Cool, it rhymes, always worth a few stars when you rhyme the name of your business. Drink And Ink is a place, which as you can guess, is a bar and tattoo parlor. It's not like they're actually tattooing people while they're doing shots. Honestly it's like two separate businesses run by the same owner, with just a little separation between each. They maintain standards like not tattooing those who are intoxicated. As for the bar side of the business, it has some pretty good drinks. It's really not that expensive for around here. They could charge a lot more. It's about $8 for one of their seasonal cocktails. Last time in here I got the Cider House Mule. Besides the clever name, it was also a pretty strong and tasty cocktail. This was apple infused Four Roses with cinnamon, with a soaked apple slice. Good shit for autumn. The apple slice was all loaded and had quite a kick. Get a drink, and get ink. As bizarre as it is, my friend and I went into Drink and Ink just to sit and talk at a bar! We didn't order any alcohol but our barista was kind enough to offer us alternative options to drink (this amazing sparkling water and pineapple juice) it was great! If you ever have a thought about getting a tattoo, come to drink and ink. Not only are the professionals able to inform you appropriately, but the place is so cool to get inked up. This bar next door to the tattoo factory is the best place to watch someone get inked while having a nice drink. The bartenders are great, and honestly the bar is nostalgic. The bar itself is lined with tattoo sketches. There are video games to play. There are also decorative jewelry (for piercings) lining the bar too. Overall such a cool place. read more

What an absolutely adorable bar! I was not sure what to expect when we were invited to meet some friends here for birthday drinks. I have passed this place many times, knowing that it was a tattoo place. I sort of imagined that you could sit and watch your person get a tattoo and have a drink while doing. Didn't even occur to me that it was a separate bar. From the street there is nothing to suggest that a very cute and cool, chilled vibe place this is. It is small, so I would not go there late at time during these COVID times, but for an early drink, it is a most welcome addition to our rotation. The bartenders and the owner were very friendly and chatty in a nice way. They made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first time there. And the regulars are nice as well...I spent about 20 min talking to a gentleman who said he regularly comes in on Tuesdays but happened to stop in for a drink after shopping at Target. They do have monitors so you can watch people get their tattoos done and outlets under the bar to charge your phone...nice! There is great art on the walls, the bar and the ceiling and the drinks are reasonably price. Best of all, they have splits of bubbles, so you know I am in. The Doctor and I will be paying this place a visit for drinks. I think they let you bring food in as well, but I would call first to verify. read more

LOVE this slightly voyeruistic bar. Sidle up to the bar, and watch people next door at the tattoo parlor make bad decisions. In the form of tattoos. When we were there, we saw two people bail before the process was over. What do they do, then? Overall, a great place. The bartenders are very friendly, chatty and adorable. I came in here on a Tuesday evening, so I am not sure how it is on a Friday or Saturday night. But I loved this bar, mostly because of the bartender and his Nintendo 64! He has it set up in the corner and has both Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. You can play for free! Very fun way to spend the evening. Drinks here are a bit pricey but he hooked it up for us a little bit. Recommend trying their IPA on special because it's worth the price! read more

I'm never really in Uptown, but when I was meeting some people for the Full Moon Fire Jam, we decided to meet up here beforehand to get some drinks. Despite being on Broadway, the bar was kind of difficult to find since it was somewhat connected to a tattoo shop. Once i spotted it, it turned out to be a tiny watering hole that is actually in business with that aforementioned tattoo shop, so much so, that in the bar, you can watch their live stream of the tattoo shop in multiple angles. Kind of an amusing, yet odd experience, but it stuck in my head for this long. Drinks were well priced. They had a small list for drinks on tap but they had some cans and bottles. Bit too small of a joint to organize a party in there, but cool enough to have a tiny get together. Also, they have a TV with an N64 console plugged into it! Way to reach out to us millenials! So I randomly decided to get my nose pierced on a Sunday night around 8pm and after went over to 'drink and ink' for a drink. I was first introduced to Drink and Ink on a friend's birthday. That was the first time I heard of this place but I thought the overall concept was pretty cool. I was surprised and a little disappointed by the size of the bar area. The bar is tiny and since the bar stools are bolted to the floor it doesn't allow for you to make more room. I can see this bar being a nice place for someone that is looking for a smaller bar with cheap-ish drinks. I absolutely loved the artwork around the bar especially on the bar stools. The bartender informed me that the artwork on the stools was actually tattooed onto the leather. The bartender was extremely nice and full of great information. I would definitely recommend checking out the artwork around the bar. The best feature of this bar is that they have monitors that allow you to watch your friends get tattoos from the tattoo parlor next door. I was able to watch my friends get tattoos while enjoying a nice beverage and not having to sit in a boring tattoo parlor for hours. This bar is pretty cool if you want to try something different but not really for that long. I don't see myself coming back here because bar overall was slightly boring. read more

This place is like Cheers, but a Cheers for drunken tattooed patrons. Drink and Ink is a great bar in Uptown serving great pints, bottles and cans. And while drink your beer you can watch on CCTV the people next door at Tattoo Factory being tattooed. All on four monitors above the bar. Cool concept! Drink and Ink has a warm ambiance and the fellow patrons are friendly. They have great beers specials. (a beer and shot for $4.50) I'm in! I am responding to my friends MK review below... the response is appalling. We went to tattoo factory to get our tattoos and were suggested to get a drink at the bar until our time was up. We ordered a drink and closed out when it was our turn. We went back because my friend did not finish her can of wine and the bar told her he was holding it for her. After our tattoos we went back and she finished her drink and I ordered another. Our total bill was 32$. My friend sent me the receipt the next day thinking I signed for her. WHICH I DID NOT AND THE SIGNATURE ON THE RECEIPT IS NOT LEGIBLE AT ALL. We then noticed we both have random charges on both of our cards - when she's the one who paid for the bill. Pictures below -since the respondent stated we were lying. We cannot dispute these charges as they were on our debit cards... we thought we found a local bar we would frequent apparently not. read more

Hi, I'm shocked to see the business response. Like I said, I did not sign the bill. I have a receipt signed by someone else. And my friend saw her charges on her debited from her account, she did not sign anything. We had a great time there and have no "vendetta" against Josh. We just noticed these charges after the fact. We got tattoos and loved those as well. No personal feelings here, the charges were unwarranted. Video will show us having a great time because we did! And I'm not going to go to my bank for 50 or so bucks between the 2 of us, I'm just warning other people to pay cash. read more

I've got two ways to judge a bar. I am a huge fan of microbrews - it means a lot to me to have a great selection of brews. Drink and Ink has a very solid selection of brews - but nothing on tap - so I can't give it four stars until they get the taps going. However, the second thing: Easy and comfortable atmosphere, this place has at an almost magical level. I'm a shut-away from Seattle, how do I keep getting into chats with everyone at this place? So, a skeleton of grace and beauty lives here - someone just needs to get a draft beer into the lovely bones of that hand. read more

Went here after getting a tattoo next door w/ some friends. The cool thing about this place is that they have 4 monitors that are attached to cameras inside the tattoo parlor, so you can see people (in my case, my friends and I saw each other) as they are getting their tattoos. Yesterday, myself and 3 friends decided to venture to this location while awaiting our tattoo appointment at the tattoo company next door. We walked in and although the atsmosphere seemed "cold" we decided to stay and order a few beers and a couple of mixed drinks. The bartender did not greet us with a "hello" nor "welcome" he simply raised his hand to signal "I need to see an ID". We ignored the rude gesture and continued to proceed to order & he finally vocalized that he needed to see an ID. Once we showed him our ID, ordered, and received our drinks my wife noticed that the song that was playing abruptly changed to a different song. The new chosen song had racist language in the lyrics, we were the only 4 African American customers represented in the bar and immediately felt uncomfortable. We figured that maybe our ears were playing tricks on us, utilized the shazaam app and took time to listen to the song today. The song that was playing is "If That Ain't Country" by David Allan Coe. & the offensive lyrics in the song are "Working' like a nigger for my room and board". I am not stating that we felt threatened, but we did feel an extreme level of discomfort. All customers deserve the same respect regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation. We will NOT visit this location again. read more

This has to be the neatest and cleanest bar in the city. It's a hidden gem. The owner had to spend a lot of time in designing this bar! Walked past this place a ton of times and went in for the first time last night. I'm so glad I did! The first thing you notice is how clean everything is.
