If you're considering transforming your outdoor space, stop scrolling and call Droughtscape. From the very first interaction, it was clear this team knows their stuff. Not only were they incredibly patient and professional, but they also brought a deep level of knowledge and experience to every step of the process. They took time to understand our vision, offered smart, sustainable suggestions, and delivered beyond expectations. What really impressed me was how much they accomplished in such a short amount of time--no wasted days, no drawn-out delays. They worked efficiently, stayed communicative throughout, and treated our property like their own. We've already partnered with them for ongoing phases and future improvements because once you find a team like this, you don't let them go. It's rare to find contractors who are this committed, reliable, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. Affordable pricey (for all the plants and work that was completed). Highly recommend Droughtscape to anyone who values quality, sustainability, and professionalism. Your yard (and your water bill) will thank you!

10 Stars! Highly Recommend Droughtscape! We couldn't be happier with the experience we had working with Cody, Anthony, and the entire Droughtscape team! They are communicative, forward-thinking, kind, meticulous, and truly masters of their craft. After gathering four quotes from various landscaping companies, Droughtscape's quote stood out--not only for its competitive pricing but also for the comprehensive detail provided for our project. They worked with us to install steps and a swale along the sides of our house to protect our foundation from water runoff. We were so impressed by their attention to detail and quality of work that we added an extra project: a clean-up of the front of our house, including tree removal and laying down pavers. When unexpected wood rot was discovered during the project, Droughtscape handled the situation smoothly and flexibly, helping us adjust plans so we could address this issue without missing a beat. Their willingness to accommodate and make adjustments along the way was invaluable to us. The results are nothing short of impeccable! We're thrilled with how everything turned out and are excited to share the incredible transformation with before-and-after photos. We would absolutely hire Droughtscape again in the future! Thank you for making our home look its best!

I hired Droughtscape to completely redo the drainage in my front and back lawns and to replace my grass in front with drought-resistant plants. They also replaced some fencing, rebuilt my fire pit, and installed smart lighting. They did an excellent job! I'm very pleased with how my lawns turned out. I have no landscaping experience, but Cody was communicative and patiently worked with me to come up with a layout for my lawns that I was happy with. Their workers were very courteous, reliable, and fast. I had to make some changes to the specifications as they went, but aside from my changes, they stuck to the budget from their original quote. Their quote wasn't the cheapest quote I could find, but I value quality over affordability, and believe you get what you pay for, so I'm satisfied with the price I paid. Several months after the work, I'm having a couple of issues with grass that keeps popping up in the front and some succulents that are not doing very well. But Droughtscape has told me they will come back to help me with these issues as soon as they have availability, so I'm hopeful to get these issues sorted out soon.

I talked to another general contractor about building a retaining wall and a walkway next to the hill before. I was told it was not possible because the hill contains rocks. When I brought this to Cody, he had a better vision: a wall and a spacious patio. Anthony and his team diligently created the open space by jackhammering the rocks, properly graded the area, added additional drainage, and delivered a beautiful job. Both my husband and I were impressed. The drought resistant landscape on my two other hills also looked great. This is a well functioning team who are knowledgeable, hardworking, detail oriented, and easy to work with. I ended up expanding my original scope and hired them for more work. I highly recommend the Droughtscape team.

My old yard

I'm very happy with my new yard & walkway. Not knowing much about landscaping, I trusted Cody to design a plan & I wasn't disappointed. My old walkway was widened & replaced by pavers. Cody chose the best colors to go with my house. I now have a well-functioning drip system hidden by rocks along with new lights and an abundance of drought resistant plants & flowers. My yard has been transformed and it is low maintenance. Cody is a great person to work with. He kept me up to date on details & always answered my texts promptly. I highly recommend Droughtscape!

Cody was diligent in helping us figure out our backyard landscaping plan, working a balance of our budget and what we ideally wanted. He was great at making suggestions that were smart and aesthetically pleasing. Once the project started, Anthony, Miguel and their team were hard working and kind, not even flinching during the windy days and wildfire scares (we were far away but were still concerned for their and their families' well being). They answered even our simplest novice questions with respect, and even helped with an existing tree that was bending in the high winds. I would highly recommend them for anyone planning a redo of their landscaping, whether you are knowledgeable or newbies like us. We will ask them to help with our front yard when the time comes!

Droughtscape was great! We had talked to a few different companies about a backyard renovation project but Cody was the only one who came up with an idea that was within our budget, functional (we needed something that addressed drainage issues) and most importantly, looked great. Cody was communicative throughout the entire process, answering all of my questions promptly and in great detail- something I really appreciated with a project of this magnitude. Additionally, he was very transparent on pricing and was able to accommodate all change order requests we had along the way. Eriberto and his crew worked extremely efficiently- you can tell by the quality of their work that they did not cut corners. We could not be more pleased with Droughtscape and are already planning to work with them on the rest of our landscaping.

We had an excellent experience working with the Droughtscape team to transform our overgrown and dirt-filled front yard slopes into a clean and beautiful landscape. We did our due diligence and collected multiple quotes before settling on Droughtscape for their professionalism, knowledge, and communication. Despite being a little higher than other quotes, it was absolutely worth it for the peace of mind we had every step of the way. They worked within our budget, stuck to their quick turnaround schedule, went above and beyond for us on making sure things were done right when plans had to shift due to unforeseen challenges, answered all of our questions quickly, and generally just treated us with kindness. And shoutout to Cody, Anthony, and Miguel! These kinds of projects can be stressful or overwhelming as a homeowner, but you're in good hands with this crew.

We recently hired Droughtscape to completely re-do our backyard. Before the project, our backyard was a mess. Too much dying grass, spending a ton on water every day, and oddly paved walkways that always resulted in our kids tripping on the corners. As we were looking for the right landscapers/hardscapers to partner with, we found many offered artificial turf solutions, which we were not a fan of. For us, Droughtscape was a perfect fit for our backyard philosophy: 1. A backyard that fits the current climate of Souther California. Less grass, less water needed. 2. A thoughtful and practical layout that allowed us to have a space we would actually use (dining, lounging, play) Day in and out, I saw the team work unbelievably hard every single day. The entire backyard took about 5-6 weeks, but each day was a hustle for the team. I can't say enough good things about Droughtscape and would definitely recommend them to EVERYONE looking to turn their backyard/frontyard into a practical, climate-friendly oasis.

I can't recommend Droughtscape enough. They completely transformed my yard from an overgrown mess into a beautiful, low-maintenance space. They were incredibly prompt. From signing the contract to the crew breaking ground, it took less than a week! And they were finished with the work in only THREE days, which was astounding. The crew itself was fantastic - professional, friendly, and took immense pride in their work. Because of how our townhouse was built, they had to move through our home to get to the backyard, and they took great care to make sure there was no mess and no damage to our property. As you can see, the finished product is amazing. You can tell they use top-notch materials and their craftsmanship is meticulous. They were always happy to answer my questions and kept me informed throughout the process. Droughtscape isn't just another landscaping company; they're a team passionate about creating beautiful, sustainable outdoor spaces. They made the entire experience enjoyable, and I'm thrilled with the results. If you're looking for a company that prioritizes both style and water conservation, Droughtscape is the perfect choice!

LANDSCAPE BACKYARD In June, 2024 I decided it was time to give up the idea of turning my backyard into a meadow. I had already landscaped my backyard three times since moving into this house in 1996. But now I was done with high maintenance yards. I knew I didn't want any grass and as few weeds as possible. But at the same time I wanted lots of color and beautiful flowers. I needed to block out the latest Neighborhood Lot Monster's view of my yard by planting trees that would grow to at least 25 feet tall on that side of the yard, but I couldn't have the tree roots interfering with my pool. I started goggling landscapers in my neighborhood, looking for a company with only five star reviews or a good explanation for anything under five stars. Almost immediately I came across Droughtscape and thought "perfect name" for what I was looking for. I carefully read the reviews and then completed an application for a bid. I heard back almost immediately and scheduled an appointment. A young man named Cody showed up on time and prepared. He seemed to know his stuff and we looked over my backyard and I told him what I wanted. He asked me questions, measured everything, and left, assuring me I would shortly have a bid. I got the bid within 48 hours. It was, not surprisingly, more than I wanted to spend, but I think that's typical of almost any job I've ever done around this house. There was a little back and forth about the actual plants I wanted, but ultimately we were able to get the plants I was interested in. The company happened to have an opening about 2 weeks later and I grabbed it. It was when the crew showed up at my house that I started to realize this wasn't going to be the same old landscaping job. One of the guys there was an expert in sprinklers, Cody was the head landscaper and he too was there. There was another guy who would work on the grading, and two more guys who were there to take out all the grass, weeds, and everything that was going, replacing and grading the soil so any water ran out of the yard and into the street. In addition to all the workers, I was introduced to Anthony who would be supervising the job. For the next 10 consecutive weekdays the crew was here. Generally there were five or six guys in the yard from 7 a.m. to 4 or 4:30; sometimes later into the evening. And these guys worked really hard. Did I mention it was between 85 and 95 degrees every day they were working in my yard? They brought their own drinks, their own food; there was a port-a-potty and a huge trailer for all the dirt, grass, weeds, and everything else they removed from my yard. From the last time I'd landscaped I had thousands of colored river rocks everywhere and I wanted them to remain where they were. But weeds and grass had grown under them, and the crew had to remove all the rocks so they could pull up everything that was in the ground under the rocks, take out a layer of dirt, then put in a layer of healthier soil and rototill the entire yard. Once the soil all looked healthy and there was nothing left but soil, they started laying out the 2'x2' concrete steps so I had a walkway from the beginning of the yard and all around the pool and back to the beginning of the yard. They then put in a concrete slab for lounge chairs. I could go through everything else they did, but suffice it to say, it was a tremendous amount of work and they were completely committed to doing everything the right way and carefully. They measured between every concrete step to get them right so they were all an equal distance apart from the ones next to them. They laid material on the entire yard to keep the weeds from growing. They dug trenches to block the roots of the black bamboo they planted and my pool. And before they did anything that was permanent, they showed me what they were planning on doing and made sure I was happy with it. This is the first time I can say unequivocally that I recommend this team to everyone who wants their landscape to not only look beautiful, but to hold up for many years.

Before - weedy yard

Droughtscape completed my backyard project a week ago and I'm very happy with the results. Cody's design sense is strong and he transformed a neglected and weedy yard into a serene and beautiful garden. Project management was very smooth with Anthony being in charge - there were at least 3 crewmembers on site every workday and I did not notice any wasted time waiting for materials or other scheduling issues. Head Foreman Miguel's skills and experience are apparent from the way he can quickly problem solve and accommodate my requests to direct AC & Water Heater discharge into planting areas in a tidy way. I also liked the fact that Cody & Anthony are excellent communicators. The entire project was much bigger and involved more digging and groundworks than I could ever imagine. Expect multiple dumpsters of soil and weeds for the duration of the project as they grade the garden area to channel water away from the house. I spoke to several other landscape contractors and found that Droughtscape's prices are very fair given the scope and quality of work. They are a great company to work with, I will not hesitate to call them back when I need to work on other areas of the garden.

These guys are great. Cody was fantastic the whole way through as the sales manager/consultant. He came out to the house, gave us a basic idea of what they thought was a good idea compared to what we thought was a good idea, and then gave us a quote. When the quote was well above what we were able to pay; they were great about working out with us what would be the best aspects for them to take care of, so we could do the easier stuff on our own. As for the team that came and did the work: Anthony M is an absolute genius. He was able to answer every question we had, and was on schedule daily. They even came back to patch sections of sod that didn't take properly, and are re-grading a section of the yard that (when settled) sloped the wrong way, leading to a small amount of pooling. These guys are phenomenal, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. They were fun and easy to talk to as well, which made it so much easier to have them at your house for a week straight! Finally I'll mention that they are always reachable. This may not seem huge, but it is. You're going to have questions and you're going to need reassurance. It's hard to see the final product in your head, but WPL was able to communicate simply to us and reassuringly so! Thank you guys!!! We LOVE our new backyard space!!!!!!
