Out in the sticks, and hard to find. We pulled in and we're not the first guests to arrive. Walked in through the main entrance and we're left for 10 minutes looking at the dirty dingy storage room. We were early- my bad. We brought a Birthday cak for my 45 year old friend. We we're immediately told that Cakes aren't allowed on the Restuarant. If we brought our own plates, silver, and a knife, we could eat the cake outside!!!? We were finally escorted to our seats. They were right by the door. The appetizers were wonderful!!! We had cagun shrimp and mushrooms. We were really excited to try the steaks that we had heard about. They didn't look like $29 steaks. I ordered medium rare, got medium well done. The baked potato and cowboy beans were great!! There is nothing to say about the steak, except no flavor and strange looking. I must say driving home to eat the cake and sing happy birthday was a let down. They won't have to worry about us returning so they can stare at us again. read more

We booked Dry Beaver for our boss' retirement dinner. I believe they only do private parties these days so I'm not sure about the variety of their food choices. For our dinner, they offered BBQ pulled pork and chicken, potatoes, bread rolls, green beans, salad, and dessert. The food was really good, the service was attentive, and the price was very reasonable. We will definitely consider booking here again for our next function. read more

This restaurant has been in business for years, but did close for a period of time, including Covid. About a year ago it was reopened and my family and I finally went back to eat there this past Saturday night!! It was as good as it ever was. The owner was there greeting guests as usual. The service was GREAT!! Not that we were in a big hurry, but we were in and out in a very timely manner. We were so thrilled and happy when we left. It's a few miles east of Lawton, but well worth the drive. The setting is beautiful. The inside decor takes you to another place that makes you happy. They have a full bar. I was pleased they still had the garlic-tomato salad dressing on the salad bar and I don't like tomato. They have a FB page which includes a link to their website where you can access their menu. Everyone in the area needs to go to this restaurant. They are open Friday & Saturday nights from 5-10 pm. They do take reservations. Please GO eat at Dry Beaver Supper Club!!! A great option for a good meal in Lawton. My brother and I started with some Cajun alligator tail which was quite good. Out of all the ways that they can prepare the aligator tail, I would recommend the Cajun. I followed that up with a large Fillet Mignon. The fillet was quite tender and pretty well seasoned. They serve their own cattle at the restaurant, so you really know what you're getting and where it comes from. The sides were a little disappointing. I had the green beans which were bland and may have been previously frozen. The potato wedges were about the same quality. The salad bar didn't look that appetizing either. Next time I go, I will try the baked potato. It's probably a safer and better choice. I finished the meal off with some blackberry cobbler which was great. Really quite fantastic. I love cobbler and their was homemade and quite good. If the sides were better, this establishment would get 5 stars. The service here was excellent. Even though they got very busy, the hostess seated my brother and me even though we didn't have a reservation (a must if you are with a large group). Our waitress was awesome. She was really nice, had good suggestions, knew the menu and was attentive without being overbearing. She pulled the whole experience together. The Dry Beaver Supper Club is a bit hard to find. Like many visitors to Lawton, we were there for our son's boot camp graduation, we've never been there before, and we'll never be back. So I checked the Yelp reviews looking for a good restaurant and decided to give this one a try. I liked it because it was a very different experience from the chain restaurants. First of all, there's finding it. If we had followed Google maps, we would have missed by miles. Shame on Google. Luckily our Garmin knew the way, and thanks to the restaurant's phone advice, we knew to turn in at the unmarked driveway. I guess that goes with being a supper club. I liked the atmosphere, which was a combination of utilitarian steel-frame and country clutter, with stuffed animals, antlers, and all that. As for the dinner, it's basically a barbecue restaurant. The meats were pretty good, while the side dishes were only fair. My wife loved the ribs, and I liked my salmon and steak. I noticed some complaints about the prices here, but our dinner bill was perfectly reasonable, especially compared with Silicon Valley prices. You'll save money on wine because they really don't have any, just some house wine that was pretty awful. Stick with the beer. read more

Anyone who says this is a BBQ place has never been to a real BBQ place because this is a steakhouse that happens to serve other food. It is a little pricey but worth it. Probably the best place to eat in Lawton. We had really friendly service from Shay who was nice and attentive all evening. My meat had an excellent marinade which went well with my Spanish rice. I am from California and tried many places and this place is one of the best restaurants for American food. TRUST ME, you won't regret the drive. I knew this place through Urbanspoon app on iphone when Yelp was something that I hadn't known. I ordered an alligator appetizer. It was my first time eat alligator and it was good. Then, the main course was reataurant special of the day (sorry forgot what it is). I just remember one of the side dishes was mushroom and omg, i'm drooling now. I've never tatsted mushroom that good before. They have a salad bar that you can help yourself. Lawton is a very small town to me where has 2 Walmart and 1 tiny mall with pretty nothing to shop there. Many people complaint about Lawton. I understand. But please just do yourself a favor. Go to Dry Beaver Supper Club so that you may have some thing to remember when you leave here. I will eat here again for sure before move out of Lawton. This is the best-kept secret in SW Oklahoma. I LOVE steak, and always try to find the best steak place when travelling. I've never found a better steak. My favorites are the rib-eye and NY Strip, but everything on the menu that I've tried has been wonderful. This is a great place to take that special someone for a dinner to remember. read more

First, they now take CASH ONLY, no cards, no checks, nothing but greenbacks. We asked when we arrived and the hostess directed us to a gas station about a mile down the road that has an ATM. We knew what was coming when we turned onto the gravel driveway to the restaurant as the only sign there is a big CASH ONLY sign. If you don't know where they are located, there is nothing else to tell you to turn in. There is a small wooden cutout of a beaver, kind of hidden by a tree, but no signage other than the CASH ONLY sign. Second the food was disappointing. My steak, a bacon wrapped filet, was exceptionally tender and perfectly cooked, but had a strong! smoked flavor that I could taste for hours after dinner. My wife, who loves filets, didn't eat hers because the smoked flavor was too overwhelming. The price was $21.95. I ordered the pan seared gator. It was OK, with a slightly fishy aftertaste. The four of us at the table didn't finish the pieces. We're not finicky eaters, just Oklahoma folk who like most foods. Price was 10.95 for about eight small chicken nugget-sized pieces. The menu said dinner comes with 2 sides, but there are no sides listed on the menu. The waitress had to tell us what they were. I ordered the red beans , thinking "something like cajun red beans, but what I got was pinto beans that were just like the ones out of a can at home. The onion potatoes, on the other hand, were good. The salad bar was poor. The lettuce was beginning to wilt in the bowl. There was some grated cheese, some beets, some potato salad that looked just like the salad I've gotten from SAM's and Walmart. Even though it is July, there were no tomatoes. There were about 4 or 5 dressings that were obviously from a big bottle. My daughter got the pork chops and said they were very good, but then she only ate one of the two she got. The facility is in a metal building kind of like an old pole barn. The restaurant is inside of a room within the building. It was air conditioned inside the inner room, but it wasn't keeping up with the 100 degree day and was unpleasantly hot inside. We live here in Lawton and had been to the Dry Beaver a couple years ago. That was better experience than we had tonight. We won't be back. Lawton doesn't have much in the way of restaurants besides chains, but there are a couple privately owned ones that are much better than the dry beaver. We were really disappointed. Dinner was $98 for four people, not unreasonable, if we had gotten a really good meal, but this sure wasn't one. read more

Pretty disappointed after reading all of the fantastic reviews, but the food wasn't bad. We did have a reservation. Our table started by sharing the Gator tail, cajun style, based on reviews here. I've never had alligator before so I have nothing to compare it to. I had the 3 meat K-Bob (yes, thats how it's written on the menu) which had steak, chicken and shrimp. The chicken was was probably the best part of the plate. The steak was really tender and cooked perfectly, but both the steak and shrimp had a sweet flavor to it, but still lacked a lot of the flavor I expect in good steak. For such a highly rated place, I expected the bread to be homemade, or at least taste better than rolls from Wal-Mart. It was fun, our waitress was great, and we had a good time. It was worth the trip and I'm glad we had the chance to stop in for dinner, but I probably won't go out of my way to go back before leaving Lawton. read more
