I booked the first appointment of the day. I arrived a few minutes late only to learn that my stylist was even later. By the time we got started, it was 15 minutes after my scheduled time. This was unfortunate because I was on a tight schedule, and hoped that by booking the first appointment of the day, I would get started on time. The person at the front desk was not at all friendly, to the point where I would have left if they didn't have my credit card on file. I had called to reschedule my appointment and she sighed and acted very annoyed. Then when I checked out after my blowout, I used a gift card and she gave me a dirty look and sighed and made it very clear the extra work was annoying. She even told me the digital gift card didn't work (it did) as if it was a ploy for me to pay cash. Once I asked her to read the number back to me to confirm it was right, it suddenly worked. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Second the previous posters - this location is a huge rip-off. I purchased a 3 blowout package on Feb 20 which was due to expire in 6 months (180 days). I called this location on August 18th to ask about package expiration and was told it would be tomorrow (19th). 180 days from Feb 20 is Aug 19. So I booked my last remaining blowout for this day. After the blowout, I was told the package was no longer showing up in their system. The manager was rude and dismissive and told me she'll have to go ahead and charge the card on file but will get back to me within a day. Since then, there has been no update. Visiting from out of town for work and needed a fresh blow out my friend recommended Dry Bar. Made a reservation for same day appointment. Was greeted by a super nice receptionist sorry I didn't get her name. My stylist greeted me right away and was very attentive. I got a fresh blow dry with curls and it came out fabulous. I loved all the products they used on my hair. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Will definitely visit again next time I am in the city. read more

The chandelier's have a build up of dirt hanging on them, every corner is filled with dirt build up, the moldings everywhere were filthy. The paint everywhere is well worn. I got a blowout by Sophia M. Normally I wouldn't pay for a service like this, but I was visiting NYC and unable to check into my hotel so I couldn't wash, blow dry, and style my own hair. The stylist gave me a very quick shampoo and did not condition. She did not put mousse, heat protectant, or any styling product in my hair which I thought was standard for a blowout? The stylist did not part my hair, which resulted in my layers being uneven. I asked for a Manhattan, which is a smooth, straight, and sleek style. She started to CURL my hair with a CURLING IRON. Yes, I corrected her. The flat iron was then turned all the way up to 490 degrees with no heat protectant. I could literally hear my hair drying off. She did an overall bad job styling it. My hair does not look smooth or straight. I was not given a chance to look in the mirror before I was literally rushed up to the front desk and out the door. Won't be back! read more

I've had good experiences with Drybar, but the Flatiron (on the first and only visit) location did not meet the standard. Despite confirming a pin straight blowout (and showing a picture to add volume at the crown and bangs) I left with my hair looking curly at the bottom and pin straight on the sides. Unfortunately I did not have the time to sit through additional time to get it fixed. I will likely need to reset and use a straightening tool at home to get what I need. Not satisfactory at all for almost $70 of charges. read more

Arrived on time for my 7:15 pm appointment and when I asked at 7:40 when I would be taken was told by the receptionist that the stylist was tired and had left. He was going to try to find me another stylist. After another 20 minutes and no communication I inquired again and the receptionist was short with me but told me yes he had found someone. I was taken at 8:30 pm by a lovely stylist who stayed late. I appreciated her but the overall experience was not good. Wish I could recommend the Village or Bloomies locations but I've also experienced late appointments and customer service issues at both those DryBars. The girl that did my hair was absolutely ridiculous. When washing my hair she was twisting it into a pony tail so tight that i thought it was going to be ripped out of my head. I have thick hair and not much hurts me, but this was absolutely wild. I then told her that I wanted loose beach waves and pointed to the exact picture in the book of hair styles that she gave me. She blows my hair out, painfully might i add, and then continues to curl my hair with a straightener ?! I was appalled at the entire experience. I'm sure there is probably a range of skillsets across the staff at drybar. Unfortunately, my last visit was with someone who really did not know what they were doing. I came in because I had an event I wanted my hair to look extra good for, and left with it looking worse than I could've done myself. My hair is healthy and not finicky. I always leave my regular salon appointments with it looking smooth and nice. You can see from the picture that is not what happened at drybar. They also handled my hair super rough. I was concerned about damage from how hard the stylist was pulling. I have never had that experience at a salon before. I would advise not using this place for an important event, or at least reading through reviews to find a stylist other people like if you absolutely have to. I wanted the simplest blowout--straight with a little volume. I did not want it flatironed and I didn't want it curled. The stylist did not seem to understand this concept. I am not a hair professional, but every other salon I have been to in my life has been able to blowout my hair using a round brush. It was a really disappointing experience. They also didn't even offer me a coffee or water, which would've helped ease the spiritual pain of going to my event looking like a lighting strike victim. read more

I've given this location multiple chances and after my last experience I've given up. The stylist used her long, acrylic nails to wash and brush my hair. My hair knots super easily, so she was forcing her nails through my hair instead of using a brush (like wtf??). It was quite painful and I was on edge the entire time. DO NOT GO TO DRYBAR!!!! The correct name is RIP OFF BAR!! I booked an "Up-Tini" with a 1 hour + 15 minute schedule. The appointment consisted of the stylist putting 12 bobby pins and one elastic and spraying about 3 seconds of product on my hair over the course of 20 minutes. NOTHING MORE. It was clear that they did not plan to spend the full 1+ hour on my hair because another client was waiting for her appointment and filled my chair as soon as I got up to pay. Not only was I charged $99 for a 20 minute appointment and a simple "up do" on my thin, shoulder length (NO extensions, layers, etc. - just straight, blonde shoulder length) hair, but the DEFAULT tip was set at 24% ranging up to 32%!!! REALLY!!! Overcharging and then expecting such a large tip!?!??!??!? I almost didn't leave a tip at all but if the charges and default tip amounts are established by the franchise holder, I didn't want to make a statement at the expense of the stylist so I left a 15% tip instead of my usual 20%. DO. NOT. GO. TO. DRYBAR. DYRBAR IS A RIP OFF!!!!!!! Five stars for Usha Two stars for the others Stopped by with my sister-in-law for two 3pm appointments. My SIL was seen on time. I ended up waiting 15 min, for no reason other than "oh, I haven't made it a priority to tell the stylist you're here." My stylist, Vic, was neither friendly nor thorough with straightening. I had to ask her to use heat protectant spray, and to get the hair by my ears. I have thick, long hair, so was surprised she didn't use any clips to divide into sections. I felt very uncomfortable with the whole experience. After my shotty job, I went to sit by my SIL (side note - even though everyone knew we were together, and there were empty seats next to both of us, we were not allowed to sit together) . Anyway, not only was Usha extremely warm and kind with the way she worked w my SIL and her hair, but she also offered to fix all of sections on *my* hair that were missed by Vic. Absolute joke. I came here last weekend and I'm still so angry about it. First of all I was told my appointment would be 45 minutes long so I planned a lunch reservation based off of that time frame. It took an hour and 10 minutes and for why, I do not know. So I missed the reservation I had made for 30 minutes after when I thought I'd be done and was charged by the restaurant for it. My two huge issues however have nothing to do with the misleading quote time. For one, my hair did not hold up AT ALL! I asked for the mai Tai and as I was in the salon my hair looked absolutely amazing. I felt like a million bucks. However by the time I got home an hour later to get ready for my day (sans lunch reservation) I looked in the mirror and saw all my curls had vanished. It was not raining that day and it was not windy but somehow my fresh blowout didn't last even an hour. My stylist kept saying he was doing my curls tight so that it would last and the next day would be my best day. Yeah right!!!! I had to spend 40 minutes at home Curling my hair with my own drybar Curling iron just to get it close to looking how it did before I walked out the door! Why waste my time, money and energy for a blowout that didn't last even my commute home?! Secondly, this was my first blowout from drybar so I had a $10 off coupon. At the end I noticed it wasn't applied and I asked. The receptionist said she gave it to my friend who came in with me instead. Once again it was MY coupon. I booked MY appointment with it and she messed up. When I tried showing her my email confirmation for the coupon for my appointment and the one for my friends she just said "sorry. I can't do anything about it." I've since sent two emails to customer service explaining the absolute nightmare this has been and I've heard NOTHING! I love drybar products. Every single tool and product in my bathroom is all drybar. So to be let so down and to be taken such advantage of by this company is an absolute travesty. They should be arrested for the pure thievery and breach of contract they showcased on my appointment. Absolutely disgusting trash human behavior by a huge corporation. Booked a blowout for a friend and I when we were visiting NYC. I am a member at Drybar in Colorado and love it. However, this Drybar is one word: disgusting. The floors, chandeliers, wash room are so dirty. Hair everywhere and built up dust and dirt. My stylist used a brush that had other people's hair in it. Not sanitary. The stylists are unprofessional, on their phones, not dressed nice. It's just not up to normal Drybar standards. Would not return. read more

I went to Drybar for years in Los Angeles and it was such an amazing experience. They had amazing customer service. You were offered a glass of champagne and watched rom coms. I went to this location and was sad to see how this brand deteriorated. This experience was such a joke. They were so rude. They hardly touched my head during the shampoo, they hardly even styled my hair. They just made my wet hair dry and then charged me 100 bucks. It's so refreshing to be able to book an appointment before work and still arrive before a 9 am meeting. I go to this location when I need a simple no frills blow out usually when trying to stretch out my new growth right before getting a color touch up at my primary salon. It is also close to the train so I don't have to walk far from the station. I have never had a problem with them being late for appointments and I always manage to get to work on time before 9 am. I am always surprised at the number of people who also book early morning appointments as it looks like a typical Saturday morning when I arrive. I don't ask or schedule with any stylist in particular, however each stylist that I have used has been able to manage my naturally curly hair with no problem. read more

Had an appt for an up tini for a black tie event. When we arrived, I could already tell the facility was run down and not clean. My stylist hardly spoke to me during my service and my style was horrible (even though I showed several pictures and the stylist acted as though she was able to execute with no issues). When I was finished she did not even show me the back of my hair or ask if there were any changes that she should make. She just told me "okay you're done". As soon as I got back to my hotel, my hair was already falling out of the updo style. I would never go back to this place. Lisa was absolutely awesome when it came to updo's. I had a really big presentation this week for my masters program and I needed a nice updo to keep hair out of my face for filming and Lisa did a beautiful side braid that went into a bun. I got tons of compliments and the pricing was reasonable. I love Drybar because everyone is friendly and they always offer you a drink and have free little cookies. I would suggest you get hairspray when you leave. A few girls from my class didn't put that much product and within a few hours hair style was completely flat. Anyway, Lisa rocks!!!! read more

I have been to Drybars across the country and this is by far the WORST experience I've EVER had getting a blow out. Due to the coronavirus the Drybar location near me is closed so I have visited this one twice. The first visit went fine, decent blowed out curls. However, my visit today started off terribly. I booked an appointment for 10am and when I arrived on time all of the stylists and manager were standing outside the salon. They somewhat apologized and said they were waiting for someone to bring the keys (I assumed another manager). Ten minutes later, to my surprise, a man drove up to the salon rolled down the window and the manager walked over grabbed the keys and kissed him (I'm assuming her partner) goodbye in front of her entire staff and clients. She then invited me and another client in to a dark salon which had obviously not been properly prepped for opening. The time it took to turn on all the lights, music, staff to put things away, set up stations, and overall dawdling caused an obvious delay. Also, they took almost no proper Covid-19 precautions!! When I sat down I told my stylist I wanted curls with the blow dryer, which I have gotten before from this very salon (and is the simplest possible request). I told her that I don't want to put the heat of a curling iron on my color treated hair. She started my blow dry and I noticed that SHE IS WATCHING THE MOVIE they have on and basically just messy drying my hair as I would at home. As we get to the end she insults me by saying: "YOUR HAIR WON'T CURL BECAUSE IT'S COLOR TREATED, SO UH ONCE YOU GET YOUR HAIR HEALTHY IT WILL." (Another stylist had done blown out curls last week at the same location with no problems). I told her no, it isn't in curls because you need to clip up each section after you blow it dry with a round brush. I then pointed to the woman next to me whose hair had been put into clips. Then, she was like "oh uhh clips..." At this point I just wanted to leave so I told her just to finish it however. It looks WORSE than if I had just let it dry at home myself. I understand what it's like to work in a store, you need the proper amount of time before opening especially during COVID-19, they should NEVER let clients book appointments this early if nothing is going to be sanitized and you aren't even able to enter the salon. I will NEVER GO BACK to this location & you should definitely SKIP IT!!! read more

I had to ask the woman to lay off the heat as my hair was dry and she repeatedly kept going over the same piece... I truly think she was high. The hells kitchen location was equally terrible.
