ever since I first tried Calivirgin's olive oil in Calistoga, I've wanted to get to the source where it was harvested and bottled in Lodi. Last weekend on a trip to Sacramento, I finally had a chance to stop by their Olive Mill and Winery. There is a nice sparking clean outdoor patio with picnic tables within a few steps from the olive oil grove but it was a bit hot that day so we opted to sit inside. In addition to the olive oil tasting set, there were some brunch items such as a crostini and salad as well as a Mediterranean plate with hummus. We opted for the crostini, olive oil tasting and a cappuccino. The jalapeño olive oil was unique and flavorful enough that we bought a couple bottles of it to take home. The pear vinaigrette was thick and tangy. The waitresses were friendly and helpful when we had a couple questions about the dishes. The shelves in the shop area is full of flavored olive oils and vinaigrette as well as ceramic and a whole slew of items for serving charcuterie. If you are a fan of olive oil and are planning on a trip up to Sacramento or Lake Tahoe, would definitely recommend stopping by to check out Calivirgin. read more

Ambiance and vibe were very nice! They had made a little bread board with various olive oils to sample, and it was amazing. The service was attentive as one of the members I was with was picking up their wine and oils for the month. Calivines Winery has a beautiful building and plenty of parking, conveniently located right off Interstate 5. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn't quite live up to the setting. We booked The Sommelier Experience: Wine + Olive Oil Pairing, which included small bites and small pours of wine. While the bites were flavorful, they were made with very simple ingredients and lacked the elevated touch I was expecting. I was also hoping to try a variety of local wines, but surprisingly, only one wine on the tasting menu was from Lodi. The others were from Suisun Valley and San Luis Obispo, which felt like a missed opportunity given the location. The wines themselves were rather unremarkable. One other note: the pricing was inconsistent. Their website listed the tasting at $25 per person, but booking through Tock came out to $30 per person, which felt a little misleading. Overall, it's a nice stop for the ambiance, but the wine and tasting experience left a lot to be desired. read more

Attended a baby shower on 11/16/25. The event took place at the banquet room located at this winery. Nice location, plenty of parking. The room was spacious and have very clean bathrooms. Addicted to their balsamic vinegar! I've been a member for over 2 years now. I love their olive oils and balsamic so much that I stock up whenever I go back home to visit. As a member I get complimentary olive oil tastings which you can't get anywhere else in the area. The quality is amazing and much better than the ones you get at the grocery stores. They host different events throughout the year. As well as pick up parties. During the holidays there's a little shopping market in the back room where you can buy cute gifts. Some weekends they also have music at the venue. Hopefully this years holiday pick up is available before thanksgiving and not after like this past year. read more

We had a reservation for Monday at 1:30pm. They allowed dogs but need to be outside. There's 2 different $20 tasting flights. We tried both, but there wasn't any wines that we liked. We prefer bold and flavorful wines with complexity. Unfortunately we didn't find any wines that fit this profile for us. They have free olive oil tasting inside the tasting room. They also have cornholes outside and plenty of outdoor seating. Looks like a lot of people were ordering food inside. Decided to head out to Lodi and try something new on my day off. I've passed Calivines multiple times and have always had intentions of seeing what it was all about... now I wish it hadn't taken me so long! While not generally big on sparkling, the Blanc de Blancs was among my favorite of the wines I tried. However, it was the popcorn kissed with garlic and basil olive oils that stole the show for me! I also did an olive oil tasting, of which I ended up taking home a bottle of jalapeno garlic olive oil and blood orange balsamic. I'd love to head back out to Calivines on a dry day with a book to enjoy a glass of wine (and popcorn of course!) at their outdoor seating area. read more

We finally had a chance to come to this spot yesterday and we were very impressed. The funny thing is we have actually been olive oil club members for years despite never coming here. Our daughter came here a few years back and had such amazing things to say my wife decided to have some shipped to our house in Idaho and we have been enjoying their olive oils for years and this weekend while we were in town we made it a point to go check this out in person. Not too far off the beaten path this place is just minutes from I5...but once here what a cool spot. Ambiance is really nice with plenty of open space inside and out. Service was amazing and got to sit the club members section which was also very nice. We also sampled some of their wines which also would highly recommended, but a couple things. You have to get their olive oil popcorn it is to die for! Then if you don't get their olive oil sampler with balsamic tasters you have missed out! Their blood orange and pear balsamic is something I have never tasted and their different flavors of olive oils OMG! The lemon and then dipped with balsamic is a taste or paradise! I have driven by more times than I can count while on the freeway and every time I say "oh I need to go there soon!" And I finally did! I knew it was olive oil tasting but I had no idea that they had food as well as wine. I was pleasantly surprised. This is a one stop shop. The tasting room itself was a lot bigger than I had expected and I love that they have a few areas for private parties if you need a venue. It was raining the day I was there but there is extensive area outside for entertaining as well and cant wait to go back when the weather is nicer. The gift shop area is cute as well, you can grab last minute gifts for almost anyone in your life. The olive oils were great but so was the food selection. I was a big fan of the jalapeno oil and the blood orange balsamic vinegar. I tried the charcuterie board which was a nice variety but also the hummus and the mock-a-mole was different but good! We love this place and have been members for several years. We keep multiple flavors of their olive oil on our counter for cooking. Their nighttime music events are always great and the Christmas shopping event is a must-go. We'll pop in just to sit and enjoy our tasting and bread and oil tasting on a weekend. We went here mainly to buy some olive oil as we were told that it's really good. When we entered, there was kind of a bad smell, but we overlooked that and sat at the counter. We did a wine tasting because we weren't aware they were doing wine now. We did not enjoy the wine although the two ladies working were very nice. The building is lovely. I guess if you're going for olive oil stick with that I would avoid the wine or give it a spin, but it wasn't our cup of tea or wine so to speak. Three of us tried the Pinot Noir initially served, and it tasted bad like vinegar. The only one that I tasted was a Zinfandel was OK. Initially someone in my party asked one of the ladies if there was a discount on the tasting if we bought a bottle and she said no, but apparently on Tuesdays there is so we might've bought a bottle of Zin if we've known that prior. read more

I was visiting California to see family and they took me to the winery and I was blown away. We did the sommelier pairing menu and this was the first time, out of all the wineries I've ever been to that home in Virginia/Maryland, that I ever truly tasted how well wine pears with certain dishes. Came here with family on a nice Saturday afternoon for a ladies outing. We set up a reservation a couple days prior and were able to get a seating for 6 inside. They were very accommodating as I initially had a booking outside but I mentioned that I want to be waitlisted inside because we have my grandma with us who was sensitive to heat and lo and behold, I get a call about 2 hours after I placed the booking and was contacted by a representative from Calivines indicating that they can get us seated inside to accommodate my grandma. I thought that was so wonderful and thoughtful of them. Now for the food and service. We all ordered an olive oil tasting and a bottle of Riesling for the table. Each tasting came with 2 olive oils, a balsamic vinegar, and almonds along with focaccia bread for dipping. The oils were very flavorful and definitely tasted how they were described. We also ordered pesto cheesy bread which...not going to lie, tasted like it was microwaved. The bread hardened like a microwaved bread would've so for the price we paid, it was not worth it and would definitely not get it again. The Riesling paired nicely with the oils as it cut through that greasy texture and was refreshing. Overall, the place was clean and the server was great but the service could be better as we never got our waters refilled even once. I think this part is an understaffing problem rather than our server (as she was great!), as she was serving almost all of the indoor tables (which were all pretty full at the time of our visit). Celebrated Valentine's Day at Calivines Winery. We booked a reservation online in advance for the wine and food pairing which was $25 each. The food was perfectly matched to the wine we tasted. After the tasting, we ordered the Vincino Chardonnay, charcuterie board and garlic bread. The Chardonnay was sooo crisp and delicious and it went well with the food. We also tried the Jalapeño oil with bread and their hot honey on the almonds were sooo good! Calivines had a variety of wines, honey, olives, and olive oils to purchase and other fun things to shop for. The establishment is really beautiful and modern and the service was great! A few work friends and I came here to toast to the end of our year. I have driven by Calivines for months but never stopped by. It did not disappoint this afternoon! They have a modern facility that is welcoming and boasts a friendly staff. We ordered a variety of things such as a charcuterie board, pita bread with hummus and chips and salsa along with an avocado spread. All were delicious when paired with a Zinfandel or rose. Celebrated my birthday at Calivines with wine and olive oil pairing. We made reservations in advance which is required for the food pairing. The tasting room was large and had cute wine theme items to buy and an area you could they their oils. We were poured all four wines and provided the tastings. The sauv blanc was a stand out as well as the Malbec. The pairing was well done and made the experience even more enjoyable. We decided to share a bottle when we finished our tasting and ordered the tzatziki and hummus, both were excellent. We went mid week and the service was a little slow but friendly. WOW! What a cool spot! I have seen this winery from the freeway for years and never stopped by! Regret! The design of the building is perfect! Love the modern look! Decent food, average wines. Get ready to pour your own water, set your own plates, and ask for more menus as you will not be given enough menus. Overpriced wine, but the Ancient Vine Zinfindel was good- that's about it. Seasoned winetaster here - so I wont be signing up for an average bottle for nearly 40 bucks nor joining the wineclub to decrease the high prices to above average prices for the wine. This is the first time I noticed the waitress' scent more than that of the wine or the food while winetasting - someone needs to professionally advise her that there is a bit of an unpleasant scent upon he presence.
