    Beef Patty Jerk Chicken Cabbage
    Marthin M.

The beef patty was pretty good since I've never had Caribbean food nothing over the top. The service of the owners was what made it memorable and the drunk chicken was hickory, Smokey and delicious with its sweet spicy sauce. You can't really eat and sit down but I love the aesthetic of the inside given that the design represented Jamaica ambiance.

We decided to dine at this establishment and I must say we were absolutely delighted by the food, service , everything. Our server Elle was fantastic and very attentive to our needs. For our appetizer, we ordered the deviled eggs. Four dinner we ordered the four piece Fried Chicken with Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens and Mashed Potatoes. If you are a M&C fan, you MUST try there Mac! The Collard Greens were Fantastic! If you're wondering around Philadelphia, I definitely recommend that you stop in the black hen and have some dinner.

We made a reservation so we were seated immediately. It does sound like they take walk ins but be prepared if it's busy because there's not a lot of seating. We did have to wait a bit to order food, but I don't care because the food ended up being worth it and then some. Even though we had to wait, we at least were asked by another staff member if we wanted to order a drink. (It's BYOB by the way, with certain corking charges) Now.. It's restaurant week here, which we didn't know but they had a special menu for $40 (3 courses). I ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak Beignets, Wings, Mac and Yams, and the Peach Cobbler Pies as a dessert. Did I finish it? No way lmao, but I have leftovers tomorrow because the servings are large. Man... everything was 10/10, and I don't say that lightly. I know every restaurant has their ups and downs, but don't base your attendance on whatever reviews you may see. Give them a chance, your stomach won't regret it. A special shoutout to Emoni (sp) for being a great server, super attentive and gave great suggestions. I'll certainly be back!

I paid attention to how the staff would handle the situation. After helping the current customer, the cashier gave him a cup of juice. I didn't see any payment, so I assumed it was offered to him. As he stepped outside, I asked my husband to check if he wanted something to eat. When my husband came back, he told me he had given him money. While that was kind, I honestly would have preferred to get him food myself just to make sure he actually ate. A few minutes later, the man came back in and sat at the counter. At first, I didn't see anyone approach him, but shortly after, the staff brought him a bag with food. I'm not sure if he ordered through the take out window then came in, paid the waiter, or if it was provided to him, but either way, it meant a lot to see. He took his food and left. What stood out most was that the staff didn't ignore him, rush him out, or treat him like he didn't belong. At one point, I even heard a staff member ask if he had received his juice, which made me think this wasn't their first interaction with him. In a world where people are often overlooked or dismissed, it meant a lot to see a business show simple human kindness. Treating people with dignity and empathy shouldn't be rare--but unfortunately, it often is. For that alone, Honey's Sit 'n Eat deserves recognition. Oh... and the food is always great!

It's especially great with kids -- they have a solid kids menu and plenty of side options, which makes it easier to find something for little ones. My 4-year-old loves it, which is always a win. That said, it's almost always packed, especially on weekend mornings, so expect a crowd. Service can be a bit hit or miss during those busy times. Overall, still a dependable breakfast spot with great food and a family-friendly vibe.

The food was honestly a 10 out of 10. The collard greens were so good and full of flavor, and I got the smothered turkey wings which were amazing. Definitely ask for extra gravy because that gravy is too good not to. My friend got the shrimp and cheesecake pop and the portion size was actually really solid. I also cannot forget the cheesesteak beignets because wow... such a creative idea and they were amazing. I asked for the sauce on the side and it initially came out wrong, so I had to flag someone down to fix it, but once they corrected it everything was perfect. Now the only downside for me was definitely the service. We really were not checked on much outside of taking our order and bringing drinks. Anytime we needed something like boxes, extra help, or corrections to food, we kinda had to wave down bus boys or random staff members passing by. A few more table check ins would've made the experience so much better because the food itself truly deserves top tier service. Parking can also be a little annoying, but I did notice there's a garage across the street which helps. Overall though, I absolutely loved this place and I'm so happy my friend brought me here. Even with the service issues, I would 100% come back because the food alone is worth it. I love the drawings on the wall and the place has a cute and cozy feel which we love! Also there's a Photo Booth! You have to pay but cute touch

A few friends and I decided to go to Amina's for a early dinner. I was surprised to learn they had relocated from their old location in Old City. Their New location is beautiful! The decor is much more glam with a touch of ethic vibe! They have unisex bathrooms, which is something I still have to get use to, but at least with this location, it's all on the same floor. Their menu is about the same. The food is delicious, just like the last time I went. We decided to share: Sticky wings- these were very good, crispy and a little sticky but the perfect amount of crunch. 9/10 Cheesesteak Beignets: A nice ball packed with steak and cheese. 10/10 Cornbread: Nice and warm. Crisp and buttery around the edges. Pairs nicely with my meal. 9/10 I decided to try the Oxtails, with sweet potato puree, collard greens and a side of mac and cheese. You get two meaty, nice size oxtails that are fall off the bone tender 10/10. I loved the Collared greens with a slight vinegary kick to them 9/10. The Mac and cheese was delicious as well. This is a hard dish to rate, because I think mind is better, but I'll give it a 8/10! One of my friends got a Grilled Watermelon Salad. I tasted it, and surprisingly it was delicious. 9/10. One day when I need to be watching my weight more closely (which is now) I would consider getting this. The portions were good, enough to take home for another meal or to share. The wait staff was great! Very pleasant and on time with our food. The prices are fair in this high priced market. Unfortunately when I rate any place I go, I also include how convenient it is to get there. I am a driver and drive just about everywhere I go. I would not recommend driving to this location. It is very busy, and parking your car is at a minimum. They do have parking lots that you will have to pay for and walk a little ways. I would probably get a Uber next time. Other than the parking, and traffic, I would highly recommend Amina's!

There are many tables, making it good for groups, but the interior is pretty bare. The wall is adorned with whimsical fox and chicken imagery, referencing the Hatch and Coop name. As of 05/2025, they supposedly offer 10% off your order by showing your SEPTA card. But, I'd confirm this offer before ordering to ensure it's honored. When I was there in the early morning, the cook (who also takes orders) didn't recognize the deal and didn't know how to punch it in. So, it was a bit of a letdown we couldn't redeem the deal, but we still wanted to try the sandwiches after hearing great things about them. I ordered The Hatch and Coop Sandwich (egg, cheese, chicken) on a round roll at the kiosk. You can customize your bread, egg (fried or scrambled), and cheese (provolone, american, or cheddar). The sandwiches come without any sauce unless you order sauce (extra $$) on the side. I highly recommend the Hatch Sauce- a typical mayo sauce with a little spice. I found The Hatch and Coop Sandwich to be just pretty good but I wish it had more heft to it. The chicken was juicy and well cooked, but I wish there was more. The cheese did the cheesing and coated the chicken, but the sandwich had far too many onions for my liking. With the Hatch Sauce, I felt the sandwich was tied together but it was a little odd to me the sandwich doesn't have sauce on its own. I'm giving Hatch and Coop the benefit of the doubt since it was so early in the morning, but I found my sandwich to be just OK. However, I will be back to try the fried chicken sandwiches, which I've heard rave reviews for.
