I tried one of the new cinnamon rolls and it was awesome, homemade and better than Cinnabon in my opinion! The ladies that greeted us were awesome and energetic. Smiles and warm welcomes, but they were surprised that Yak's on the 5 sent us here earlier for biscuits an gravy. They stopped serving breakfast 2 hours earlier. WHAT??? Tricked again. Hungry we decided to stay for lunch. They refused to be swayed into making our breakfast. My wife order the Everything burger and I ordered the Jalapeno Burger. Both were memorable. And we ate with fervor and passion. Piled high with goodies and moist. Winner. Both locations serve awesome lunches. Breakfast ends at 11am. Firmly it seems. LOL. read more

Stopped in while driving to the Bay Area on I-5. Had the double trouble and it was great, easily the best burger for hundreds of miles.

What a unique experience. Such a fun atmosphere and fun crew. The food was hands down amazing and the sweet treats are to die for. They had my favorite blood orange on tap TOO! The "Fun Guy" (a burger with fried onions, mushrooms and garlic aoli) was so salty that it was a challenge to eat. It was like the kitchen staff never actually tastes the food, they just pour a salt shaker over it. The beef patty was like fast food - small, dry, and overcooked. There are only a few places open at 9 am for a quick breakfast. I highly recommend Yaks Shack. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered the Hot Mama with The Works. It was absolutely delicious! With the jalapeños, Sriracha seasoning, and jalapeño cheddar bagel, it had a good kick of heat. I also ordered the Mexican Mocha. It was pretty good too. Not overly sweet- which I like. I added some nutmeg and a bit more cinnamon, which was available on the counter. Most places don't have nutmeg, so I was happy to find it available. The place was clean but small with seating available outside, which is currently covered in snow. I ate my breakfast while I did some window shopping at the stores nearby. This was my first time here and I can't wait to come back. read more

This place is amazing. The staff were friendly and service is quick. Small indoor space...No indoor seating but tons of room outside on the patio. They have a coffee bar with all homemade syrups. Homemade buns, homemade cookies and sweets, homemade EVERYTHING. A couple friends got bowls and they were delicious...love the homemade sauces on everything. The bowls are a bit more calorie conscious if you don't want a burger but the burgers are worth every calorie. We ate here on the way to our destination and on the way home because it was so good. we would come back to Mt. Shasta just to eat here. read more

We are traveling from WA to CA and planned to stop at Yak's because of the quality of their ingredients and y'all, it was so good!! The line was long but the food came out extremely quickly. The front of house service was great and everything tasted delicious. You can taste the care they put into their food. We got a pastrami sandwich, a burger, a smoothie, and an iced coconut cream latte which I'm so glad I ended up getting. I hope we have a chance to stop here again. Thanks Yaks! read more

You walk in and order at the counter with tables to sit outside. We ordered the cilantro bomb and the make me want to cry garlic obsession and upgraded our side of chips to the garlic Parmesan fries. The upgrade to garlic Parmesan wasn't worth it because the fries were a bit cold but could see the fries being super tasty if fresh and hot. The burgers get messy because they are full with toppings so make sure to grab napkins. The make me want to cry garlic burger was definitely garlic forward and very delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with which burger you choose here. And then head next door to their dessert shop! read more

Great location for such an unassuming, yet delightful 'shack'! I stopped off here after a day of skiing Mt. Shasta, solely because of the 50% deal. I was not disappointed - the place was very inviting and unique. The cashier was extremely friendly, and made some great recommendations for me. In the end, I chose the Bacon Overload burger (I accidentally referred to it as the 'overlord', which generated some well-deserved snickers from the chef!), with a side of garlic fries. FANTASTIC! The combo was amazing; great flavor, and LOADS of garlic on the fries. Just the way I like it. It wasn't hard to get to; the freeway ramp was closed, so I managed a slight detour, but upon arrival, found plenty of parking options. I chatted briefly while waiting for my order with a guy who stops here everytime he visits his kids at Oregon State University in Corvallis - faithfully, on both legs of the trip from-and-to Sacramento. Pretty impressive to draw such a following! I'll definitely be back on my next trip through town, myself. read more

Um just Wow! Tiny space to place your order but plenty of outside seating. I got the veggie bowl with chipotle dressing and omg it was sooo great. It was rice and beans topped with cabbage. The dressing was very delicious. My partner got a chicken sandwich with fries. It looked amazing. I guess it was because he ate every bite. The fries were the best I have tasted in a long time.
