Came here to fix my phone and they broke it three times. It's now worse than it was before. And I've resulted to just getting a new phone from the manufacturer. They took my money and I had to walk home each time because I couldn't call an Uber because I didn't have my phone. I stopped in because something was stuck in the connection of where my iPad charger hooked up. I was helped by Frank who explained that it would take about 15 to 20 minutes to clean it out and it would be $45. Recently I had an huge issue with my iPhone X. The screen kept turning green and the battery would run down too quickly. I tried fixing it myself and wasted a lot of time. I have always taken my phones here for repairs. Unfortunately, I will no longer be taking my phones there. I took my phone in to be repaired on June 28, 2024 and paid $321.28. When I came to pick it up, it wasn't fixed. Willy said the machine to get it working correctly was broken. I told him I needed my phone fixed today and requested a refund. (Willy was very professional and polite). I wasn't even upset that they couldn't fix my phone. Just needed to go elsewhere to get it done. However, Willy told me they don't give refunds in the store and to call the owner, Joel. I have called five times. Joel told me he would get the refund processed. The fourth time I called, Joel said he couldn't talk because people were in the car with him. The fifth time, I called the store, and they said they would get me a confirmation number of the refund. It is July 23, 2024, and still no refund. Guess we are going to court. read more

They asked to hold my phone for a whole day so I went with it. I returned the next day and my iPhone X was worse than before. It got very hot and the selfie camera didn't work. It was usable but then the next day the problems started. It started opening apps and typing on its own. I took it back and they said they'd try another screen. Nope! They put on the screen I purchased from them the day before. I went home. I noticed the screen wasn't down/on all the way. I pushed it down slightly and it went in but it cracked :(. These folks are Dishonest when they screw up. I have now read other reviews with similar stories. I took my laptop to DSF for a new battery. They ordered a battery, installed it in my computer, and showed me that the laptop was running off the battery. I then paid for the battery ($80) and service. However, when I got home I realized that I could run off the battery, but it would not recharge. DSF ordered a replacement battery. Same problem. They told me that the battery was good but I needed software reprogramming that they could not do. I went to Mitec Computers who informed me that the battery was incompatible with my laptop. Mitec ordered the correct battery, fixed my laptop, and wrote a detailed description of the problems with the DSF battery. I took this to DSF and requested the $80 cost of the incompatible battery to be returned (I was willing to pay for their labor). I made at least 10 visits/calls to DSF while they gave me the runaround; even telling me that they had refunded the money to my credit card and it would show up in 3 days. They hadn't. I hate to post such a negative review for a local shop. However, they lied to me, were incompetent, and wasted my time. read more

Spoke with Willy and he was very helpful and said just bring everything I want to have done or fixed and he could do it. I brought everything to him and he was great! He put the glass covers on both my sisters iPad and mine, he showed me how to attach the new keyboard and operate it, he replaced the cracked glass on my sisters iPhone. I had used this place anytime I had to fix my iPhones and they were great. Until recently when I went in to have my iPhone X screen replaced. When I got my iPhone back, everything seemed in working condition until I got home and realized that my Face ID wasn't working. I returned the same day and one of the techs looked at it again and said he couldn't fix it at the time but to go home and do a software update which I did and that didn't fix the problem. Next thing they suggested was to take it to apple and see if they could fix it. I then went to the apple store in TO and they ran their diagnostics and they could not fix it either. The day after I went back to the store to let them know that apple said it was a hardware problem and it would cost $500 for them to fix it. The tech that was there at the time, asked if he could look at it again and see if there was anything he could do to fix it. 15 minutes later he returned with the same outcome of not being able to fix it and suggested that I might have to buy a new phone. (But why should I go out of pocket when they were the ones who created this problem in the first place?) He said that he will talk to his supervisor to see what they can do to either have another shop try and fix my phone, or replace it outright. 2 weeks of run around and still no answer. This was before the COVID-19 lockdown. So it's been probably 2 months with a proven phone and no answers. read more

I like this place. The employees are super helpful, and I know numerous friends who have taken their devices here to get fixed after a whoopsy. The only problem is they use third-party materials that are not compatible with Apple's standards, and thus, are more susceptible to breaking even more after the fix. I chose this screen repair place because of what I thought was an incredible warranty, but upon attempting to use the warranty I learned that they're definitely NOT the best option when it comes to screen repair. When you click on the Warranty tab of their website, you see this: "At DropSmashFix: Smartphone Repair & More, we repair a wide variety of electronic devices, specializing in all smartphones and tablets. Bring in your iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy, notebook or desktop computers and gaming consoles. Our skilled technicians are trained and ready to get your device working properly. Whether your issue is a cracked screen, water damage, dead battery or something else, we have you covered. Our DropSmashFix Guarantee means your repair is covered for 12 months from date of service. The DSF Warranty covers all parts & labor. " To me, this means if your phone has a cracked screen, water damage, dead battery or something else after initially having them repair my screen, they've got me covered for 12 months. This was an incredible deal that convinced me to invest my money in their services, and so I did. A few days after my repair, some weird lines showed up at the bottom of my screen. Though annoying, my phone still worked so I figured I'd wait to take it in for the warranty fix in case anything happened that made my phone nonfunctional before it became time to trade it in at Verizon for an upgrade. Then a few weeks after that, strange images of squares and battery charge levels showed up all around the border of the screen. Again, phone was still useable so I held off on taking it in. I assumed more problems would happen with this seemingly shotty screen repair, so it made sense to wait. After all, their warranty description said they had me covered for a full year no matter what happened. A few days ago my screen had a mysterious crack running through it from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. There was no start or end point. I hadn't dropped it and it wasn't shattered, so I had no idea what happened. I took it in to take advantage of the warranty that covered "cracked screen, water damage, dead battery or something else." Since I didn't cause the crack I thought it could be related to the bad repair I got the first time around. Either way, according to what I had read on their website, I was covered. When I got there they said the crack negated the warranty, even though I had all of the other problems in addition to the crack. I asked how that was possible considering the warranty covers everything. The manager called my crack a "rebreak" (someone please explain to me how you could possibly "rebreak" a new screen) and said the most he could do was give me a discount or charge me for just the parts. He also told me that what I read on the Warranty tab of their website was just marketing language and was not to be considered information about their warranty. They told me I was at fault because I misinterpreted what I had read. Please. My advice to you is to go somewhere else. Not only do they not prioritize their customer, they use shady "marketing language" to attract customers with misleading warranty info and they put the blame on the customer when it comes time to use that awesome warranty. That's bad business in my book, and their repair wasn't good in the first place. A huge waste of time and money. I told the guy working at the counter that day that I would be writing a review of what happened because this whole situation was really strange and screamed "buyer beware." I actually felt that it would be wrong of me to NOT write a review. So, here's the review I promised. I hope it helps someone who thinks the warranty is worth the extra investment in their services (hint: it's not). read more

When I picked up my iPhone from DropSmashFix after a screen replacement and took it directly to ATT to assist with the cellular functionality we discovered the SIM card had been removed from the phone. We found this to be unusual and it caused more delay anxiety and frustration in getting the phone up and running again. I cannot recommend this store because they did not believe me as a customer when I shared what happened with the SIM card. Their handling of my phone and the resolution was unacceptable and I love supporting local vendors. Disappointing!!! read more

Very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable staff. I had two repairs here in the last several months for a cracked screen on my smartphone. They did an excellent job both times and charged me about a hundred dollars to replace the screen, which sure beats buying a new phone. The insurance plans offered through the wireless carriers are completely worthless, because if you crack the screen they will not repair it, and will charge you about $150 for a refurbished replacement phone. That's after you already pay them a hefty monthly fee for the coverage. The only issue with the repair is that you'll have to wait a few days for them to actually do the repair, as they usually have to order the necessary replacement parts. Hopefully, you'll have another phone you can use in the meantime as a temporary replacement. read more

Total ripoff. Before Christmas I stopped in to pick up a gift card to give to my daughter. Her phone had 2 problems - the microphone was broken and the screen cracked. They said they could fix it for about $169. I bought the card. When she brought her phone in the looked at it and said they were unable to repair it. When I tried to get my money back they said absolutely no refunds. That's there policy. I tried writing the corporate office but was totally ignored.
