For the East Dundee location: The team at Driven Auto are generally personable and willing to help. We specifically came for a vehicle that they had listed on their website that was within our price range. Adam was kind (we felt no pressure) and went on a separate test drive with both me and my husband as we had our baby with us and weren't able to all go at the same time. The purchase process was fairly easy and we were happy to walk away with a new to us car that same day. After driving the vehicle home, we started to notice a grinding/clanking noise. It progressed and continue to get louder, so I called as I was concerned that it could be a significant safety issue. They got us in the following Monday and were able to determine that the front passenger side control arm needed to be replaced. We are grateful that they got us in quickly and replaced this free of charge. Unfortunately, there are a few issues that we are still having with the vehicle. The active noise cancelation system (ANC) has a microphone issue. Instead of reducing road noise, it is amplifying it when accelerating between 25-35 mph. My husband pointed this out when we brought the vehicle back for the control arm, but they were unable to fix that component. Also, during our test drive we noticed a noise that sounded similarly to an electronic deadbolt locking/unlocking (gear grind) when locking/unlocking the car. This was something my husband asked about but was told it was normal. Unfortunately, however it is not normal and it is actually a failing fuel lid actuator that we will need to replace as well. A few other issues have included tire sensor and display screen connectivity issues. I know what you are thinking... you bought a used car, expect issues. Yes, yes I know. This is just a warning for due diligence, as I'm not sure what type of service checks are done before these vehicles are listed. Lastly, the only other issue is the "I Owe, You Owe" contract. This was something we were asked to sign with the promise that the dealership would provide us a second key to our vehicle within 30 days. I made multiple requests regarding this, with the last 3 requests being within the last week of that 30 day contract. On the two occasions that I spoke with Max, who had also signed the "I Owe, You Owe" contract, he had told me he had been too busy over the last few weeks to call about a second key, but would get it taken care of. This is frustrating as I guarantee if we had "owed" something, and didn't follow up within 30 days, this dealership wouldn't have taken that lightly. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. My experience may meet the definition of consumer fraud under Illinois law, and I am pursuing legal action. They sold me a car with a known issue, misrepresented its condition-putting my safety at risk-and refused to replace the failed parts when the car broke down just a few thousand miles later. The full story: I bought a used Tesla here in October 2024. There was a steering alert on the dash--salesperson Ibrahim said he would fix it. After I got home (an hour away), the alert returned. Ibrahim told me the car was in great condition (which was materially false) and that the warning just needed to be reset. A few thousand miles later, the car became inoperable. Tesla confirmed the issue was due to worn suspension parts that existed when I bought the car and quoted me over $3,000 for repairs. The dealership marked the warranty disclosure as "N/A" and failed to note any defects, which I've since learned may violate Illinois law (815 ILCS 505/2L) because the car had under 100,000 miles. They refused to cover repairs--even if I used their own shop. Their service lead, Omar, quoted me over $1,300 to fix it. I was pre approved for an auto loan and from a major bank, I explained to the sales person specifically who I wanted to finance my vehicle through the pre-approved bank, he assured me he would deliver. I believed him. As I reviewed the documents I signed it was apparent he misled me. The financing was through there loan financing bank. Nonetheless, I have A1 credit. I talked to the sales person and he assured me to pay three months of timely payments and I complied. Therefore, he said would refinance my loan through there financing company at lower interest rate. When I reached out to him to follow up to refinance the loan at the rate that I deserved with my outstanding credit rating. Nonetheless, he stated, "Do you like the vehicle." I stated "Yes." He then replied he couldn't change the rates and said pay the loan sooner that would bring the loan down and help adjust the interest rates. That's not the answer I was looking for. Therefore, I thought to myself well I would go back and apply to the original pre-approved loan and refinance my vehicle loan through that bank. I applied for an application to refinance my vehicle. Keep in mind I have excellent credit. I received a letter from the bank and was denied, there reason why it was denied it stated."Hail, Flood, Fire, Structural Damage, Non-U, Salvage or Branded Title." I called the bank they assured me of there findings. I explained to them in my contract I signed in corresponding block stating that the vehicle had not been hail damaged or marked "NO." Plus the Car fax report said no damage to the vehicle. They stated there findings were accurate. I went to the seller to resolve the issues, my original sales person who was present, I didn't even get a chance to talk about the issues with that sales person. I was immediately approached by a different sales person who was not familiar with the issues. He of course did not answer my questions about what the issues were. He didn't resolve them, and promised me on April 13, 2026 he would call me back with a resolution. As of this writing I have not received a response. I purchased the vehicle in good faith and if I had bad credit they would have not given me the time of day. Therefore, I have lost the motivation and faith in the car buying experience. read more

Last week, I bought my first car from Driven Auto Sales. As a first time car buyer, I was nervous about going through the experience. The staff at the dealership made the process pretty smooth. There were some communication hiccups, but everything got smoothed out. I took away one star for that and because I felt like a staff member caught a little bit of an attitude with my dad over the phone. I don't like when my parents are disrespected for looking out for my best interest. I also feel like they were pushing me to buy the car while I was trying to secure financing from an outside source. However, I'm not really upset with that because I feel like maybe a good amount of dealerships do this. Some highlights, which definitely outweigh the two negatives, overall the staff was friendly and helpful. When I bought the car, the right mirror wasn't working properly so they fixed it for me at a small cost. I also had issues with the new tires that were put on and they sent me to Firestone because the tires were put on there. Driven Auto also advocated on my behalf and I walked out of Firestone with my tires fixed for free. Definitely don't regret my purchase and I love my car! Came to buy a specific car. If I hadn't been looking for that specific car, I would not have dealt with them. They failed to inform me of some issues with the car such as the exhaust pressure valve being stuck, and cooling fan not functioning. I took it to a proper dealer to have it inspected, and apparently they installed the pressure valve upside down. Also the front tire had a slow leak and was flat the day after I bought the car. Avoid this dealership like the plague! Seriously. DO. NOT. BUY. A. CAR. FROM. THESE. PEOPLE. Every single person who works there is a miserable, incompetent, thief. They will look you in they eye and lie to you. They will absolutely take advantage of you. I bought a used Honda Accord from them about a year ago and I wish I had gone literally anywhere else to buy a car. I went for a test drive in the car with Adam and one of the first things he asked me was why I didn't bring my dad or my boyfriend with me to help me out. He said a lot of other really misogynistic crap too. I asked him repeatedly for a copy of the inspection that they did of the car when they received it and he refused to give it to me but continued to assure me that it was a good car that was safe to drive. I asked if I could have my mechanic come and look at it and he flat out told me no. I needed a car urgently and took my chances. I knew it was a bad idea but I didn't really have another option. After buying it I took it to my mechanic to check it out and it was in pretty good shape except that the front right ball joint was one small bump away from snapping. He was so concerned about how dangerous it was that he didn't even want me to drive it back to the dealership. Also, when I bought the car the windows didn't roll up or down. They told me they would fix it (and I got it in writing) so when I took it back the next day to be fixed I reamed them for selling me a car that was categorically dangerous to drive. They told me in a very patronizing manner that I was massively overreacting. I insisted on speaking with their head mechanic Peter and he said that they would replace the whole control arm. I waited for 2 hours for them to fix it and they eventually gave me a loaner and told me to come back the next day. When I came back to get it, the windows were still broken. So I had to wait another 3 hours for them to fix the windows. When I got the car back, the windows worked but they had messed up the door lock actuators so that you can't open the back doors from the inside (like a police car) and all of the doors have to be locked and unlocked manually. Fast forward a year, I was leaving to drive to work and the axle of the car snapped in half. I had to replace the axle and both of the ball joints that they had supposedly "fixed". I'm certain that they either a) didn't fix the problem and sat around to waste my time, or b) "fixed" it with crappy used parts that were just as shoddy. If I had been driving when that happened, someone could have gotten killed. My takeaway from the whole experience is this: Peter, their mechanic is a lazy moron and everyone else is a schmuck. I learned my lesson and I now know better for next time. I'm mostly just writing this so that other people don't have to go through what I did. Someone shouldn't have to be on guard 100% of the time to avoid being screwed over and end up buying a car that is going to kill them. These people put on a good show but just do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

When I filled out the credit application I specifically told them to only send it to Capital One since I was pre approved so I wouldn't get hit with more than one Hard Credit check. Well about 3 weeks later I received a denial notice from Wells Fargo. They also tried to pull one over when offering an extended warranty. "They will run your credit without permission " I came into this dealer ( The Oak Forest) location to purchase a truck because my Credit Union's website had them recommended. I was pre-approved by the credit union so I did not need financing. I was told my social was needed to get the payoff of my trade-in. I stressed I did not want to give my social and did not under any circumstance want my credit ran. I left the dealership at 1pm with the truck and checked my email at about 7pm to see my credit has been ran without my consent or an application. When I contacted the dealership I was told the system automatically runs credit ( a bold faced lie). I have asked for a letter to send to the reporting agencies and have been blown off. Now as for the lengthy review: Hats off to this place; standing ovation! Ibrahim, Bill and Mo have found a customer for life. Being that I have an addiction to buying cars, what I discovered yesterday (Driven Auto Sales) might be the equivalent of a Methadone addict finding a Meth House offering nearly free Meth (Don't confuse my analogy, there is no Meth at Driven, so if you are looking for drugs, you are going to be very disappointed). However, if you are looking to buy a car, you've found the right place! I have been shopping around for a third car as a"toy" and was very particular with what I wanted. Found Driven Auto Sales from CarGurus. After searching online for a couple of months, it really came down between two almost identical sports cars. One in Virginia and one at Driven (I reside in Chicago). When I am buying cars, my first step is usually searching CarGurus.com, my second is searching the dealer's website and the third is Yelp. . VIRGINIA DEALER Long story short - quasi negotiated price - was kinda thrown off by some spam, and was planning to fly to VA to pick up the car. 3.5 Yelp rating - mostly lowered by trolls. DRIVEN AUTO SALES I then visited Driven's website. Once I located the car in their site, I arrived on yelp. 5 Star Review, 5 Star Review, 5 Star Review... EVERY SINGLE REVIEW WAS FIVE STARS. My interest (and suspicious) had peaked. I called Driven was put in touch with Mo (Financing Manager) who explained that the sales reps were with other customers but made himself available to answer my questions. He encouraged me to come to the dealership to take a look at the car since I was local (not in a pushy "once we get you here, you will leave with a car" way). When I showed up my heart started racing.. Holy Luxury Car Heaven! They lot is FULL of almost new luxury cars... I mean FULL! Anyway, Mo greeted me and introduced me to Ibrahim. We hit it off immediately. What a great guy! After returning from the test drive (he may or may not have been encouraging me to test the limits of the car as we were spinning around town) the dreaded "negotiation" began.... Surprisingly, the process was the LEAST "high pressure" experience ever and was more conversation than negotiation! At one time, when describing the VA "Deal" to them (and them checking it out), Bill (manager - also a great guy) actually said "that's a great deal" to my VA option... He indicated although he preferred I purchased from Driven, he confirmed that I was offered a great deal on the VA option. It was authentic too - NOT a sales pitch. It at that time that I realized I had stumbled on a TRUE GEM; no High Pressure, complete transparency and I could vouch for the other 5* Yelp Reviews... I was sold. The "negotiation" was quick, transparent (absolutely no pressure or BS) and VERY FAIR. I can't stress there was, literally, ZERO pressure to buy the car....they just wanted to make sure I was happy. Similarly, the financing was super fast (they work will almost all major banks) and Mo got me locked with a great rate from Wells Fargo. After a handshake, Mo began the paperwork and I noticed that all of the staff who had previously been smiling were... still smiling. This confirmed (not that I needed confirmation) that It wasn't an act. I was offered soda, I was offered water (they gave me so much bottled water I don't think I need to hydrate for a week) and while the paperwork was being completed I, literally, got to "know" the staff. Not in a "What do you do for a living" type of way but more "I'm sorry you lost your father years ago" kind of way. I've met some great people and some great friends! This is not your average car dealership or your average "business". After the paperwork was signed (in the meantime they washed, waxed & buffed the car) I was handed a Key shook hands with everyone. But the "transaction" didn't end there. After they had (presumably) made money from me they were still ....talking to me.... getting to know me better - sharing stores - etc. Ibrahim (I would highly encourage you to ask for him), although it was quickly approaching 8pm on a Friday, was not in a rush to force me out - but instead, literally, wanted to talk (in a good way). We sat in my "new" car with the windows rolled down for another 20 minutes and just chatted... All I can say is this place is truly different. I've written several other 5 star reviews for other car dealerships - but because of Driven, the bar has been raised. Give Driven a chance before you buy a used car ANYWHERE else. I was in the market for a BMW 4 Series M package for over 5 months. After countless visits to dealerships that tried to overcharge me for a vehicle and pretty much, horrible service, and lack of knowledge on their OWN inventory, I found the BMW 428i M package on their website, called them and schedule a same day appointment to check out the car. When I got there, unlike other places I've been to, the car was cleaned and ready for a test drive. My sales person explained everything about the car, showed me the CarFax and all other information regarding when the vehicle was in for maintenance all of that other good stuff. Negotiation was the best experience. The General Sales Manager came over, greeted himself, and asked me what I was comfortable with regarding monthly payment, price, and interest rate. We live in Elgin, so we called ahead to dealership after seeing an SUV we liked. We spoke with an Ali in sales. He sent us the carfax, said no damage and everything looked fine. We test drove the vehicle and fell in love with it. Dealing with the salesman was fine and we agreed on a price. Then we went to sign the documents to purchase the SUV. We went into the financial department and started doing the paperwork. Everything looked fine, untill the very last form. It said structure damage. They said it was nothing, but wanted me to " sign a disclosure ", stating that we were okay with structural damage on this vehicle. This was the last form. I said "No Way" as this is the frame. They wasted my time, lied to me when we called and seeming decieved CarFax, as the SUV had structure damage. I feel they lied to us, did the whole sale procedure and hoped we would just sign - that the car had structural damage. These guys must be high. Still considering calling the Better Business Bureau. Such a grimey dealer. Inquired about a vehicle listed online, salesman "Raul" told me vehicle was there getting an inspection to let him know when id be there. I later asked about another more pricey vehicle and all of a sudden Raul comes up with a whole bs story about someone test driving the first vehicle and potentially them buying it and said for me to check out the more pricey one that it'd be there, I wasnt going and told him to keep me updated. I later asked if any update and he said its being worked on he'd update me in an hour in The meantime fill out the online credit app to speed up the process. I end up going to the dealer and someone else told me that vehicle was sold over a week ago but if I was interested in the more pricey one still, all while the gentleman himself admitted to knowing the vehicle was sold over a week ago and said to still run my credit to see where its at.
