I've been to Drybar, many many times. From when they opened to now, and i've gone to locations all over the US. My last appointment will probably be my last time coming. I showed up for my appointment, no issues there, they started washing my hair. My stylist was in fact wonderful and so kind, he joked at one point about looking for hair extensions, i have very long and thicker hair. When he was finished, I went to go pay, mind you there was no receptionist, some stylist was helping me. My total was $99. The blowout and then some random "extra time charge" for $39? I had no time to talk about this nor was there anyone to actually explain and help me. The girl prompting the machine had her other hand in someone's hair!!! $99 for a blowout????? Yall are tripping. And no one, once told me i'd have to pay an "extra time charge". I've been to Drybar more times than i can count on my fingers and toes and have never been charged this? Love the girls here, they do a fantastic job. But I've recently noticed that they're rushing through the blow-dry , I feel like it normally takes about 45 to an hr with the whole wash , head massage an style But this last time I went they seemed rushed, the experience was not the same. We pay for the whole experience not a half way job. Wow, came in hot and sweaty and left looking like a woman ready to slay the day! I am a little perplexed by the bad reviews... this Drybar location had all of the consistency I have come to expect from Drybar: cool and comfortable seating, romcoms on the TVs, plugs to charge my phone and super friendly customer service! Antoneill took the time to ask what I wanted and made it happen! Shout out to her for turning my frown upside down! She gave me a stellar blowout with flowing curls that will last for days. Gabrielle was awesome at the front desk and checked me in quickly and helped answer all my questions when I left. I am super needy but she didn't mind. You get to pick out whatever style you want from the look book which is great, depending on your mood. You can also book ahead on the app and rest assured that you will be able to arrive on time and leave looking fly! I have been to a few different Drybar locations and highly recommend this one. I've been a loyal customer of Dry Bar Burbank for a while, and I've always loved the service provided by the skilled stylists. However, Allison. Her attitude was incredibly rude and unpleasant. She didn't greet me upon entering, which was unusual for this establishment. What bothered me even more was witnessing her biting her nails and spitting them all over the counter, which was frankly disgusting. During my hair appointment, Allison repeatedly interrupted my stylist, pressuring them to hurry up. This made me feel targeted and uncomfortable. It's clear that Allison could benefit from some lessons in customer service and proper work etiquette. individuals like Allison should not be in front-of-house roles at such establishments. Allison's customer service is severely lacking in every aspect. I've never had problems at any other DryBar location until today. I came in with my two friends (they had appointments at 12:15, I was a walk-in). I knew going in I may get seen, I might not. The front desk lady told us that I should just wait and see if I get in. So I didn't bother ordering a Lyft to leave and get lunch. 15 minutes roll by. Half hour rolls by. None of us have been seen or talked to. 45 minutes have now rolled by. At 1:00pm (45 min after their appointment times) they're finally seen. I ask "hey, I know it's busy, did you ever grab my name for the waitlist like we asked?" The same front desk lady looked at me like I was stupid and said, "I told your friends (I was right there) we aren't doing walk ins today." My sister and I went in a couple weeks ago together, she had a blow out and I had an up-tini. Neither one of us normally goes in to get our hair done, we always do it ourselves but decided to go to drybar on this day as we had a wedding to attend and it was also my birthday. We got there a few minutes late for our appointments and the staff was busy too so we had to wait a little before we could be seated. I'm giving 3 stars since the girl that did my up-tini did a nice job. It wasn't perfect but it was nice enough that I could attend the event without worrying about my hair. My sister, on the other hand, was horrified as her hair was a disaster. The guy that did her hair did a horrible job. She asked for a blowout with some big curls with volume and there was no volume, her hair was flat on her head. No curls either. We finished our hair, paid, left the place rushing to get home so we could fix her hair to go to our event. My sister, being super nice, felt bad to say something more to the guy and ask to fix her hair as she was not happy with it. She mentioned to him few times she wants volume and curls but after seeing he is not executing correctly, she gave up and we rushed home to fix her hair. I had to re-curl and tease her hair to add volume and curls and make her hair look presentable. We went to drybar so we could enjoy ourselves for the afternoon and not have to worry about doing our hair, however we left unhappy and ended up having to worry about our hair anyways. We didn't go in to pay for a blowout and walk out having to re-do it. Associates that work here should be well trained and know how to do their job well. People come in and pay for a service expecting a decent result. We shouldn't have to pay for a service and have to re-do it ourselves. If we wanted to do our own hair, we would've stayed home, saved our $60-100 and did it ourselves. This experience was a disaster when it really should and could have been pleasant. I submitted a review to drybar Burbank regarding our experience and they came back saying we could've gone back within 24th ours for a touch up. Going back 24 hours later for a touch up wasn't going to cut it, we had a wedding to attend. This is unacceptable. This was my first time visiting a Drybar and it was pretty fun! I didn't exactly know how to describe what I wanted and the stylist didn't tell me about the style menu until it was already underway. I described wavy curls away from my faces and I have long hair, but when I came away, the waves are there but not really curls. I said it was fine and walked away, but I think I will be more specific or just say curls next time. We were also seen late even though we had an appointment for 2 people. I had a blow out this morning scheduled for 10:15. I was called by an employee and told "a stylist called out." (Not my problem). I asked to be accommodated at another Drybar locally and her for to accommodate. She said "unfortunately I can't do that." She was extremely unhelpful. Gave zero solution. She would not even honor anything for her error. I then asked to speak with manager-- "George." Who just put the phone down as I spoke .... he wasn't responding when I was talking. I could tell the phone was left on the desk. When I told him, something needs to be done for customer service reasons. If I no show I'm charged full service. How can you not accommodate? The good news: they finally allow you to actually speak to the shop itself regarding appointments. This has been 15 years in the making, because as anyone who's ever tried to book with Dry Bar in the past knows, it was absolutely impossible to get through to a live human being on the phone, everything was supposed to be done through the app or website, and when you did speak to someone, it was usually connecting through to a foreign country where they had no clue what the business actually was and that would lead to several misunderstandings. So, as I said, the good news is that after Covid to entice business, the ownership finally is allowing for the actual salons themselves to communicate with guests. The bad news: people answering the phones and doing the scheduling are not trained enough to avoid mistakes by the handful. I tried to make an appointment a few weeks ago, and fortuitously had called ahead just to ask if I might arrive early and if that would make a difference as to when I could be seen. Unfortunately, my name was nowhere on the schedule despite having scheduled it with someone in person just a few days ago. They were very nice, and offered to move things around at the last minute so that I could still get an appointment; still it left an unpleasant taste to know that all of that time and energy discussing my appointment previously have been for naught A few weeks later I wanted to request the same gal who had done my hair, and was given the windows that she was available by the assistant manager, Yesenia. Again we did this in person over the phone, and I asked a few times out of nervousness, "there won't be an issue with my appointment not being there when I show up, correct?" The assistant manager assured me several times that she was putting it in herself, and that there would be no problems. So again, the day before the appointment, I called just to confirm that my name was there, and that the stylist I requested would be available at the time that I was scheduled ... You probably get where this is going: of course, my name is nowhere on the schedule. Not at a different time, and nowhere on that day. At this point obviously there was no excuse, so I made it clear that this was not acceptable, and then if even the assistant manager couldn't schedule me correctly, they gave me no confidence scheduling in the future. So for about half an hour the shop scrambled to figure out how to rearrange things so that I could have the appointment and the stylist that I was supposed to be with. Ultimately they managed to move things around, and left it by telling me that if I wanted to show up 15 minutes earlier, she should be able to even take me 15 minutes earlier if that would help out my day. I said that it would, and so we left it that I would arrive 15 minutes prior to my appointment. When I showed up at the shop, the stylist was nowhere near ready to take me "early", SHE WAS RUNNING 15 BEHIND, and it was only the beginning of her shift. The front desk gentleman "Louis" is the type that loves to say "hon" as if that mitigates just rudeness and lack of professionalism when necessary; when I asked him if he could please go speak to my stylist since she was running so behind, he told me that "I could go do it". So I asked him if he didn't want to politely do it, since he worked there, and he kept telling me that I should do it. He then lied and said "I already did".... DESPITE having never once dive so since I'd arrived 15 minutes earlier. TERRIBLE customer service. Like many other clients, over the years I had come to lose confidence in the dry bar prior to Covid because appointments were always running behind, stylists you requested were not in on the day that you came in, and while the quality of work was generally consistently good, you could also end up with somebody who was brand new to blowouts, that was there basically to learn. It seems that post Covid, despite best efforts, it is unfortunately still a bit of a crapshoot appointment to appointment. For this particular location, I hope Kimberly and her team become better at keeping their word, monitoring the schedule better, and honoring what clients request. Thank you. read more

This location definitely needs some love! When they had the FX "Better Things" promotion mid-September for FREE blowouts ALL DAY, there was no way I could resist the offer and signed up! Upon my arrival, it's in a lovely location on Riverside Drive. However, there's no parking lot so be sure to make time to look for street parking. No problem, I got my steps in! The front desk was pleasant offering water or champagne and I took some water. The location is clean and beautiful in whites and yellows. The clientele was relaxed, reading magazines and drinking champagne. A nice atmosphere. Melissa was my assigned stylist and was chatty and pleasant -- in a good way. She first took me to a back room for my shampoo and styled my hair a la the Cosmo. My hair is thick as thieves so the fact she gave me a great style with a good hold says a lot. I wanted to tip her and she said it wasn't necessary (modest, I like that). I nevertheless, tipped her via the receptionist and called it a day. I do not like giving reviews that are anything but five stars but hoping to offer some clarity. This Drybar is very clean and aesthetic. However, the few times I've gotten styling here I've been very disappointed. Blowouts are usually fine except for one time where the gentleman did not know how to blowout hair. I could tell by the way he was holding the brush, how slow he was going, and how each piece of my hair was burning. If you're coming here I'd stick to blowouts unless you have a stylist you love. read more

I have a membership here, or at least I had a membership here, I booked an appointment for the beginning of the month, assuming a new month had started, I assumed I had my two blowouts still. After getting my service, I was told I was one day away from the new month starting and I was charged for the blowout. The location offered no kind of solution, other than to charge me the full rate. The person working the front desk clearly doesn't want to be there and has no hair experience. The scheduling is a mess and it's so difficult to book specific stylists since they continue to cut hours and mess with scheduling. I could ignore all that but the last time I was in they were using drug store brand products on my hair! A company with their own high end product line is buying and using tresseme! I've been going to my favorite hairstylist for a year now but after covid restrictions shut down her salon I was in need of a new place. I had a trip planned and needed my hair done last minute when I remembered there's a Drybar pretty close to home. It's really hard to find a place I feel comfortable because finding a stylist not only able to do Black hair but also be good at it can be challenging. Sophia literally left me in shock. She had me in and out in less than an hour and my hair looks and feels amazing. I opted for the Liquid Glass treatment which kept my edges sleek throughout my travels and that's pretty unheard of for me. I've been to Drybar before but the stylist usually seem a bit uneasy when doing my hair. Sophia wasn't fazed one bit. Now I know why, she knew what she was doing! I just hope I get her every time I go in. She's definitely the reason I'll start going to Drybar regularly now. read more

Despite the small mishap in scheduling my requested service I left the salon feeling completely satisfied! The front desk staff were very friendly, attentive, and kind. Raffi washed my hair which in itself felt like a luxurious spa experience! Bri was very kind to step in and work on my updo even though it was completely out of schedule for her. She was very sweet, genuine, and matched my updo to the inspo photo I presented her. I have very fine unruly hair so generally my hair updos fall apart in less than an hour but this lasted all evening without feeling overly dry from hair spray. Attached is a screenshot of the email I received from Drybar back in September of this year promising a free movie ticket if you got a blowout starting September 10. I booked for September 10. While I was paying, I asked, "When will I receive the movie ticket?" The receptionist looked confused, so she asked her manager, who was in the back. The manager said she did not know what I was talking about. I showed her the email. She called corporate. After she got off the phone, she said, "Once this transaction goes through, they'll email you." I called corporate, and spoke to Lei on September 21, 2018. She said that she would escalate my request to the regional manager. She told me to call back on September 24 if I had not heard back from Drybar. I had not, so I called again on September 24. The person who answered said she had not heard of the promotion (how is this? Does Drybar not communicate with its employees?!?!?), but again said she would pass it along. It's now almost December, and I haven't heard anything, nor did I ever receive my free movie ticket. In the Consumer Affairs Fraud Division, that's called "bait and switch," and it's illegal. You would think a nationwide company like Drybar would not engage in such practices. read more

I went in for a wedding hair trial. I was matched with Nidia - and I absolutely fell in Love!!! She listen to everything I wanted, looked at every picture I showed her, and was incredible at creating the most gorgeous hairstyle I've ever had. She went above and beyond! I am so excited to have her do my hair for my actual wedding. I got SO many compliments!!!! I only wish the place validated for parking. I have been going to Dry Bar Burbank since they opened. I've had two back to back incidents that reflect a lack of customer service and cultural sensitivity. First visit the stylist asked why I was getting my hair done, I told her I was attending an Award show later that day. She then asked if I was "working in the back". As an African American women I was mortified at the assumption that I am a service worker when in fact I am the Senior Vice President of marketing. Second was when I arrived 10 min late today. I know I was late but when I have called before they said there's a 15 min grace period. I asked for an up do and offered to not have them wash my hair to save time for the next appointments. My hair is extremely curly so I know this would have saved an hour. The manager refused to budge without offering any possible solutions too meet each otHer halfway. I wouldn't be so upset except that I am there almost every week for years and have only been late once before. The manager knows me by name and knows how long it takes to blow dry. It was more important for her to prove a point or show authority than to value a loyal customer. In LA where there is a surplus of salons to get a blow out it is disheartening to see how little dry bar values its customers. Glam Squad comes to your house for only $10 more!
