I ordered 'to go' from Falafel, etc. in Fremont about a week ago, and it was a very good experience overall. I got the lamb shawarma sandwich, tabbouleh salad, and a side of French fries , everything tasted really fresh and flavorful. The staff were friendly and my order was ready in about 10 minutes, which was perfect. Even though I took my food to go, I noticed they have both indoor seating and a really nice outdoor seating area that I'd definitely want to try next time. Falafel, Etc is a hidden gem tucked into an unassuming corner of a strip mall that has clearly seen better days. When I stopped by, the place was completely empty, but the lack of a crowd was quickly offset by a warm and friendly welcome. The gentleman working was extremely personable and even offered helpful recommendations on portion sizes based on how many people I was ordering for. The dining area itself was dimly lit with plenty of windows, and while I ordered to go and can't speak much to the dine-in experience, it's easy to imagine the space feeling brighter and more inviting during daytime hours. The food, however, was the real highlight. We ordered both the lamb shawarma sandwich and the falafel sandwich. While I'm usually partial to lamb shawarma, the falafel here truly stood out -- crisp, flavorful, and exceptionally well done. We also added a side of hummus with pita, which was smooth, fresh, and a perfect complement to the meal. Overall, the food was filling, satisfying, and full of flavor. I used to come to this place at least twice a week in past when I lived in Fremont. I haven't been there for about 2 years since I moved to Sacramento. I stopped by yesterday me and my wife and we got 2 falafel sandwiches and lintil soup . I have to say this place went down hill since it's new owners taking over . The falafel was dry and looks like it's couple of days old . Falafel suppose to be fresh and little warm . It was horrible with no taste . I got a stomach ache after and had to go buy tums to calm my stomach out . I have to say lentil soup was ok . I will never come back . On top of that staff wasn't very friendly:( read more

We were craving some Greek food and thought we'd give this place a try. It was just average. What we ordered: + Lamb Kabob Plate - one of the kabobs was burnt (see pic) and really not edible. It tasted bitter, and meat was like jerky. The other kabob was ok but still a bit dry. Also, the plate was supposed to come with rice, but they gave us hummus instead. + Chicken Shawarma Plate - the chicken was chopped into tiny little pieces and was also dry. When mixed with the yogurt dill sauce it was ok. + French Fries - this was limpy and dry, with an almost dehydrated consistency. Overall, a bit disappointing. I recommend their falafel plate, that's why it's called "Falafel, Etc." They're always crispy, soft, and flavorful, and go well with hummus and Tabouli salad. The rest of the dishes, like the Lamb Shawarma and the Chicken Kebab Plates were alright. I recommend getting their Kanefe for dessert; crunchy and cheesy with honey. I preferred to order takeout since there wasn't anybody dining inside. The service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant remained clean since nobody dined inside during lunch. This place is actually pretty good and there's hella parking. Currently there's a bunch of construction so you have to through these "high value" apartments to get to the location. I went in and ordered just a chicken shwarma sandwich and a drink. The workers there were attentive and hella nice. I started eating outside which was nice, but moved inside. Overall the food was good and the sauce and cucumber smacked. I would get a plate here next time. read more

Found this little whole in the wall in Fremont. Chicken was very tender and moist. Lamb was seasoned great. There is construction going on the Main Street so had to detour to even find the restaurant so they should have a sign or something to let customers know they are still open. Not sure if it was food handling or just an off day, but that's a deal breaker for a lunch spot...when you can't trust that you'll feel okay after eating there, it's hard to recommend. Even as a local, I honestly had no idea that this place even existed. It's tucked away in the back of a mostly abandoned strip mall. You can tell that this place has been around for a while, and there's something charming about that hole-in-the-wall homestyle feel (and even smell lol). The food was fresh, well cooked, and good quality! I enjoyed it. However, it was a bit bland and just, flavor-wise, missed the wow factor needed to take it from "not bad" to "really good". My husband goes to this restaurant many weekdays for lunch. This past Saturday was the first trip for our 12-year-old and me. It's a counter-service restaurant located in a cute strip mall, hidden in a residential area off the main road. The menu is short, but offers a nice variety. The service was very friendly. It was my 12-year-old's first time having Mediterranean food. The man at the counter who took our order kindly offered descriptions of each dish she inquired about with a smile. We ordered baba ghanouj, a falafel pita, a kafta plate, and dolmas. For dessert, we had baklava and a sabrina cake. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas. We chose to eat indoors because it was windy outside. The lighting was low; the windows offered plenty of sunlight from outside. I imagine it gets pretty busy on weekdays, but at 5:00 pm on a Saturday, there were only eight diners, including us. My husband's kafta plate was one of the more expensive items on the menu, at $19. The falafel pita was $11. I made a meal out of the baba ghanouj ($6.60) and the dolmas (6 for $6.60). Servings were large (we all brought home leftovers). We loved everything we ordered, especially the baba ghanouj and falafel. While you can certainly order a plate for dinner, consider ordering a few sides instead - great variety and reasonable cost. The slices of baklava were generously sized and very good. I liked that they were not overloaded with syrup. They weren't dry by any means, but less syrup meant a better balance of flavors, in my opinion. The sabrina cake was a first for all of us. I am not a fan of whipped cream (the frosting), but the cake itself was a treat. The rum and sweet syrup were in nice balance, and the cake was deliciously moist. We will be back! My favorite falafel in Fremont and probably in the Bay! Their combos here are amazing value - they let you swap out any of the sides (which are all delicious). All of their proteins and falafel are absolutely amazing, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Don't forget to ask for their sauces too! The hummus and baba ganoush are to die for! read more

Went here since we heard about the falafel from a friend and yes it's true some of the best falafel can be found here. Super fresh and moist I would take a side to go if I was in the Fremont area and make pitas at home. Everything else was pretty mid including the chicken kabobs the salad, the pita, and the plain white rice we were served. Good spices and presentation, the rice was fluffy and the hummus was hearty, but overall the cafe style menu doesn't impress. This is by far the best middle eastern food I ever had! I stumbled upon this place after completing a 6 mile hike at mission peak. The owner is an amazing guy who cooks with passion and love - and believe me you taste every bit of it. The atmosphere of the place is great and clean. The huge tvs in the restaurant are set to gourmet cooking shows which makes you crave the food Mr. Kebab has to offer. The owner makes the falafel from scratch and his secret ingredient is not skimping out of the parsley- real organic shit. This place is so good, Keith Lee would rate it a 10. Falafel wrap- 10/10: I asked for it spicy and it delivered. Perfect spices and blend. The wrap didn't break with all the amazing contents. Hummus- 10/10: I wish I could take a jar home. Used to really love this place. Best falafel sandwiches and many good sides as well. Soup was good too. Not sure if it's been through one or two new owners since the original retired. My guess is two owners. The first owner after the original kept things pretty much the same and it was still pretty good. 95% as before. Last time we went it was completely different. No bread came with the baba ghanoush. And it didn't even taste like it was vegetarian almost some kind of meaty taste in it. The soup tasted nothing like the prior soup.
