Drinks are on point and food hit the spot. Surrounded by the beautiful views made for such a fun experience for my family. Family-friendly and had tons of food options for the picky kiddos. The bartender was amazing and remembered our drink order and even who we were. She already knew before we even ordered which made the experience all the better. Would love to go and visit again.

Staying at the hotel. Read the reviews of people having difficulty ordering. Came here during off peak time for lunch. Was able to grab a seat and enjoy the view. As stated already, service is slow, so just pack your patience. Most guest seemed either annoyed by the slowness, or just ignored it. If it's not too crowded, you could definitely just hang out there for hours. Food- had the pulled pork fries. Server recommended it as best thing on the menu due to quantity and price, probably agree. This was $13. But most items are typical island prices. Had spicy margarita $15, but good. Overall it's the only game in town if your staying at hotel and awaiting dinner service at Shutters Lounge

So this past Friday was National Burger Day. I love burgers and will eat them pretty much anywhere I go to. Took a quick dip in the jacuzzi and swimming pool, the pool menu had drinks and a burger on the food menu side. Made my way to Driftwood Bar & Grille towards the salt water swimming pool. Looks like other hotel guests are slowly waking up, also making their way to the pool and bar. The bar only had 1 lady bartending with all sides of the bar with guests. I couldn't seem to figure out where to sit, how to get myself known wanting to order something. She was going from one side to another, then I finally asked if I could order something. All I wanted was a Kauai Beef Cheeseburger. It was really quiet, no music, not even the television was turned on to a sports channel or the news. Of course, here comes more chickens with its chicklets. Food arrived in about 15 minutes by another staff, I guess there was a total of 3 girls working the pool/bar area. Burger was good, cooked well, nice and hot crispy French fries with all the fixings. I understand people are getting back to work as more travelers are hitting the islands. I just wonder why there seems to be so little staff running the bar. The foods got to be good because the customers next to me ordered the same item the day before and came back for more drinks. Maybe next visit the hotel will be fully staffed better.

Having stayed at the place next door twice over the last couple of years, I've come had the opportunity to come here several times over the course of both my stays. Each time the bartenders have been very quick, friendly, and attentive - service overall has been great! The food/drinks area but pricey, but quality is great! Heads up, the slushies are a bit syrupy - but i know some people like that. For me, I really liked the mai tais (I wish they had the same foamy mai tais they have at Shutters but we can't have everything lol), ultimate favorite was the lilikoi margaritas! For food - I highly recommend the fish and chips and caesar salad. Overall, perfect poolside/oceanside bar ambiance. You can even take a seat at a table by the pools and order from there!

No wonder why this place has 2 stars. The bartender is extremely rude and not friendly. She wears black gloves as well which is pretty gross because she is just spreading bacteria by touching everything with her gloves on. They don't have high quality drink options. I asked her if she had Prosecco and she said she had Corona. Ok, those are 2 completely different things. One is a sparkling wine, and one is a beer. She said she only had champagne. It wasn't good but I settled for it. For a pool bar located at a pretty decent resort, they should look for better staff that can spread aloha. This is really disappointing, and I'm a local visiting from Oahu.

i love this bar it's fun friendly and with Amanda serving up delicious spicy Margaritas shes the best! Best View Best Bartender! The Ahi poke Nachos are my favorite but then again the kalua fries are awesome.

Great happy hour menu... *****warning***** do not order to much. They offer big portions for $7.00. Winners... Pork tacos and umami fries... wings are good too. Last orders for food are sent in at 4:30 pm. Get there before then and sit back and take in the beautiful ocean view... (with a mai tai of course ) Food is delicious. BTW- Amanda the bartender is a rockstar... friendly and ready to get you that last drink and food at happy hour prices.

One of the better options at Kauai Beach Resort, which isn't saying much, everything is expensive and for the most part, not that great to begin with! However, I found Driftwoods to have decent food, at a much more reasonable price than at Naupaka Terrace or even Shutters. I had a wrap, and it was pretty good but nothing special. My wife had a salmon burger, which was pretty good. We also tried their chips and salsa - disappointing. Just what it said it would be, but not good for the price at all... Chili cheese fries were great when we tried them the next day however. If you're stuck at the resort without a car or just don't want to go out, Driftwoods isn't a bad option, and having your food delivered poolside is a nice perk as well (just be ready for a pretty long wait) Overall, not bad. Just not deserving 4 stars. I'd give it a 3.5 if I could.

Pool bar at the Kauai beach resort. We came here from the villas next door because we got wrist bands from a timeshare presentation. The area is really pretty and the staff is nice. The drinks aren't great though and are really pricey.

They had live music which was really cool! The food and drink is on the expensive side. Cocktails are in the range of $13-16 and small appetizers are around $15-18. They are shareable apps so we ended up getting 3 to try. I loved the seared ahi and the ahi sashimi and my husband loved the sliders. Also has a beautiful view of the resort. Overall good but really expensive.

The ribeye steak was asked to be done medium however in some parts it seemed like it was medium rare/rare. The steak sauce surrounding the steak made up for it but it was nothing too special. The truffle fries were the best part of the whole dinner experience. The fries were cooked perfectly golden brown and are shoestring fries. The truffle and parmesan cheese really made these fries shine as they are crunchy and soft on the inside with that hint of cheese. The li ribs were overcooked and hard. The sauce is good but i would definitely skip out on this. The kalua pig sliders were also another favorite dish of mind they tasted soft and juicy. The chicken wings were cooked to perfection and i really enjoyed this as well. We also had several drinks from this establishment as well but the ones that truly spoke out to us were the pina colada and lava flow slushies. They tasted very sweet but also had a good amount of kick towards it in the end. The passionfruit martini was also refreshing but did have a slight bitter taste to it. The mai tais were not the best i ever had but they are okay. Now we get onto the deserts. The lumpia cheesecake was very enjoyable. It was very crunchy on the outside and very soft and gooey in the inside. The kauai ice cream pie was overwhelmingly sweet. I would consider it if you love very sweet desserts but it was not for me. Some nice things to know is happy hour from 5-6pm /9-10pm and they usually have $5 off snacks & $4 off cocktails/drinks. They also have very soothing live music events during those times which could really set the mood. I loved the atmosphere this restaurant puts out. Is it the best restaurant on the island ? Probably not. But it's reasonable priced and the amount of food you get is a good price. Consider this place for good drinks and bar food while listening to nice music in the background.

Hubby ordered $75 Ribeye steak. It was beautiful He tried cutting it, only gave him a butter knife, the gristle was overwhelming. The meat was done beautifully but full of gristle. Everything took forever. Servers were nice, gave good info. So then comes the bill. Way high! We had to pay $25 "service" charge we asked? She said she didn't know asked then said it was to cover linens, etc. Another $5 charge for credit card processing. So $30 added to the $200.00 meal with 1alcohol drink and 1mocktail. While servers were sweet the service sucked not just an island time thing. They had two other tables to serve and three wait staff and were visiting and having a great time with someone at the bar. The sauces were fabulous. We wanted to like it but left feeling like we were ripped off. I was sad but it was the best shrimp scampi I ever had;(

This place has an extensive Italian menu, and a huge drink menu showcasing a vast collection of bourbon. All of which is wildly overpriced, which is to be expected in this context. No complaints there. It's the Italian menu. Well, not really the menu...the cooking is horrific. We ordered a Hawaiian BBQ chicken pizza. A 16" thin crust which should have been a nice treat on an island with no shortage of fresh chickens and pineapple, and with a solid love of BBQ. The waitress was friendly and I was very optimistic. We also ordered some salad. The food came out quickly. First the salad. The lettuce was flimsy. The salad dressing was tasteless. It was basically some limp green lettuce and coarse chopped bell peppers. The salad was disappointing, to say the least - you have to seriously not give a rip to make a salad that boring. Then the main event! The pizza arrived. Complete with that nifty metal rack thing they bring out so that your pizza seems to hover over your table. The table did not have red pepper flakes, extra cheese or even salt and pepper - which I figured was a good sign. It looked OK: small chunks of chicken spread thinly across a 16" pizza, with small pineapple chunks (all of which were strangely uniform in size) and a pretty generous splattering of BBQ sauce mixed into the melted mozzarella. I sliced myself a slab of that pie and got ready to eat! One bite told me everything I needed to know. The uniformly shaped pineapple chunks had that telltale slightly metallic flavor because...IT CAME FROM A CAN! Hawaiian sacrilege! Then the BBQ sauce hit. I couldn't tell if it was from unsold McRib sandwiches, KC Masterpiece, or a jug of plain wrap BBQ SAUCE from the Big Save Market. It wasn't good. Then I reached the crust, which seemed like it came out of one of those Pillsbury tubes you get at the store and smack on your kitchen counter to get it to pop open. Nice for wrapping hot dogs for 7 year olds, not so great for pizza dough. The Hawaiian criminal code should include a felony for serving canned pineapple to unsuspecting pizza eaters. Bobby V's doesn't even have a beautiful Hawaiian vibe going for them. The ambiance is the disastrous hell hole called the Coconut Marketplace - a pointless commercial development where they ripped out real Hawaii and built simulated Hawaii. There are several other restaurants walking distance from this place, and even a McDonald's that's not so that far away; even the egg salad from a dispenser in the men's room at a nearby gas station is probably better than the pizza we ate (and it might make you a genius!) While attempting to eat a piece of their awful pizza - I watched as several plates of very overcooked pasta were served at nearby tables. The pasta was clearly very mushy and it didn't smell very good either. Perhaps they serve good desserts, depending on what's on sale at Costco. The beer was good...but someone else made that. Don't just skip Bobby V's, run! Run! And warn the others. I'm an absolutely hard pass on this place and you should be too. UPDATE: We got home from our trip and put together a Costco pizza kit for a late dinner. It was 10X better than Bobby V's pie, and cost about $3.
