The service at DRS stairs was incredible. We had our stair railing replaced. Initial consultation was done by Mathew. We had timing issues with our contractor (we were putting in hardwood on our stairs) and he helped us by moving around the schedule to accommodate us. Kelly did the measurements and was very nice. Mat was the installer and they did an incredible job. Very neat and precise. After the install, we noticed a slight gap between the hardwood floor and the quarter round and when we called, they came right away to replace it with a bigger quarter round to make it perfect. Everyone was very nice to work with and we are thrilled with the new railing. read more

The project manager who came out to do the estimate seemed really nice. However, 2 business days later (really 4 days b/c of the weekend), I still didn't have their quote. I called and the woman who answered said the project manager will email me the quote that evening or she will call earlier to let me know the estimate since my husband and I were in a rush to make a decision on bids. We didn't hear from them the rest of the day. Wanting to give them another chance, I called this morning to check on the status. She said she hadn't seen the project manager all day yesterday. Ummm....ever hear of a phone? She continued to say it's only been 3 days since he was there (5 with the weekend). I said I realize that, but we had other contractors come at the same time and we have their bids already. She told me that we should go with one of them then. Nice. I guess they didn't need our business. It's not a good sign when a contractor starts making excuses during the bidding period. What else will they make excuses about down the road? read more

We recently had D.R.S. Stairs install a stair railing (wood handrail, steel balusters & posts) for our home. We were very happy with the installation and the estimator. It's extremely difficult to find installers who do modern railings for residential projects. They weren't super cheap, but the installation took only 2 days. We had one odd hangup---they said they didn't have railing brackets that matched the style we wanted, so we ordered them ourselves. Later, the installer saw the bracket we had ordered and said they order the exact model all the time. Unfortunately, now we have to re-install the brackets & patch holes in the wall. It seems the admin support back at the office isn't very well coordinated (at times, they were also hard to get a hold of by phone), so docking one star for that. read more

DRS did a great job on our railing. Kelly came out to measure and give an estimate. I was confused by the size/style I wanted, so went to their office to look at choices. Kelly was very helpful and patient with me. Vicky was always so helpful on the phone as well. I was really impressed by her knowledge, especially when it came to coordinating when this should be done since we were also getting our hardwood floors/stairs refinished, and coordinating with the painters. The man who actually did the install was terrific. Very mindful of our newly redone floors, and put in a beautiful and sturdy railing. The large post at the landing was a little tricky because of the design of my stairs, but he came up with a creative solution that looks awesome. Would definitely recommend! read more

Horrible service! A guy named Kelly came out and measured our stairs for a quite more than 2 weeks ago with no follow up. We decided to go down and pay them a visit in there store. He was sitting there like a bump on a log. Not even a hello! When the lady across the desk asked if he would meet with us to go over the quote, he mumbled no! That is ridiculous that this guy didn't even want to go over the quote with us!!! I guess they don't want customers. This place is a joke!! read more

Total waste of time. They scheduled an appointment to come out and give an estimate. Called me 3 days before appointment to move it out by a week. They showed up, did all the measurements, drew diagram and I requested the quote to be sent ASAP. They promised the quote to be in next week. I did several follow ups and no quote was sent for 10 days after the appt. They just wasted my time - don't understand why did they schedule an appointment, show up and not provide a quote. If this is the behavior for even sending the quote, I don't know how it will be if you place order with them! read more

DRS is really as good as it gets. Great customer service from the time we began interviewing stair companies. They respond timely, follow through with phone calls, quotes, questions. They were the only stair company who came out and actually furnished us with drawn out plans. The person who came out answered and explained all my questions- why things needed to be done a certain way, codes, etc. Extremely helpful. It only got better with our installer, Rob (Patrick was there the first day and was fantastic but Rob completed the job). Very professional, meticulous, clean, courteous, friendly and most of all a very knowledgeable contractor. He even called me in one day to explain why one of the iron spindles was going to be off a quarter of an inch (stairs were built in 1972-long story) and wanted to make sure he knew he wasn't cutting quarters and explained at length what was going on and why. My designed was there and we both thanked him and acknowledged what a great person he was to bring something up so minor. Most people would never have noticed. Again, meticulous and beautiful work. Alex in the office always returned phone calls quickly. We had other work going on the house and they were very accommodating. They are not the least expensive but their work is the best! I would highly recommend DRS Stairs and would hire them again for any other stair project! Once the stain is on by the painters I will include a photo of their beautiful work. read more

Not sure who the guy was who tried to buy some sort of a machine (?) at OSH last Friday morning, but he was very rude to the cashier, swearing at her, swearing about the G-D*** price because he wanted an extra 20% off for the item that was already on sale and 20% was already taken off.
