Our refrigerator water dispenser had been leaking for several months and we had brought out two different highly rated appliance repair companies to come out and take a look at it. Unfortunately, neither of them was able to diagnose the issue. Kendrick came out and was able to identify the issue and fix it for us. HORRIBLE COMPANY. I was advised they would come between 11AM-3PM, and at 10:40 the technician Rafael calls me several times, asking if I am already here. When I tell him I'll be there by 11, the scheduled time, he says it's not a problem, as he's a couple of units down, on the same floor. Rafael says that he could wait. I arrive at 11:03 and go into my unit to put some groceries down. The technician texts me at 11:10AM to say he left; when I call him IMMEDIATELY, he's already DRIVING somewhere else, so he obviously left at 11. He says I was supposed to be there from 10AM to 2:30PM, and says that he doesn't have to wait around. He then hangs up, and Driscoll's refuses to answer their phone, even turning their phone off. Driscoll provided service for us in May. I'm just getting around to the review. Our oven, with no warning, decided not to heat. We had this problem a few years ago. It's an aged wall oven. I decided to call Driscoll after being impressed with many happy reviews. Ken responded fast. I explained our issue. He asked gas or electric and gave a ballpark quote for what he thought it might be. I gave available days I was home. We scheduled for Friday that week. His tech came and diagnosed the problem. He was super responsive, and after getting some info from me, gave me a ballpark price on the repair and suggested we should buy a new set. Gave me a quote and told me they would have to order parts (it could be 1 of 2 issues but would not know for sure until installed). Had an issue with my dishwasher's door latch not closing/locking in correctly so I naturally found this 5-star rated appliance repair company on Yelp to have come over to fix it. After about 15-30 minutes of what sounded like mumbled curses and the heavy breathing of labored struggling of pushing, pulling, turning of screws on the machine. Mr. Driscoll said that it was fixed and should be running ok. Upon testing it we had noticed the door is still not locking in place when shut and it could still be easily pulled open without pulling on the door's handle. Mr. Driscoll just said that was normal and that the new latches just need to be warmed in by the heat after the washer runs a few times.. He then charged me $125 for his "work". I paid him on venmo but continued to express my concern that the door still isn't fixed to how it was before the door handle stopped locking in place. Now he was clearly upset and was huffing and puffing about how he has been "doing this for over 20 years" and had never encountered a problem with a dishwasher like this before while also suggesting that the latch was the wrong model and that I needed to get a different one. Okay, so why didn't you just tell me that in the first place before you wasted all that time and energy pushing and moving my dishwasher around damaging the bottom (I later found out that the hose and pump on the bottom was leaking and broken; which was not an issue before). He also tore up and threw out the insulation around the dishwasher saying that there was too much of it and that it wouldn't fit. Yes, it's a tight fit but that's the whole point of having that insulation there! They were there before and they fitted fine. The washer is extra loud now without the insulation. Furthermore, the door now is no longer able to stay open half way. If I let the door crack open it just falls all the way down to the floor. I wish that Mr. Driscoll would have just been upfront and honest from the beginning and said we needed the correct part before he can attempt to fix it before damaging the machine further and not charging me at all.. He eventually and half-reluctantly venmoed my $125 back after I continued to express my concern and disapproval. Overall, just not a pleasant and professional experience from this service company. read more
