He was clear about the service call fee (which is to be expected with tradesmen) but it would be applied toward the cost of the repair if I decided to proceed. I was considering purchasing a new dryer from either Lowe's or Home Depot if the cost of the repair was high. He opened up the dryer and quickly found the problem - a broken belt. The part was difficult to find because of my brand of dryer. He was back within the hour with the part and had my drying humming along perfectly. Cost of the repair was less than I would have paid in taxes, had I decided to purchase a new dryer. Glad I called. I would highly recommend James and his small business. I contacted Marcello in the late afternoon of Wednesday and he came later that same day to diagnose the problem. Showed up on time, figured out the issue, and told me he would order the part in the morning and come back the next day to fix it. Literally exactly what happened. No fluffs, no upselling, cleaned up after himself, was professional on the phone and in person, and just told me what to expect and that's how he delivered. Service call was $75 and it would be applied towards the repair. I knew that was fair based on cost of gas, travel time, his knowledge of appliance repair, and the time to diagnose and repair the problem. My parts cost was roughly $200 and since I paid in cash I received a little discount as well. I would absolutely recommend Marcello to my family, neighbors and friends. I suspect that the Yelp area is not quite accurate, since Philip mentioned that he covers over into Norwalk as well, but certainly on both sides of the LA and Orange counties. He estimated that he would arrive between 6 and 7 PM, and did so at 6:45 (still in the time window). During the visit he was very direct, no-nonsense, quickly identified the inverter issue, had a replacement part on hand, and was able to install and confirm functioning in about 45 minutes. The final cost was $350, in line with his estimate, and a bit below some quoted prices I got from other vendors. I was quite satisfied with the communication, ability to identify and repair the issue, and overall value. I have mentioned Philip to my neighbors in case they have an issue. Philip is able to service other appliances (except for AC units, though he knows someone else who specializes in that).

He didn't have the part he needed so instead of rescheduling and coming back another day he went and picked up the needed part, returned and installed. Everything works great now. Zentek, reached out within the first 15 minutes and said they had same day availability within the hour, which was amazing on a Sunday. Asher and his assistant came within the hour, troubleshooted the range, and determined it was the motor. The part was more than expected for the fan, however, the best option for us given the circumstances. Asher was transparent and very fair for the scope of work that needed to be done. I paid for only the part, and within 3 days the part had arrived, with an install date of Saturday. I would say that was fairly quick! Asher arrived and within a couple of hours had my range working just as new. For being a newer company in business, and i believe a smaller shop, I was impressed by their professionalism, responsiveness, great communication, friendliness, overall value and willingness to do right by the customer. Frank provided me with a quote of $1,800 on June 8, 2026, for my popcorn ceiling removal project. We discussed the scope of work multiple times to ensure we were on the same page, and the appointment was confirmed for June 19, 2026. Based on that agreement, I stopped looking for other contractors and arranged my schedule around the project. However, the night before the scheduled start date, Frank informed me that he would not perform the work unless I paid $2,500 instead of the originally agreed $1,800. When I asked for an explanation, Frank stated that he thought I would be giving him additional projects in the future, such as electrical work, flooring, and other home improvement jobs. While I may have mentioned that I have other projects around the house, I never agreed to hire him for those projects, nor was the $1,800 quote presented as being dependent on receiving future work. Our discussions and the Yelp referral were specifically for the popcorn ceiling removal project. If the quoted price depended on additional future projects, that should have been clearly communicated before the quote was given and before the appointment was confirmed. I feel it is unfair and unprofessional to increase the price by $700 less than 24 hours before the scheduled start date after we had already agreed on the project terms and date.
