As someone that frequents Drybar in multiple cities, this one loses a star for me because it doesn't follow the normal model. This location doesn't have mimosas like the others, now I'm not saying that makes or breaks the service, but it definitely adds to my experience. Also the lady at the front desk wasn't comparable to the other locations I've been to. She lacked the "umph" and kindness I expect from your first touch point in a business. Aside from the non experience aspect. This was the best blow out I got from Drybar. So all credit to my stylist. She was super efficient and understood my needs especially as a black woman. She did wonders on my shampoo and damn could she make a LASTING curl. She was attentive all the way until I walked out the door. She even caught me as I put on my jacket and got those last few fly aways. All and all, the hair service was amazing and I'll be back, but I do think there should be some improvements that uphold the Drybar standard.

Very pleasant experience with Sadya. I was greeted and seen promptly at arrival. I was the only person being serviced and it was nice to have my hair done in a large, well decorated empty salon. I low key thought this must be what it's like to be famous :) I explained the look I was going for (opposed to selecting a style from the look book) and my stylist didn't disappoint. I described how my last experience at a different location was not memorable and I feel like my stylist wanted to right the wrong. I had let my monthly blow out accumulate because I wasn't impressed with my results from the other location. However, today was such a positive experience that I booked a return appointment for the near future. If you are a textured/coiled hair girl like me, I highly recommend this location.

I was genuinely so excited to try the new store because I had had a previous experience in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and it was great a 10/10. I arrived to my appointment a few minutes before my scheduled service and the receptionist greeted me and offered refreshments. I could have sworn that wine was usually offered but I guess they only had water and tea at this location. Fine, that doesn't make or break my experience. From the get go it seemed like the receptionist was more concerned with getting her takeaway pizza from a place next door then actually working and being at the desk. I waited an hour for my appointment which was scheduled at 6:15 PM. At no point did anyone say, we fucked up on scheduling or we are backed up right now please come back another time. There were only three people actually doing hair. There were two other ladies waiting to get their hair done before me, which were being attended to by two stylists. The third stylist was working on another client that was there prior to me going in. It became evident that as the hour of waiting passes by that the two other stylists were going slow as possible on their clients so they wouldn't have to take me. I finally get grabbed by the third stylist around 7:15, mind you I was early to my appointment, Drybar closes at 8. I finally go through the whole process and said I just want a plain blowout to hurry and get out there. At the end of my service my stylist says is it okay if some of your sections are curly? I said sure, I just wanted to get out of this place after like 2 hours. This might be one of the worst blowouts I have ever had. A large portion of the back of my head was left curly, and my hair has so much product in it is feels tacky - like glue not tacky tacky. I've never had a blowout where I dont like to run my fingers through my hair but here I am, already waiting for my next wash so I can get all of this shit out of my hair. Drybar this is an actual disgrace, happy to share a picture of my "hairstyle". Go to an actual salon and get a blowout instead of dealing with this mess.

I frequent this location. The manager, Tiarra, is AMAZING. She's so kind and gentle handed while also making my hair look amazing. I haven't been in a month because I have braids but I'll be back to see you ladies soon. Happy Holidays! Xoxo

Braided updo from Ashley at Drybar!

I was nervous after reading the reviews, but a friend and I decided to give it a shot and book last minute updos for a wedding we were attending. I've seen some reviews where people were kept waiting long past their appointment times, but I only needed to wait about two minutes while my stylist prepared her station. Everyone working was friendly and accommodating. I got compliments on my hair all night and the style held up flawlessly to dancing, rain, and humidity.

Incredibly rude service from the receptionist, Erin. Save your money and don't support this location. It is awful.

I had one of the worst salon experiences of my life…read more I contacted this stylist through Instagram after seeing his advertisements. Before making the appointment, I asked for the price, and I have screenshots showing that I was quoted $120, including a highlight touch-up, toner/gloss, haircut, and blow-dry. When I arrived at the salon, I was suddenly told the service would cost over $400. I was shocked because this was completely different from what I had been told in writing. I started to leave, but the stylist stopped me and eventually lowered the price to $300. Unfortunately, the pricing issue ended up being the smallest problem. During the bleaching process, after about 20 minutes, my scalp and even my ears became extremely hot and painful. I immediately told the stylist that something was wrong. Instead of checking my hair, I was told the bleach needed to stay on for about an hour. I trusted his professional judgment. That trust cost me years of healthy hair growth. After washing my hair, he deliberately stood in front of the mirror while blow-drying so I couldn't clearly see the condition of my hair until he had finished. He never performed the haircut that had been included in the agreed service, quickly parted my hair differently from how I normally wear it, rushed me to pay through Venmo, and I left before realizing the full extent of the damage. Once I got home, I discovered that many of the highlighted sections throughout the sides, back, and underneath my hair had been chemically burned off and broken. My hair had previously reached my waist. Now, many highlighted sections have snapped off dramatically, leaving parts of my hair several inches shorter. The color is also uneven, with dark ends, greenish tones, and a result that looks nothing like what I requested. To make matters worse, the bleach also permanently damaged my clothing. This is far beyond simply being unhappy with a color. My hair suffered severe chemical damage, and I lost years of growth in a single appointment. I have photographs, screenshots of our conversations, proof of the quoted price, proof of payment, and documentation of the damage. I cannot recommend this salon or stylist to anyone.

Lisa, at Studio L, is one of my favorite hair stylists and her salon provides such a great experience. Nested right by the Dizz in Remington, this row home converted to a salon provides an atmosphere that is warm and inviting. She has refreshments to sip while you wait and various products, if interested, to try in your hair. I really appreciate that she's never tried to sell me products especially if I'm not particularly interested in them. She is great at looking at an image I bring in or description of what type of look I'm going for and matching it. I trust her with my hair color and my hair cut and refer my dearest friends to her. Most importantly, she is affordable! She never rushes your cut and color but does respect that your time is valuable. She makes her customers feel like they're the top priority in the salon. She has also used products on my hair that are particularly safe and not filled with harsh chemicals.
