Lack of communication, lack of skill in grooming and lack of confirmation in scheduling. It took forever to get an appointment because she didn't read her FB messages. She apologized profusely, okay I can forgive someone. She had to fix the water at her house, okay life happens. She needed to change the appointment because she needed to pick her son up. I'm a sucker for young moms because I am a grandmother and an earlier appointment worked fine for me. I asked her to cut my dogs hair to a specific length and showed her a picture. She didn't cut it that way but she is still learning and I paid her a very big tip in cash, she was going to fix it. It was during the cold spell so I was okay with it. I BLEW IT AND MISSED AN APPOINTMENT WHICH I WOULD HAVE COMPENSATED HER FOR IF I WOULD HAVE HEARD BACK FROM HER but I did not pay the deposit because she was going to take responsibility for the job that she didn't do. Admirable until she blows up on me and then tells me that I missed a second appointment. I missed one and as I said I would have compensated her in cash (I'm dealing with identity theft issues and have had to replace my credit card yet again which delays my ability to use online payment systems)but she didn't confirm the next appointment via text, phone call or email so I didn't know if I had an appointment or not. I had liked her, was charmed by the fact that her grandmother who had recently passed away taught her the trade of dog grooming, and was a complete sucker for a young mother. I gave her grace for the unprofessional behavior due to her age and being new in her business. There were life issues that were understandable but that I would not have to deal with by going to a company. I like working with a small business as I have owned businesses before. I was not given any grace in return or the curtesy and respect of communication. I guess that is something that comes with maturity and losing business. She was thrilled by how much I paid her. It's surprising that she didn't think about how much money she was losing by dismissing me as a client. I suspect that she made her mind up about what she thought I was doing to her, instead of finding out just how good it would be to be a trusted service provider for me and my dog charlotte. I knew I didn't want someone random off of an app coming into my place everyday, so I was so thankful when I met Marcia. My dog Dolly is truly obsessed with her to the point of embarrassment Marcia is not only super reliable, communicative, and trustworthy, but she LOVES dogs and they love her. I love the daily photos I get when Marcia takes my dog on a walk or a play date with other dogs. She has such great practical advice (training, recommendations for boarding, etc.) & works with Dolly on obedience, socialization & desensitization, which I'm so thankful for since she's a puppy. Ever since meeting Marcia, I no longer think twice about having her come to my place & take Dolly on walks. Even though I'm home more now, I can't even deprive Dolly of seeing Marcia- she has that much fun. Other ways she goes above & beyond: wiping off their paws if they're muddy, brushing their fur (a godsend for doodles), giving them water on hot days, positive reenforcement of good behavior, high quality daily photos & progress reports, cleaning up any potty accidents (so helpful for young puppies who get overly excited), follows strict COVID-19 sanitizing protocols, and she even will bring a package that's been delivered inside off your front stoop!! Our dog is reactive and selectively dog-aggressive, and we've seen significant improvement since Marcia started working with her on training walks. I do not know how my dogs were treated as I cannot ask them, but I do know they were really happy to come home.

Seeing her trot away with Annie and not look back when we leave speaks volumes and puts our minds at ease while we are away. Sadie is always exhausted when we pick her up from all of the running and play time she gets on the property. Several times, Sadie has needed medication for minor issues during her stay and Annie administered it without hesitation. Annie is also extremely accommodating when it comes to the drop off/pick up times. She even has given us random tips here and there when asked. We now live in the Fort Worth area and refuse to board Sadie anywhere here because we know that no place will compare to MRSD. Annie/MRSD is truly a gem!!! :)

We don't even call it boarding because they aren't in a crate or a pen all day....they get to run outside and for this reason, we call it The Ranch! Oh yeah and food is included in your boarding rate (good quality food)! I will say I was hesitant for 2 reasons at first-1) the distance out of town and 2) the pricing is structured differently than most boarding places. But 1) it is really not that far out of town and it is totally worth every mile to have your dogs come home happy and exhausted from running at the ranch. And 2) it's just a different pricing structure that was MY fault for not paying attention when I read it. So pay attention and you won't be surprised but pleasantly happy when you realize you don't have to pay more to pick up at 6pm instead of noon! They no longer send photos to us as proof of walk and validation our dogs are happy. Rather than send photos to the owners, they take photos which are relayed back to corporate. I'm to believe this change is somehow beneficial to me? They have stated they no longer have the capacity to manually relay photos to clients, but ARE able to manually relay photos to corporation. A tad counterintuitive and certainly not focused on customer. They've also stated having a lock box at my house makes me more secure because they no longer hold onto keys. Sure, unless someone takes the box, their employees access my house after hours, etc...It's the same situation as before except more people have access to my keys than before. OH, and every update they give us online are EXACTLY the same day after day after day. Clearly, my dogs do not pee and poop the same number of times weeks in a row. They continue to insist clients love all their changes and fail to acknowledge any decrease in service as a result. It's "my perception," which clearly doesn't matter and is dismissed as a minority view rather than at all validated. What was once a good business has taken a hit. UPDATE: NO phone calls. No responses from the Dog Butlers. Having now talked to friends, found out they've dropped Austin Dog Butler.

He has been looking after my dog on a regular basis. Cool thing is that when he is finished checking on your pet, he sends you a personalized email with a pic of your pet. Cost is soooo reasonable compared to boarding. He is a life saver. If you are considering a similar service just stop, call, and give him an opportunity. He has several clients throughout the downtown apartment buildings and has easy access. So well worth the time and very little $$$.
