The lack of hookah lounges in Oakland is real, but luckily Fremont is a short drive away, so I found myself here around 7pm on a Thursday with a friend. We ordered a Regular Hookah (~$22) with a mix of Blue Mist and Grape Mint flavors. It took a few minutes for them to prepare the hookah so in the meantime, we chatted and listened to the music they had playing. The hookah itself tasted pretty good. It lasted for about 2 hours but we kept having to ask to change the coals since they were burning too quickly. All in all, Dream is a cool spot to hang out and grab a hookah. The layout of the lounge isn't ideal, in my opinion. But if you're just looking to relax and smoke hookah, Dream will do the job! read more

Hands down my favorite spot in the Bay. I drive from Emeryville just to come here and so worth it. The hookah is always exceptional. To be honest, I don't think there was ever a time I had complained about it being too harsh or not enough. This spot has a great selection of tobacco. The customer service is great too. I have been to many spots around the Bay and all of them fall short to Dream. The staff is always checking up on all of us and are always around for coal refills, tobacco refill, and just to talk with us. The atmosphere is dope too. Music is on point and so is the decor. I love it when I find new places to take my friends who enjoy good hookah and a chill atmosphere. We went in around 6pm last night (when they open), and they opened right on time. It's small, but cozy inside, and the room is lit entirely with blue lighting. Interesting vibe. Abdul (I hope I spelled his name right), gave us 15% off because it was our first time! It's so nice when business go the extra mile to make sure you have a great time! He also went over the entire menu for us, giving us a quick explanation of each category. Cheesecake?? I will try that next time. He recommended White Gummy Bear with a little bit of mint, which my friend and I ended up enjoying very much for the next hour and a half or so. They were very attentive in changing the coals! And on top of that normally I've paid at the end Bc I'm not sure if I want a refill or something and the owners have respected that and trusted me to pay at the end. Disclaimer**** This is my personal experience. I was visiting a fiend in Fremont this past weekend and I was so excited to go to this place because I always liked going to the hookah places in the bay area before Covid-19 hit. First thing first they took forever to bring our hookah and right after when we sat down after paying at the front desk, the guy who was serving he came to us and said 'Hey guys we are closing in 1 hour'. We were fine with that but then he kept coming after every other 10 minutes and kept telling us the same thing. He had a huge group of people sitting on the other side. IDK if they were his friends or whatever because he was smoking hookah with them, those people were so loud and then they would get up one by one come to the front and give us a weird stare, say something (I did not understand what where they saying ) with a loud laugh and go back to their seat). My friend and I felt very uncomfortable and on the top of that this guys who was serving the hookah he comes again and tell us guys we are closing in 15 minutes. We felt like that this experience was very unpleasant. We got up and left since the other whole group was still there and heard they were still grabbing some stuff from the fridge. If he did not want us to be there he could just tell us right after we entered and i do not think it's cool to treat other people differently just because they knew an other language or may be they were his friends. read more

Experience presented in order it occured: 1) host stopped smoking her hookah and greeted us promptly at the door as we entered. super sweet female hostess. 2) cheapest glass hookah I've ever seen at $18. Basic flavors u usually find at other lounges, but definitely cheaper! 3) we stroll in, find a 2 person booth with a game board... located under the air conditioner unit.... 5 minutes into settling in, the air conditioner unit drops its entire condesation reservoir on us....also, very uncomfortable seating. However, they do have sweet wall art. 4) slowest customer service ever. Sweet & professional but SSSSLLLOOOOWWWW. Lets start at the coals: Apologized profusely of why coals take 20+ mins to arrive after dropping the hookah off, as they only make coals as needed. First, this is the Most absurd thing I've ever heard considering your main business is to serve hookahs which need coals. Second, The F#$K??? all the workers and their friends/acquaintances had at least 4 hookahs going on before we arrived, how do u not have coals for your customers when you have coals for your self?.... now after the coals were served.... never came and checked up on our coals. I had to wave them down, told her to change the coals because they're small and not hitting, and at first she just ashed the coals put em back and asked me again if it's hitting, repeated my self for new coals.. 5) 0 stars for the bathroom..... omg, seriously I've used cleaner bathrooms at rest stops on i5fwy and gas stations anywhere, including the hood in deep east oakland. Toilet is completely covered in piss...not a little bit, but it's built up around the seat hinges to the max, like it's crusting up... streaks down the front like it's the Niagara Falls of Piss. They also had no toilet paper or paper towels, they did have soap. I went and asked the hostess for paper towels and toilet paper, she just handed me 2 rolls of toilet paper to take with me and I'm assuming for me, the customer, to put them in there for her. Then we paid and left at 1am. I'll likely end up going again as a last resort only because Fremont doesn't have many activities open late besides Denny's. I'm very sad to say that I had a bad experience at this lounge. I expected so much. The moment my friend and I walked into the lounge, a man approached us and the first thing he said was "Can I see some ID?". He did not say Hello, or Welcome. He sounded like he had an attitude. It was my first time so I didn't understand. But I let it go. My friend had left his ID in the car, and he had to go back and get it. I showed him my ID and he told me to proceed to the counter to order. When my friend came back, he gave my friend a hard time about leaving his ID in the car. He asked him why he would come to a hookah lounge and not bring his ID. He also told him that he is the owner and he can kick him and "his girl" out whenever he wants. I'm guessing this man forgot that humans make mistakes and forget things at times. I believe later when my friend went to talk to him and tell him he didn't appreciate the service he was receiving, the man apologized. Other than this, the workers are nice, they come around frequently to check up on you, they have good quality tobacco at a decent price. The music was mellow when I went. It was nice. The furnishing and decor looks more professional than some places I have experienced. There is a great restaurant right next to the lounge so they chose a good locations. I'm not sure why I had a bad experience. I did not expect it. I got a very bad vibe from the "owner" and I do not respect the way he does business. Have to update, and am sad to say this wont be like my previous review. My friend and I wanted to hookah so we looked online and saw that Dream opened at 6 pm. We get there at 6 and the doors are locked, and it is dark inside. Ugh. But we figure they are running a bit late, so we go back around the building to wait in the car for them to open. In the meantime we decide to call them to see if they are open, as opposed to walking back and forth. We must have called 10 times throughout the next HOUR, with nobody answering our calls. We also walked back around a few times and the store was still closed. If you are not going to open at 6, then change your hours online to reflect that! When we finally got someone to answer our call at 7 pm, we asked what time the store opened and a rude man said 6pm. OBVIOUSLY NOT. super annoyed at this point but we go in anyways since we have nothing else to do. We get our hookah and begin smoking it, and soon we both start feeling weird.... Now we both smoke occasionally, and ive been smoking hookah for years, And I have NEVER gotten so sick from hookah in my life. We started feeling lightheaded, nauseous, and disgusting. It was so bad I had to walk outside to get fresh air!! Now if it was just me fine, but my friend got just as sick! We left without finishing to say the least. Chill ass place! Unlike many of the lounges in the east Bay Area, this place gives you your own tongs! Might sound standard but a lot in the hayward area don't let you mess with the coals at all. Big point for me. A little more expensive but the bowl lasted notably longer than the cheaper places I've been to. I sat around for more than an hour and didn't have to change out. But in that case, make sure you get a flavor you like. Comfortable seating and two tvs up on the walls. Got Wi-Fi and space for larger groups. No dancing area, but that's not what I'd go to a huka lounge for. They're friendly and attentive and look like they're having a good time themselves. That's wsup. read more

Although I've been here a couple of times a little over a year ago, this review is specifically for Dream Hookah Lounge since it's under new ownership... I came in twice this weekend and I was not disappointed! First and foremost, it's great to have something other than the Bowling Alley to do late at night in Fremont. Secondly, parking is ample. You can either park on the street or in the lot to the rear...both are free. Next, the place itself. Although it might seem a bit small, there's plenty of room to be comfortable. You won't feel cramped at all. Unlike other hookah lounges, this one is very clean. The decorations are pleasing, the effect lights aren't too much and the music isn't too overwhelming. In addition, there's 2 TV's and a projector. So you might catch some music videos, a movie, the news or even sports! The staff are all very friendly and prompt. The hookah is nice and doesn't come across as harsh. As for the prices, they're comparable, if not cheaper than other lounges. Equally as important: THE BATHROOM IS CLEAN! I'll definitely be back!
