I've been in Physical Therapy for 16 weeks because my quad muscles are froze up. 25 years ago a drunk driver hit me head on and I suffered many fracture,including a broken hip. I understand they can be short staffed and the massage therapist also has to stop and answer the phone or their front door.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It didn't used to bother me, until now. The therapist left to attend to the door right after I had turned over for the 2nd half of the massage therapist. When she came back, she worked on my face. She touched my chin, my ears like they normally would. I didn't think anything of it. Minutes after leaving, my chin and behind my right ear were red and throbbing. They felt raw. A few days later, my ear is still raw behind my earlobe. This was where she massaged immediately after returning to the room. I don't know what she touched but she didn't wash her hands between the front of the office and return to my massage. It could have been anything but it feels like someone took sandpaper to the back of my earlobe. I'm angry. It could have been something as small as a grain of salt, sand or any other irritant (chemical or otherwise). They handle money, pens, their phones, the doors, all kinds of contaminated items when they leave the room and return without washing their hands. I am angry about this, unfortunately, the lady who gave me the massage, the same one acting as the receptionist did not speak English fluently and I don't know how helpful it would be to comeback days later and try to explain to her why I'm angry. So I stashed my Whip there. I rolled in to Dream Spa and looked at the wall and there were Permits and Certification Certificates posted on the wall. Then a Masseuse came out of a Private Room and told me there would be a little wait as she was with a client . I was fine with that. I told her I wanted a half hour massage . So she collected my $35 dollars and showed me to a Private Room . The Massage Room was quite nice . It was Clean , Dark and Aroma Therapy Candles Burning . I got ready and was Chilling on the Massage Table when my Masseuse arrived , She started playing some easy listening music. I then laid out on the Massage Table and asked how much pressure I liked and I said I like a firm touch . My Masseuse got the Pressure right on the first try. . She had a very nice touch and technique . I got so relaxed , I actually fell a sleep . The Half Hour flew bye . My Masseuse woke me up at the end of the Massage LOL. I tipped her $10 and rolled out . Time for a relaxing day with my bff. We used to go one of those reflexology places but a cousin recommended a good Thai massage. So I looked up a couple of places and settled on this one, made a couple of 90-min "back walking" massage. We knew what we were getting into. We like that good kind of pain and the deep tissue massage and we both needed since it's been a while since we got together and were both a bit stressed. The lady (Mary) was so sweet when we checked in asking if we've ever had the walking on back experience before which I did, not so sure about my friend. They really only walk on your back for about 10-15 minutes then move on to the deep tissue. They will constantly ask you if you're ok with the pressure and I was for the most part except for some areas and they will gladly adjust. At the end, Mary was still showing concern, almost apologetic in telling us that we will be sore the next day because of the deep tissue. And didn't I say we like that kind of pain? The kind that hurts but feels soooo good? Happy to report that not only were we not sore, it took care of the pre-existing issues that we had. I liked this place but had an issue. They were able to get me in the same day before they closed. I liked how nice they were and the massage. Next time I'll ask for more pressure if I ever go back but didn't like the lighting. Normally places r a bit dark in the room and it was like the lights were barely dimmed. Also I told the lady to charge a tip of $20 to give each massager $10 and she charged me $40. It's like they charge the card what they want not what the customer said. Ok so to start off positive, best massage ever! My mother in law pre paid for an hour and a half massage as a Mother's Day gift. Probably. I have done that & never felt as amazing as this, just ever! This woman really knows the human body and how to give a top massage. I told my hubby if she was in the massage Olympics, she would take home to gold! I was in heaven! Only thing I didn't like was that they and all other places walk you up to the front and wait for a tip. I work as a bartender in the area so I rely on tips, yet I allow the customer do do so at their own free will without feeling forced. The best massage in union city at this price point. The place is in a strip mall behind a KFC. It is a family operation maintained by three sisters. All three of them are great masseuses, CMT labelled, understand English well enough to operate and provide a great service. I find myself tipping north of 40% every time I visit. The massage is that good! The room decor and lighting could use some improvement but the lobby and rest rooms are well maintained. You might notice a conversation between the staff in Chinese once you are in a session. I have learnt to ignore that, given their limited staff and their troubles with juggling multiple clients walking in at once without appointments. Yesterday, I was in the area after spending several nights in a hotel while I helped a sick friend who is currently in a skilled nursing facility. I had a terrible headache, as well as neck & low back pain so I thought I would treat myself to a deep tissue massage. I had limited time so I needed a walk-in appointment. I went to a different place first who said they could take me yet after I paid $60 cash for a 1 hour massage, the person said they did NOT have any therapist available for 30 minutes. Unfortunately, I really didn't have the extra time to wait so I asked for my $ back & came back to Yelp to find another nearby Asian-style massage place to call & confirm immediate availability. Thankfully, I found Dream Spa and had a 1 hour deep tissue massage with Eva! Eva only asked me once about the pressure; otherwise, she just went to work & relied on my to speak up if I needed in adjustments to pressure (which I actually greatly appreciated since other massage therapists sometimes ask too frequently about the pressure thus breaking up the flow of the massage). The 1 hr deep tissue massage was $70 and was totally worth the investment due to convenience, cleanliness of establishment, & quality of massage! After calling Calla Spa in Union City and getting a sad reception on the phone I decided to call A Dream Spa after reading all the great reviews. When I called as was able to score a appointment immediately (please note is was 11 am mid morning). Lisa answered the phone and was the one whom also gave me the hour and half massage. I read the reviews were she is also the receptionist and answers phones in the middle of your massage, I was lucky she only had one call come in during mine. As for Lisa as a masseuse if found her to be amazing! She asked what hurt and what areas to stay away from...nice thing she listened. I felt so amazing after my massage, the pressure was perfect but she would check periodically to be sure. I'm a kind of person that I like to sleep durning my massage and I was so glad that I was able to do so. Please note when you use a cc there is a two dollar fee. Was a little miffed but after my message I didn't care. Price was reasonable I opted for the 1 1/2 because it was so reasonable $65.00.
