I was hesitant to go here but I really needed a massage that day because I have been moving and had many aches and sores in my back. The place I was going to go to did not have availability. Then I found this hidden gem. They do hot stone and cupping here and it was so worth it. I got the 120 min + hot stone + cupping and my masseuse was able to get the knot in my back out. I get a deep tissue massage from Mary. She is very professional. Once you specify focus areas (legs, lower back, shoulders), she makes sure she spends enough time in these areas. Hot stone treatment is beneficial for sore muscles. She also asks how much hand pressure is desirable. She maintains that hand pressure. You can ask to adjust the hand pressure to be reduced or increased. I have been quite happy with the massage service. read more

Service has really gone down. Nana, Lisa and Huihui are not trained in massage at all. It's mostly a rub oil on your body place now. Same manager but different masseurs. First they confuse you. I just needed foot massage which is for $25 per hour . The person at the front desk offered me full body massage for $45. Before I agreed she swiped my card. I told her I don't have time for this and I just need foot massage, she started blaming me and said she can't refund. So I asked her to give me foot massage alone. She agreed and took me to a room. The pluses, they have good technique. Even the women can do really hard massages (which I prefer). The water is really hot compared to other places. I have low expectations for most foot massage places, but the experience was REALLY bad, breaking that floor. The big problem is the owner, not the employees. The attempt to sell us on the more expensive options, thats fine. That's just savvy salesmanship if done right. Since they were understaffed, the owner did my massage. Oooh, that was a terrible idea. She had to leave me every 5 minutes to deal with the door, take a call, take a second call (since she has two phones), argue with customers over the groupon to make it harder to redeem, etc etc. She would yell across the room to talk to someone over my head, nullifying the 'relaxation' part of the massage. Sometimes she should would balance the phone one one hand and halfheartedly massage me with the other hand. And since I came with someone else, we happened to end around the same time even though she was gone for stretches of time. I felt ripped off. Her employee had the decency to apologize for the owner's behavior when the owner wasn't looking. The large man at the front (maybe owner) did not speak English, and it was very hard to get what I was asking for. I wanted a one hour foot massage, but that seemed impossible. Finally, I insisted only foot massage (no back), and he pointed to the "foot massage" line on the sign for $25. I then realized he was asking for money upfront. I tried to explain that I had never been to a place that made me pay before receiving service, but he did not understand, and I paid. An older middle-aged masseuse was at the front counter throughout my ordering. She brought a bucket of water for my feet, and then I was very confused when she started massaging my neck and head. Her hands smelled like nasty cigarettes. I figured she was just waiting for my feet to soak, but after 20 minutes or so of her awkwardly reaching down my shirt (stretching the shirt's neck out while I was on my back), I was sure she had the wrong type of massage. When she asked me to roll over on my stomach, I was positive, but it was too late. The foot and leg massage was pretty good, but more of a rub down than any specific reflex points. The back massage was awful, with lots of up-and-down motion and no precision muscle stretches. I felt her sharp nails much more than I have ever experienced before I was worried it was a scam, and they were going to ask me for more money when the hour was done. Not sure why this place got 5 stars, but my husband and i went here and got the 90 min combo, 30 min foot and 60 min body massage. If you want a foot and leg massage yes this is a really good place to go. However, if you want a shoulder or neck massage go elsewhere. When i go to get a massage, i go to get my knots worked on, specifically in my shoulder blades area. That's really the main reason i go to get a massage. The arms and legs are just a bonus for me. But their technique here is very rub up and down your back style and not a lot of focus on pressure points or musculature. My husband enjoyed his massage. I read a lot of yelp reviews from people who seemingly love to complain and bash on every little thing, and while I never really saw the point of leaving negative reviews, I'm sharing this now because I was extremely disappointed with my last visit here and would hate to see another person fall into the same position as well. I've been here three times already for a one hour full body massage in the last year. I would honestly get one from this place every week if I could, but I live in NYC and would be in knot-free heaven if I had this near where I lived. In fact, I actually had an unpublished draft of 5 stars that I had never gotten around to finishing because if we're strictly reviewing the massage itself, it's a solid 4 stars for your typical Chinese no-frills massage. The pressure is there (both the women and men deliver on the strength) which I find nearly impossible nowadays at Chinese massage establishments, so that in itself is a real plus for me. However, if you prefer to go gentle, they can cater it according to your preferences as well. The primary focus is always the back, but I really enjoyed the arm & head massage that's included as well, as I carry a lot of tension in my arms and hands. But what I have a problem with is the ethics of this establishment and delivering on what they say they're going to do. I clearly remember running 10 minutes late to our arranged time, and starting closer to 7:30 pm. Before the start of the massage, my normal massage spot in NYC would set a timer indicating the start of the massage- that never happened. Throughout the entire "1 hour", my masseuse was taking phone calls of others calling to make appointments, and while she never stopped, it might as well have been nothing because she was only lightly rubbing while on the phone. And then afterward, she would set reminders of the appointments on her phone, while I was still face down in the midst of my massage. Then when the phone pinged with a notification, she went to check it. You get the point. This happened at 3 times while I was on the massage table. I felt very cheated of my one hour, if it was one hour. I clearly noted the time in which she started, and as soon as she tapped me indicating the end of the massage, I went to my phone immediately to go check. Lo and behold, she finished at a time less than an hour from when I even stepped into the building and paid. Add in all the interruptions and that one time she left to go wash her hands for 2 mins and that's pretty much 15 minutes short of what you paid for. I confronted the lady about this situation at the end and what bothered me more was that she was pretending that she never shorted me those 15 mins. Only after I showed her my proof that I didn't even step into the building until 7:20 did she just start apologizing, saying she was the only person available to answer the phone when there were at least 4 more male workers sitting around chatting- yeah that's definitely plausible. To them, it's only 10-15 mins, but to anyone else, it's dishonest and disrespectful to be given a service any less than what's was arranged beforehand, period. Even the part of them asking for money upfront before you get your massage seemed a bit sketch, but I can look past that if I got what I paid for. News flash, I didn't. And after reading the other reviews, it seems like this is a common theme at this spot. I mean this with no disrespect, because my massage was amazing and I loved it. However, I cannot get myself behind a business that purposely deceives paying customers and denies it when caught. It's just wrong. Would give 0 if possible I paid for a body massage (60$ for an hour, $5 extra for using credit-card), and was directed to the massage room. The masseuse entered the massage room after smoking outside, and had a strong smell of cigarette smoke. The massage started. A guy in the front office was coughing incessantly and was blowing his nose right next to the massage room. The masseuse wore a partial mask (masks are mandatory at this point as per state law), with her nose open (totally defeats the point). The place had no air conditioning or good ventilation, and when I told her for the third time that I am sweating, she put me on a phone call with someone who could speak english. The person on the phone said it was hot because the rear door was not open. Then another lady entered the room (without permission) with no mask on, and was talking something loudly. It was too much already, and I left the place in 20 mins. Did not care to stop by the front desk (the coughing guy was still there, no mask) and ask for a refund. We just came to do the foot massage but this lady name Mary forced us to pay the full body massage which is super expensive other than the place that we used to go with a good service. But this place is so unsanitary..There's a lot of hair in the carpet and smell so bad. She answered the phone for the business four times during my massage and actually stayed on the phone talking with customers as she was massaging me and stopped several times during my 90 minute appointment to talk with customers and to take a personal call. My massage therapist is named Lucy, and she smoothed and soothed my aches and pains in that 90 minutes. She doesn't speak English but she sure knows how to knead the knots.
