With all of the wineries in Lodi, it can be a difficult decision where to stop in at! We visited Stonum Vineyards a few weekends ago and were delighted with the rustic yet charming ambiance of the winery. We were quickly greeted by the friendly female hostess who offered us either indoor or outdoor seating. We chose to sit indoors to enjoy our tastings of both whites & reds . Normally I prefer reds however in the summer I enjoy a crisp Sauvangion Blanc or even a nice Rose. If you purchase a bottle your tasting fee is waived which is always a great deal. We enjoyed ourselves so much we returned for the Alpine Block party event which included tastings at Stonum Vineyards and two other nearby wineries. This fun filled evening included live music, food trucks, and the Lodi Wine trolley shuttling you back & forth between the wineries. Definitely a good time! I highly recommend Stonum Vineyards & Tasting Room for great wine, friendly service and well coordinated, entertaining events. read more

I have been trying to get to this place for a long time and finally I was able to make time to get there. I had driven by many times and it seemed like an appointment only place but I guess now they have enough staffing to open up the hours and days of the week. First, their reputation has always been very good. They've had some recognition from some reputable wine sources so I had very high expectations for the wine. In, short, the wines were very good. They had a nice selection from rose to the more Lodi styled red wines. I really did enjoy all the wines and the price point seems fair. I guess I was kinda hoping to meet the winemaker, learn more about their vineyards and purpose for growing certain varietals. When you get wine with a story it makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I really like this place and I'm hoping to make a stronger connection with the business since I consider myself an advocate for Lodi wines since my hobby is to compare our wines with the best out in the other regions of CA. Pretty heavy competition but so far Lodi is more than able to compete with certain types of wines aka Zinfandel, Tempranillo, Syrah and occasionally Cabernet. read more

Place was beautiful went around 12:30 we were the first ones there Kathy Stonum greeted us with a smile and was very helpful and gave us detailed Information about every wine and about the property! We came on a Friday for an early Mother's Day wine tasting 1st stop was here at stonum it was nice and quiet. We decided to do an outdoor tasting on the patio and because we were the only ones there without a reservation there was 6 of us I would suggest that with a party of our size usually you need a 24 hour reservations because as I tried on the website for the day of it would not let me. Kathy was kind enough to help me figure out why I couldn't do a reservation the day of. Price was $15 and comes with about 6 tastings with the service we got we would come back she also came to us to pour our tastings instead of having to come inside back and forth which was perfect for our party! This was kid friendly which was a + because we had to bring a few of our children. Highly suggest this place! Came here for the first time in February and have been bringing everyone we know here. Every time we have visitors from out of town we come here. We enjoyed it so much that we became wine members. Benefits of wine club is getting the bottles at a discounted price. Every visit we get 4 complimentary tastings or glass of wine. They have 3 pick ups through out the year for wine club members. each pick up is at least 6 bottles. My favorite wines are the estate zin and the dessert wines. Unfortunately they make limited cases of each. When I wanted to stock up at the end of the year of the dessert wine they were sold out. During summer they have summer Wine downs. Where there is food Friday nights. Every time we come we're treated with great hospitality. The staff is always so friendly. Always nice seeing the cats, Wolfy and Dewey, around the place and just chilling. They're so big and fluffy! read more

Ugh! Don't want to write this mate - but I had to be done to warn others Service needs to improve drastically for us to return- let's take you back to 2024 .... The partner and a couple of mates been to their wine tasting room - very nice ambiance by the way - but their service was lackluster, not very attentive and borderline rude ... ok we let it go. Needless to say none of us signed up for their membership Then we returned for one of their meal events , food was great , stories about their place were great - then weather was good! Ok we made point to come back ... did another event , this one had dancers , so it was nice ... the weather was cold and they didn't prep well to have heaters for everyone ... my group was left in the cold and not even a blanket was offered! Bullock! We asked for a heater fire and they didn't have anymore , ok, purchase more ! My mates didn't have anymore blankets in the boot of the car so we're were left to freeze, we finished the food and left right after dancers left, I bet they were frozen too! Back to the future and we're in 2025 ,,, ugh! We went back for more wine and had quite a bad service, the lady seems to be annoyed to pour drinks ... I thought that was the point of tasting room ?! We decide to go literally down the road to a place we'll leave unnamed but give initials here ( KB) - they were amazeballs!!! The groups had so much fun and staff was attentive and checked in with us - WOW WE USUALLY Don't sign UP FOR MEMBERSHIP RIGHT AWAY BUT WE HAD TO , the KB place is that's good ... but back to Stonum Ugh! We wanted to like this place but the continuous bad service is not worth it , the attitude given not worth it .... Was in town and Stonum was located close to the home we were staying in. So luck of the draw, we went in for a tasting. We were the last party of the evening and the wines were fabulous. We ended up bringing home the jam, the Malbec and a bottle of the Chardonnay. The Chardonnay didn't make it home, we drank that the evening we came back to the house. I believe the owner and another young lady was in the tasting room with us, sharing facts and history of the winery, much appreciated. The atomosphere was beautiful, serene setting, easy parking. REPLYING TO Kathleen S - the owner. FIRST OFF! We did not get a conformation email after purchase of tickets, yes I did give the correct phone number. I think I know my own phone number. I had it for 2 decades. Someone on your end enter my phone number Wrong! We had a horrible experience with one of the owners, she's young and inherit her family's business and has no idea how to run it. We had bought tickets for the Luau. First off we got no confirmation of our purchase, nothing was not emailed to us, Secondly, they change the time of the luau just days before of the event, third, They wrote down my phone number wrong, so I got no call of the time change, it was supposed to be at 4pm but it got change to 3pm, so we were an hour late at no fault of our own. Owner was not apologetic, was not offer a extra complimentary glass of wine. She didn't feel bad once. No email to us of the time change, poor announcement of time change on their Instagram account. The sad thing we really like the vineyard and the wines and was going to become wine members. They need a professional management team that knows how to run a vineyard, like all the other vineyards in lodi and lockeford. No story OR post on thier Instagram of a Big Banner across the luau post saying in big letters and numbers, "EVENT NOW STARTS 3PM-6pm NOT 4pm-6PM. Our second stop on our socially distanced wine tasting weekend was Stonum Vineyards. When we arrived, we were the only group there and it was wonderful. By the time we left, every table was occupied but the Vineyard is following all necessary precautions and ensuring the health and safety of all of its staff and guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting and ended up purchasing a bottle each. Unfortunately, they can no longer serve their famous lumpia due to pandemic restrictions. We were able to purchase a small snack box with locally sourced products and homemade cookies. read more

We had the pleasure of planning and catering a 100 guest wedding this past weekend at the beautiful Stonum Vineyards! My gosh were the grounds beautiful. Our now newlyweds, used both the adorable cottage for getting ready, as well as the loft space in the large barn. The cottage is where the bridal party got ready, from start to finish, and the loft space in the large barn is where the groomsmen got ready. The large barn was also the main location of their cocktail and appetizer hour. The long bar was perfect for multiple guests and allowed for good flow through the room. There was great communication between us and the vineyard manager Fran. She was incredible! She has a very genuine, kind and loving personality which made for a super easy collaboration. Her heart is for her guests and it is apparent she loves what she does and has great knowledge and experience in hospitality. She event stepped in when we lost a waitress and helped serve food! Truly a selfless act which she did with a big smile and beamed with joy as if she had cooked the food herself. Fran, you are truly a gem! We look forward to be able to work with her again. Fran and Stonum Vineyards are now at the top of our venue list and will for sure be recommending them to all of our future clients! I always seemed to miss visiting Stonum Vineyards and Winery. It was closed for a long time or missing from the Lodi scene while still being listed as open on Yelp and the Lodi Wine site. They are now open and ready for business along Alpine Road on the east side of Lodi. Parking is a little small with overflow on the street. The concept is more wine bar than winery catering to the modern tourist. They have a large barn for their tastings with upper and lower assigned seating. I sat with a nice couple from the Bay Area which was fun. Unfortunately the barn so loud that I could not even hear then across the table. There was a large and boisterous party upstairs making it difficult to endure. The wine was mainly from other parts of California. I get that a lot of new wineries in Lodi don't have access to the local stuff, but what's the point? They had some interesting stuff, but nothing outstanding. We did appreciate the complimentary cheese plate and lumpia though! Overall, Stonum is just an average winery in Lodi. They seem to be focused on the groups and couples wanting a weekend group buzz rather than an intimate wine experience. The facility is beautiful but is easily overwhelmed. Steer the limo to a real bar instead. read more

A beautiful winery with a fun tasting experience. My best friend and I had a great time exploring the grounds and taking photos after our tasting. The barn itself is modern with lots of comfortable seating where you can complete your tastings. We sat upstairs on a cozy couch and the staff brought by each wine we were going to taste. They also paired some with cheese and lumpia! The wines themselves were okay, we didn't feel the need to buy a bottle of anything. I would definitely come back for the ambiance. read more

My husband and I have visited 99% of the wineries in Lodi and don't know how we missed this gem! I know it's one of the newer tasting rooms but not so new that we shouldn't have already visited! Wine was fine, and the area around was really nice. Unfortunately, the staff there was not particularly warm. We went for a wine tasting and they did not make it easy for us to finish their selection. Staff acted like it was a chore to have us at their winery even though it was not particularly busy. We even offered to make their jobs easier by sitting outside and going in ourselves for new pours for the tasting, but often they didn't even let us know what the new wine was. It was like they didn't even want to make the sale. Maybe the winery is better for 1-2 people at a time, but definitely would not recommend for a group larger than that. read more

Great little winery in Lodi that has a fantastic setting for enjoying a bottle while you take in some sun. The staff is incredibly friendly and always extremely helpful. Fran in particular has gone above and beyond to help and even when the crowd is large she makes the time to see if there's anything she can do. On to the wine; I'm normally not a fan of white wines and generally skip them during a tasting, but I was convinced to try a couple my first time here and was really impressed. It got my to join their club. On the second trip there I decided to try some more and once again I was impressed. The whites here actually outshine the reds, which in my experience rarely happens. They have a pond with tables to relax and enjoy wine, they also have chairs facing the vineyard, and chairs around a cauldron. Not a great experience and I really wanted it to be. Party of 6. Sat outside which was not really a problem but the service was horrible. Older lady came out for the first pour, had a few rude comments about one person starting her tasting, got very little from her and she disappeared after that. She sent someone else that pour each tasting but could not answer any question or tell us about where the grapes were from, what varietal etc. Please understand what other wineries do to make an excellent experience. read more

My daughter had prom in Lodi. It happened to fall on a super rainy day. The employees not just allowed them and their group of friends to come in and take some dry pictures, they showed them around and let them take as many pictures wherever they wanted. While the product is always vital, for me personally the service is everything. The couple that helped us this afternoon was phenomenal. We were greeted immediately and seated with a great glass of a limited 2014 Sauvignon, coupled with a plate of cheese and crackers. As we ventured into the reds she brought out some of the best lumpia I've tasted to date. Stonum will definitely be a location I frequent when in the area. The Sauvignon aged in the oak barrels were by far my favorite, followed by the 2015 VI Estate Zin as well as the Cuvée. A great experience!! read more

We were looking for a nice winery to sample Lodi's fare before returning to the bay area and Yelp helped us find this little treasure. I've had my fair share of Wine tastings at Napa, usually as a last-minute walk-in when the mood strikes me. Over the last few years, this experience has often felt like being at a really crowded marketplace with little time to savor the ambience or the wine. My experience at this small, family run Winery in Lodi was completely on the other end of the spectrum. The tasting room was large and airy, our group of 6 friends were able to sit comfortably together while the extremely friendly and professional staff kept us engaged with wine and snacks. The lumpia that accompanied the reds was a particular highlight, as was the cheese. The Zin was my favorite though most of my friends gravitated towards the Cab. read more
