My family and I have been coming to this office for 25 years and have never had a bad experience until our recent visit, like other reviews have stated, it looks like they need to train their new staff on customer service. The 2 front staff girls are rude af about anything that is related to doing their job. They roll their eyes, blank stare and give attitude literally about everything, explaining and checking insurance coverage, giving prior prescription info, or doing sales. One of the girls kept going back and forth with me that she knew I didn't have coverage with my insurance and got pissy and rolled her eyes when I let her know my insurance told me directly that I did and to please check it...and I did end up having the coverage when she checked. Not sure what their issue is, there are plenty of other offices to go to that will be happy to have our business. After 25 years we will not be coming back. I also emailed to request our prescription info which I have done many times in the past and was sent our info promptly, but now haven't gotten a response after a month. read more

Office staff are very rude. The entire office is closed for lunch. Even for something basic as picking up your glasses. They can have rotational brake and have at least one person at front desk to handle easy cases like picking up glasses, etc. When I brought this issue to their attention, Lisa (office manager) said, this is my business and you can not tell me how to run my business. read more

Really bad service. Charge way more for their frames 2-3x more than the list price of the exact same frames available directly from the manufacturers. End up paying a very high co-pay despite insurance coverage because of their high prices. Rude staff at the reception and also the turn around time for glasses being made is perhaps the highest of any provider we have been to taking many weeks. read more

The receptionist there is so rude. She answered my phone with a very angry voice when we just asked her about our insurance information. Previously when we came to the office, the receptionist couldn't help with anything but have a very unsupportive behaviors. She should be trained again by the owner of the business. One star is for Dr. Le-she is absolutely phenomenal. I have been coming here for the past two years and she always has a smile on her face. Never have I experienced anything less than great customer service from her. What I do have an issue with is the rest of her staff. They are unprofessional, rude, and not respectful of your valuable time. I called in on 12/18/18 to schedule a contact fitting exam and the female rep on phone let me know she had an opening on 01/05/19 at 10am, which I accepted. I let her know that I also did a regular eye exam at Kaiser the other day and have the prescription in hand. She did not ask me to send/fax/email them a copy of this ahead of time, she said to go ahead and just bring it in the day of my appointment. Two and a half weeks later, the day before my appointment, I get a text on my SISTER's phone (who is also a client here) that they need my prescription before I come in tomorrow. Uhm, what? My mom was recently diagnosed with cancer and her surgery was scheduled that day so there was absolutely no way I could've gotten that prescription to her right then and there. As I'm sitting in the waiting room at the hospital texting them from my sister's phone telling them to please update my phone number and that I'm at a family emergency, I get an insensitive text back basically telling me that since I can't send them my prescription that same day that they might not have it in stock and will waste my time again by scheduling another appt once they've ordered the right ones. I didn't even bother to respond. Why didn't they ask me for this prescription two and a half weeks ago??? Why didn't they verify MY phone number to make sure it was me and that I didn't change it since I last came in last year??? I was a patient care coordinator for 3 years and understand the importance of these basic customer relations... Anyways, I go into my appt the next day, and this young female assistant (looks college age) by the name of Truc asks me for my prescription as soon as I check in. I hand it over to her and I immediately asked how come they didn't ask me for this weeks ago when I initially scheduled the appointment? And let them know whoever that has been texting me yesterday was extremely rude and insensitive regarding my family emergency. She didn't say anything. All the other staff behind the counter all looked up, bug-eyed, and appalled by what I said. No exchange of apologies. Nothing. Just told me to have a seat and they'd be right with me. Wow lol. I was helped by a new optometrist. I got my exam and guess whatttttttttt-they didn't have my contacts in stock. She just told me to come back when they order it. Again, no apologies. I had to schedule this not once, not twice, but THREE times for a contact fitting. For some reason they just cannot get it right. I have astigmatism in both my eyes and shared with them that my left eye used to be a lazy eye. All the trials they gave me were blurry and my vision was worse with them on, so I tossed them. I've tried different brands and gave it a few days but nothing seems to fit. I've given this place too many chances in the span of two month and with the overall lack of customer service, I'm just done. I called my insurance to let them know how unhappy I was with my services that they were able to issue me a new contact fitting exam, so I am glad that I can take my business elsewhere. I had my first visit to Drs Bui and Le Optometry this month. I was pleasantly surprised to find a welcoming and responsive administration staff in a clean and well organized lobby. My checkup consisted of a series of tests and baseline recordings including glaucoma testing and other retinal checks including a retinal photo. Then I met Dr. Le who was gracious and personable throughout her time with me and about my eye health history as well performed another series of exams. She gave me a clear picture of any of my eye issues and addressed all my concerns and questions. She also reminded me of other tests we need to do. I recommend Drs Bui and Le Optometry for its efficient staff and friendliness and for Dr. Le's expertise and ability to convey the meanings of test results and to continue with healthy eye care. read more

Disclaimer: my review is solely based on their selection of frames. I had no interaction with Dr. Bui or Le. I received my prescription from another optometrist, but didn't like the frame selection there, so I shopped around. I visited about 4 different optometrists, and ended up with a pair of glasses here. They have a wide selection of frames, with high end designers (channel, fendi, burberry, gucci, etc) and more affordable selection. The lady who was assisting me was very helpful! (I wished I took her name) I wanted a pair of dark ruby frames, and she pulled out 6 pairs for me to try on. She was very patient with me and advised me which pair was best for the structure of my face! read more

We go to see an optometrist doctor at this center every year. The Doctor is very efficient, the staff is very courteous and prompt, They do very well to work as per our convenience. In the end, doctor clearly explains how well our eyesight is as compared to the previous year and if some correction needs to take place. We love this office and wish them all the best. I've been coming here for as long as I can remember -- probably over 10 years. Admittedly, I have a terrible memory. But I know for a fact that I have never, ever had a complaint about Dr. Le! (In fact, I always looked forward to going to the optometrist and briefly considered it for a career.) Dr. Le is so sweet, as is the rest of her staff, and they've been there for me through thick and thin. Literally. Thick glasses (at one point I was -8.50 in both eyes)... thin contacts (where one of the girls sat with me for over an hour trying to help me get them onto my eyes for the first time)... and finally to congratulate me after my successful LASIK procedure this year, of which Dr. Le was always a big advocate for me. While I haven't lived in San Jose for a while, and I can no longer take advantage of her large selection of frames, I'm definitely going to continue to be a patient of hers! read more

The office of Drs. Bui and Le is in a sort of shady looking complex. It's really nothing very fancy from the outside, or even on the inside, but they have a pretty sizeable selection of designer glasses. Chanel, Fendi, Gucci, Armani, Moschino and Burberry just to name a few. Contact lenses are expensive here compared to Costco, but I paid with my insurance allowance so I guess it's no biggie. My boyfriend ordered glasses here and it's been 3 weeks since we went in for the exam and they still haven't come. When I ordered glasses here last year, it took 2 weeks with transition lenses. read more

I've been with this doctor for about a couple of years and last year I decided to start using contacts. So, I went for my regular check-up and told my doc I wanted contacts this time. Everything was good. Six months go by and I need more contacts. This time I decide to buy from 1800-Contacts. I give them the numbers on the side of my contact boxes. She lady at 1800-Contacts said they'll call Dr. Bui's office to varify that it's the right prescription. The 1800-Contacts lady called me back and said I Dr. Bui had a different axis number for my right eye. So, I was like WTF! So, for the last six months I've been wearing the wrong prescription on my right eye. I'm changing doctors. They've lost a long time customer due to their carelessness. Inexperienced staff (most are still in school), poor communication, and money-hungry practices. Things we ask their staff, they don't communicate with the doctor. The doctor had no clue why I was visiting and didn't even come out to speak to me during my visit. They show no empathy when the customer is a little new to certain services, and they don't care about us a good customer experience, even for long time patients. Save your money and time, and find an office that actually cares and doesn't overcharge you every chance they get. Glasses are pretty expensive and contacts onboarding is about $100 even if you have a $50 copay. Lots of extra fees. read more

My friend recommended this optometry office to me and I could not be happier! Today I came in for an eye exam (walk-in, no appointment) and was seen within a reasonable amount of time. The receptionists at the front desk were very courteous and sweet. I was seen by Dr. Le and she was very professional and sweet. Not pushy at all (unlike some places that try to push you into buying glasses on the spot). She also provided me with a printout copy of my prescription! Dr. Le has been my optometrist since I was in elementary school. There's numerous reasons why I have never gone elsewhere. I have come into the office for different reasons, from eye exams to having my frames adjusted to ordering replacement glasses. Appointments have always been quick and painless, as Dr. Le and her staff know everything from insurance coverage to how to assess your eyes. I have never had an issue having the majority of my eye exams and frames covered. They havr beeb flexible with the countless insurance companies I've had. They've even gone out of their way to offer discounts when I needed replacement glasses and my insurance was not able to cover any of it.
