I have been a customer of Drexel Hill Pizza for 45+ years and after their online ordering menu changed my order to pick up instead of delivery, I called to get it delivered and they "couldn't change it because if was a Friday night," I then said I'd pick it up but I didn't want to and called back to say cancel the order. Well I got SCREAMED AT AND TOLD NEVER TO CALL THERE AGAIN. Well congratulations you just lost a long time customer. Whoever is running this place now is an idiot. read more

I recently worked at this place and had to leave because of the way they treated not only me, but the other employees as well. They have a "your easily replaceable mentality". I would not recommend anyone to work here. The owner of the place is extremely mean and very impatient. His son is not much better. I've never been treated like this at any job ever. The pizza is good, but I would never give these people my money. I was degraded the second day that I worked there for not knowing where everything is. Degraded not only in front of employees, but customers as well. The owner even told a customer how shitty of a job I was doing and thought I didn't hear him. He wouldn't care if I did any way. They ask for to much with minimal pay. I know I did a good job for these people, but it was never enough. I only worked there for a week because I couldn't handle being treated like that everyday. Sadly I notice this place has really gone downhill in just the past couple of months. I have been a regular customer here for several years, and their food used to be great. But, recently, it appears the young grandson of the owner has taken over their daily operations, and the food quality has deteriorated. Also, there is a young woman at the register, (possibly girlfriend) who also helps out in the kitchen, and she is totally incompetent, untrained, and is inappropriately dressed and groomed, for this type of a restaurant. She wears very low cut tops, has long nails, and long hair. I have seen her play with her hair then touching the food. If you're working in a restaurant kitchen, you need to be covered, perhaps wear an apron, and a hair net, or at least tie your hair back, and keep your hands clean! Basic restaurant hygiene! I'm going to avoid going to this pizza joint in the future. Also, the parking is really terrible, in front of the store. Very challenging to back up safely into busy rt 3 traffic. read more

For 35+ years I have been getting their pizza and never have been disappointed, until tonight. No the pizza wasn't bad, but the attitude of the one employee was beyond atrocious. Upon walking into the establishment I could tell they were slammed. It was Friday night and usually that's the norm. However I wasn't prepared for what was about to happen next. I witnessed a staff member absolutely irate and berating the staff for their slowness and mistakes they were making. It was above and beyond the normal chatter. This employee was cursing at the staff and didn't matter who it was. He was even yelling and screaming at his father. I decided enough was enough and called out the young man at the counter. He wasn't having it. He began yelling at me. I remained calm and reminded him that I was a customer who has been getting pizza here for 35+ years. That didn't matter. He proceeded to tell me that his grandfather acted the same way on Friday nights. Once again I challenged his aggression and stated I have never seen this type of behavior or language from any employee their in my 35+ years of patronizing the establishment. It took ever ounce of will power within me to not put this young person in their place. Finally his father stepped in and deescalated the situation. Thank goodness my 8 year old child was not with me because that kind of attitude and language would not be tolerated. Rest assured their quality and taste of their pizza is out of this world, but the grandson who claims his grandfather acted the same way needs a lesson in manners & respect. Food is decent. My family really enjoys there Pizza. But the Owner and employees are TERRIBLE... Every time you call they are always rude and down right ignorant. This has happened to me before and I gave the place multiple chances, well not anymore. Take your rude ass to retirement. Yuck! I ordered a vegetable Stromboli from there. Sooo nasty! They use frozen vegetables with lima beans in it. When I called to complain they told me that was their specialty. God help them then. I demanded a different Stromboli and was told I had to pay for it. So I said I'm coming there and I want my money back. Walked in, Threw the Stromboli on the counter and got my money back. I liked the service. The girl behind the counter was super friendly and my stromboli was very good. I feel bad that employees have to pay for all of their sodas, even the first one, as a big sign on the wall says. I also like that they are open later than anyone else in town, wawa doesnt count. Im at work and my partner had a differnet experience. He ordered a steak sandwich with NO CHEESE, he mentioned this to them twice on the phone and again when we picked up our food. He ordered it with mayo, ketchup and mustard, yuck. I guess they got so fixated on the bizzare toppings they forgot to hold the cheese and my lactose intolerant partner got half way through the sandwich before realizing this. So it's going to be a long night for me and for him. I would order from there again but I would keep the order simple but my partner may have a differnt opinion. I wish I could give zero stars. This place is extremely rude especially over the phone. I called 20 minutes before they were closing for a delivery and when they answered the phone they said pickup or delivery they got very rude and said I can't get a delivery anymore and then hung up on me when I asked to speak to a manager. When I called again and asked for the manager they hung up AGAIN. This happened 2 more times until I got cursed out and hung up on. Not a friendly place whatsoever and are extremely rude. This is THE best pizza in the area. Everyone else I've tried around here is serving dried cardboard with sparse toppings, but Drexel Hill Style Pizza actually knows how to make a pizza worth paying for. If you're disappointed with the pizza options around here, then try this place, it stands apart. Also have a great variety of salads, my favorite is the Queen. It is packed full of salami, olives, eggs, cheese, pickles, tomatoes, onions, etc. and makes more than a full meal. This is definitely one of the better pizza places around Broomall and Newtown Square in my opinion. When I go to visit my dad's and we get pizza, I always pick Drexel Hill Style Pizza. The pizza actually tastes real and their sides are just as good. The only "downside" is you can't really eat there with a large number of people and parking can be fun as you try to back out into West Chester Pike. The quality of food and taste compared to other pizza joints in the area is the real bonus. read more

I live out of state but when I'm in town I always order. Today was the worst experience that I've ever had. On my first initial call they weren't the nicest then it took over an 1 hour and 20 minutes to get the pizza, had to call and inquired about the pizza, they replied it's on it's way. The pizza arrived cold, over cooked full of grease. I called them just to complain about the pizza temp and I was told they wouldn't make a replacement now because they have 7 other pizza deliveries to go out but when they find time they'll make me a new one and send it out later. Love this place!!! It really doesn't get any better than Drexel Hill Style pizza, it really doesn't. Their green pepper and onion pizza is to die for!! The veggies are a generous helping and the cheese!! OMG they really pile on the cheese. No need for extras. Also the crust is delicious. You really get a generous pizza here and its worth every penny. Ernie's pizzas are the best, and one can tell he really cares for good food.We go no where else for pizza but Drexel Hill style!!!! Love this place!! Delicious Greek pizza, great burgers, banging meatball Stromboli and the steak fries are no doubt perfect every time! Always fast service(usually 10 mins)and always great food!! I had the pleasure to grow up in broomall and eat this pizza for as long as I can remember. To this day it is still the best I have ever had, from their pizza's to mozzarella sticks (homemade), to their french fries. No other pizza shop compares to these guys, trust me, I have lived all over the country. No one compares. I honestly don't know how they do it, but it's consistently great every time. Solid pizza and decent delivery service. Sauce is good and ordered here a few times now. They are also a little cheaper than some of the competition and the quality is there. Delivery has been consistently been between 20-30 minutes. We live a few miles away, but they do well even for their Friday nights. ThunderBird is good, but this place is priced better. Our go to place for Delivery. Simple fast and reliable. Pizza is consistent and tasty. We call it no frills special. If you go in the store, you realize why delivery is the only option. The fries have a special mix that lets you know its Drexel Hill. Being in business for so long means you are doing a lot of things right. read more
