They are permanently closed, with new owners of the building, they are using it only to have options available to dine in sporadically

There was plenty of seating both inside and out, making it easy to settle in and enjoy a relaxed breakfast. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the large menu offered plenty of options with the flexibility to customize orders. I went with the two-egg plate, served with crispy potatoes, bacon, and French toast, and everything was delicious. The coffee arrived hot and fresh and kept coming, which is always a plus. The kids absolutely devoured their chocolate chip pancakes like nobody's business! It's easy to see why this place has so many loyal customers. Many people mentioned the consistently friendly service, generous portions, and homemade feel of the food, and after our visit, I can understand why. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is a great spot for a hearty breakfast. We'll definitely be back to work our way through the rest of the menu!

There was only one waitress working and she didn't make us wait too long and was friendly enough. My wife had the biscuits and gravy which was really excellent. They sure know how to make a good biscuit. I had the special, which was a bagel breakfast sandwich, which was pretty good, definitely generous on the bacon which I appreciated. All in all, it's exactly what you'd expect and it's a good stop if you want a home cooked breakfast with some country flavor.

They also have some breakfast cocktails and a full bar. My artichoke omelet was really good. The eggs were creamy and the hollandaise really elevated the dish. I substituted my English muffin for fresh fruit. The fruit selection was amazing, but I am sad they don't have any gluten free options of bread. The service was quick. We came at lunch time, and there was a couple minute wait since we didn't want to sit at the bar. Our server was friendly and the food came out fast. I can't wait to come back!

DP ordered Lemon Berry Pancakes, a plate-filing short stack of goodness. I'd like to say it tasted as good as it looked, but I couldn't tell as DP chowed down like a hound from hell. In a good way, of course. She did allow me to share her Maple Braised Bacon (meaning that I was able to snatch a piece while she wasn't looking). Really, really fine, something I'd definitely order again. For me. Not to share. I had the Schnitzel Bennie with tart cherry jam and lemon hollandaise. Sound unusual? Tasted great! My only gripe was that the pork cutlet was a bit small and could have used a bit more seasoning in the breading. Would I order it again? You betcha! Service was fast and efficient. The decor was quirky and inviting but the space was loud enough that it was really hard to carry a conversation. Overall rating: yahoo!

First, we had the opportunity to meet the owners, and they were absolutely amazing--friendly, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The restaurant itself is located inside a beautifully restored historic train depot, which gives it so much character and charm. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, and it was outstanding. Every bite was packed with flavor. I paired it with a strawberry lemonade, which was just as delicious. Before we hit the road, she even made sure my cup was topped off, which was such a thoughtful touch. We also enjoyed the sweet potato fries, salad, and homemade cucumber salad. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and made with care. And before leaving, I grabbed a cinnamon roll for later--and wow, it was HUGE! You can tell this place is built around family, good food, and making people feel at home. If you're passing through Nebraska City, do yourself a favor and stop in. Come hungry--you definitely won't leave that way!

This time I got the chicken fried steak, with biscuits, and frips on the side. I'll be honest that the chicken fried steak wasn't as good as last time-- it was more of a ground beef texture. The biscuits were absolutely amazing, and the perfect texture and taste to go with the gravy! The frips were also surprisingly good as I'm not a huge potato person! The burrito bowl is also something I wouldn't have ordered myself, but my friends loved it! Overall, it did have a good flavor, better than I expected. I love a pancakes come with real maple syrup! This is a huge plus for me, as it makes such a difference in my opinion. Overall, the price point for these made from scratch Meals is so good! This may be my favorite brunch in the city, as everything comes out piping hot, and incredibly fresh. Service is also amazing as well! The restaurant is small, with one back room that allows for a more intimate setting. There's also a patio, which I have not yet gotten to sit on with the cold weather! I would recommend making a reservation in advance since there is not a huge amount of seating.
