Being a blow out queen and used to getting them every Sunday I was ECSTATIC for this one. This was my first "dry shampoo" I owned so the fact they had one of these I love it!!! This one is adorable! I specifically requested someone that specializes in diverse hair types as I am an African American woman. I have come before and EBONY WAS AMAZING. I requested Ebony and the front desk rep brushed it off. ( mind you; Ebony was working today, she took the guest ahead of me ) Today they assigned me a woman who gave so so customer service as well as I had to wait 30 minutes after my appointment time to be seen . I get finished with the appointment and my hair looks like nothing happened to it. My edges and roots not straight at all. The stylist even had the nerve to say that maybe I need different hot tools for my texture. I don't appreciate how my request for someone who can accommodate my hair type was completely disregarded. Not sure what's been going on with drybar, but they've been so inconsistent. I have had great experiences in the past, but this was not it. I went to get a classic blowout for a wedding for which I was a bridesmaids. I provided inspiration pictures and let the stylist know exactly what I was looking for. She was nice, but did not check in or make suggestions. It was going great until she started to curl my hair which I did not want. After she curled it she realized it didn't look good because my hair is thin. She then proceeded to say that she'll blow dry it out but she'll do it on cool because she didn't want to put too much heat on my hair. But it just kept getting worse from there. She then suggested that I pin it. At that point I just wanted to leave because it wasn't going to be saved. I ended up having to put my hair up while I was in the wedding and it was just such a terrible experience. I personally don't think I could recommend this dry bar. Dude these prices are a joke. I recently had surgery and cannot wash my own hair because it's super difficult. I said I needed a wash and dry due to this and I was just going back home after the service. They charged me $99. $99 to wash and dry my hair lol. Plus tip. I'm a frequent Drybar customer and travel often, so I rely on timely, professional service. I pre-scheduled this appointment nearly a month in advance for 1:00 PM, which was confirmed via email. I arrived early at 12:45 PM directly from the airport--only to be told my appointment was changed to 1:15 PM without any notice. I explained the timing was crucial due to wedding obligations, and the front desk staff just shrugged and said, "Well, it's changed." Eventually, they said they'd check me in as a 1:00 PM appointment since I had proof. But I sat there and watched every other client get called before me. At 1:10, I asked another front desk employee what was happening. She looked confused and said, "I'm sure it'll be soon." I asked to speak to a manager. She disappeared, came back, and said they'd put me next--but I still wasn't called back until 1:20. I again asked to speak to a manager. She went to the back, returned, and told me the manager was "too busy." When I left and asked again to speak with someone in charge or to get franchise contact info, I was told no. The best they could do was say, "Maybe someone will reach out later." No accountability, no apology, no sense of urgency. This entire ordeal wasted my time and cost me extra money. I Ubered straight from the airport instead of going home because I was trying to be punctual. Had they communicated the change, I could have adjusted my plans and avoided being late for a wedding. So good news first is I have been here many times and I have had beautiful hair service provided by stylists. Morgan, my last good stylist is amazing at her job and sweet, she knows what she's doing and has amazing technical skills.. 100% recommend her!! Now for the bad news ... This last experience yesterday 12/11 I had what was by far the most disappointing and upsetting experience I've had getting my hair done here. When we got there it seemed the staff were trying to already go home before closing time when it was 5pm. (7pm close) I had Jenna, now she was a nice person, but as for her hair techniques there was slim to none. No technique, just basic. I was shocked, I asked for volume and big curls , they have a Southern styling they offer and I trusted her cause ive done the style there many times. I have never had issues till yesterday. My hair holds curls in very well!!It usually falls out after 4 days! This hairstyle fell out after 2 hours... She didn't have any real technical skills shown while styling my hair, (tbh my niece who's 14 could have done a better job on my hair) but I wanted a professional! I was nice to her the whole interaction to mask my feelings, cause I was trying to have hope and give her the benefit of the doubt. As she finish's styling my hair after approx 40 minutes, which felt and looked rushed, she asked if I wanted her to curl more curls in the middle of my hair to bring more body and shape, I eagerly agreed and as she added a couple more curls I knew there was no use into asking her to do more curls, as I don't think she knew what I wanted and just did her own thing instead of what I asked for.. nothing personal just being honest. I instantly when I got home went to re- curl and fix my hair, I'm upset at how it looked at the end, she teased my hair on top for volume initially but there is no volume whatsoever it's so flat, ugly, and dull. I asked for the curls to be tight so it could loosen the next day ,and when she finished I knew the curls wouldn't last comparing to other experiences where my hair is curly, bouncy, and luscious. This time...It looked like I took my hair out of a braid I wore all day. I cried after we left because I was so emotionally drained and just wanted to leave. We also booked for 5:15pm slot so maybe they just were mentally done for the day, it seemed they were ready to close when we came in, maybe we shouldve came in earlier but we wanted to do something special since we both work 2 jobs and school full time and never have free time. I'd expect to still have good service since they close at 7pm....even when we were checking out the staff turned the music off showing how they were all eager to leave. I understand wanting to go home , as I'm in the service industry and have respect for customer service workers, but I felt very rushed and didn't have any love put into my hair. Service was mixed but generally had a bad experience at this location. I booked an appointment for a dry style, coming in aaking for curls and a lot of volume. The stylist was not very friendly, did not understand or try to visualize my requests, and seemed frustrated when I asked for more clarification. The stylist next to mine had provided some feedback and suggestions to mine, realizing the disconnect in our conversation. My stylist then suggested to upgrade to a blowout, saying that it would help with getting more volume. I had already washed my hair and only wanted a curl but she insisted so I did. After washing my hair she says that I dont have many layers so it might be hard to give a proper blowout, something that was really annoying because why wouldnt you acknowledge that earlier? I asked if she could incorporate some curl if the blowout wasnt gonna work out, she seemed really frustrated by me asking this but I wasn't sure what else to say now. She took a while to just dry my hair and then proceeded to curl it and send me on my way. From my end, I did not respond when she asked if I wanted any changes bc what could she do now? She was frustrating to work with and the vibe was awkward and uncomfortable. I wanted to leave asap. The other stylist approached me as I was leaving and asked me if I was satisfied with my hair and told me to fill out the survey when sent. She said she noticed it was not what I was asking for, confirming that she saw the miscommunication. I appreciate her willingness and going out of her way to acknowledge me. I truly struggle writing this review as I've never written a negative Yelp, but I had a pretty disturbing encounter at this drybar. I will preface this by saying that I am a Black woman with curly textured hair, and this was mentioned in the notes of my appointment. I also called ahead the day prior. I was thrilled to see multiple ethnicities represented in the stylists at this Drybar. I've been here 3 times before (and had a great experience), despite the fact that their staff was not particularly diverse. I checked in and was called back by Amanda, who stated that she was well-versed in textured hair and comfortable doing my blowout. Awesome. Love it. Fast forward 30 min of dry detangling (major no-no for curly hair), i politely asked Amanda if we could maybe detangle in the bowl. She obliged. After my wash, I was surprised to notice that my hair was still tangled. She then proceeded to try to damp-detangle at the chair. She also added tons of leave in conditioner (which would create a greasy look after blow-drying). After about 10 min of failing to detangle me again, I told amanda I didn't think this would work. She responded that she could not accommodate another stylist to take care of me, that requests were not honored on Fridays or Saturdays. I let her know how disappointing this was as I have family photos this evening and will not be able to have my hair styled. She did not offer an apology. She also mentioned that they do not place clients with stylists based on hair type or comfort, and that "Sometimes our Black stylists don't "feel like dealing with textured hair that day." You can imagine how dehumanizing that was. (I will mention the look on the Black stylist's face was aghast at hearing this comment). I left the salon with sopping wet, tangled hair, tears in my eyes and a sinking feeling. Amanda is the manager so this is the only way to ensure my voice will be heard. I will not be returning to Drybar in Sacramento and I would suggest that women with textured hair avoid at all costs. Drybar Sacramento, and Amanda specifically, would benefit greatly from some inclusivity training. Sacramento is a diverse population and should be treated as such. Do. Better. Melina is absolutely amazing I can't even enough good things about the service I got from her. this is my first ever blowout, she worked beautifully with my hair type and completely listened to my original requests. Towards the end even double checked to see what little tweaks she can do to perfect it and it turned out so beautiful. She's beyond wonderful, it was a very relaxing experience for me. Pain-free surprisingly as any time I've gotten my hair done in the past color and such and had to have it styled in the end it felt like my hair was getting ripped off due to it being tangled but this time around it was completely smooth, just overall amazing experience with her. Original price I was quoted $64 and I paid $54 with my first time discount + added tip so it came out to $64 total which is wonderful. My hair is quite long and pretty full so it did take extra time then the 45 minutes so for my next visit for a blow out I was quoted $124 or so, which is quite pricy for me but I'm definitely considering going again for a blow out before I give birth with Melina as she truly is wonderful and feel like is one of a kind and not an experience and amazing outcome I can get again with someone else! We went for a fun staff day with coworkers today. It's a super cute place , very clean and fun. A perfect way to start the day watching Christmas movies and drinking mimosas with your girls. They offer a variety of different styles, cutely named after cocktails. Natalie was my stylist and made the experience great! She is very personable and bubbly. What a fun experience and a great way to pamper yourself. I walked in not really know what I wanted to do other than the fact that I really needed SOMETHING done to the mess on my head. I was put in the talented hands of Kara and told her to "do whatever." Her response, "Oh this is exciting." She asked me a few questions about my preferences and then began doing her thing. Not only was Kara professional and thorough but she was a kick to chat with while she was styling my hair. When she found out this was my first time there she explained to me all the services available and how it worked. She even broke down the pricing for me. She told me about the owners and their plans to open up a location in Roseville (Im in the south area so Im still rooting for an Elk Grove location). She also recommended making reservations, especially on a Friday or Saturday afternoon. She stated that even if you walk in they will accommodate you but it just may be more of a wait so in order to make sure you get the time you want, reservations are commended. The atmosphere is so cute as well, they thought of everything. They all use the Dry Bar tools and products and everything is thoughtfully coordinated. I even found out they call the blow-dryers "Buttercups," how cute is that??? The "chandeliers" were so fun too, they were made out of "Buttercups." Prices were super reasonable and they even have a monthly charged package that is a really good deal. Not listed on the menu, they also offer "dry styles" which I was told cost $29. Its a great service available if you're in a hurry or short on cash but still want to walk out looking fabulous. Overall, such a great experience, the staff and owners so great. I called 30 minutes ahead of time for a blowout and was given an appointment. I let the stylist know I have extensions and she said it wasn't a problem they have clients with them all the time. With that said she was rough with my hair. When it came down to drying she had no rhyme or reason to her method. No sectioning no tact with my exactions. I then asked her to use a round brush and to section to which she replied it wouldn't do anything because my hair was already dry (it wasn't). Overall I felt like an inconvenience and uncomfortable. The check in area was hectic as people were checking out as well, no one greeted me. I go back to my chair and she starts putting product in. Mid way through they had to switch stylists for whatever reason. I was so happy when I had the opportunity to attend an event here last week and WOW was I impressed! The ladies at the Drybar are top notch! They were all so sweet and attentive. I was offered a mimosa while waiting to get my hair done and they also had bites from Boundin SF available. Carly was my stylist and she was very helpful in explaining the different hair styles and getting the job done. It usually takes me 30-45 minutes to curl my hair due to the thickness but Carly finished in less than 20! My hair was bouncy and beautifully curled. I chose the Cosmo which was described as tighter curls. My hair stayed in tact for three days and I received so many compliments at work and while running errands! I had the opportunity to speak to both business owners as well and they were both very friendly and hospitable. It was like a huge girls night with drinks and great company! This WALK-IN was not welcomed!! I came here for the first time to get a blow out and curl. I wanted to feel good and look nice after having my hair in braids and ponytails while on vacation for 2wks. Mind you my hair is a curly wavy mess. Closing time said 7pm and I got there at 611 pm. The girl behind the counter told me she just sent her hairstylist home and she can't do it because she's training. If you're training wouldn't you want your trainee to get experience doing my hair? So I booked updo Apts for me and a friend for a wedding. We were slightly early. We waited for a few mins and were then sat by our stylists. They asked for inspiration pics which we didn't have but we gave them full stylistic freedom to do whatever. They did a great job on both of us for the time alloted. Could I have had something fancier? Sure. But I was happy with the updo and so great full to not have to deal with my hair on my own. I would def come back for another updo. DryBar is great for lazy people like me. I have curly/wavy/frizzy hair that I dread having to style because it's so time consuming for me to do myself and I have zero patience. Here though, I can pop in, get my hair styled quickly and enjoy a glass of wine at the same time. They do offer shampoo services and updos for all occasions as well. Just no color and no cuts. It's a simple in and out concept that works well. They offer their own line of products and each one they have used on me has been nothing short of great. It holds my hair for long periods of time and their dry shampoo is awesome! When I had red hair I was able to drag out my wash for 5 days. Came here again a few days ago to get ready for an event. They did not disappoint at all! The entire staff is extremely friendly and very professional. One of the owners, Kristine, was there during my appointment and she was so kind. She genuinely wants her customers to be happy when walking out of the salon. I loved how my stylist would walk me through every step and would let me know what products she was putting in my hair. She made it easy for me to tell her what I did and didn't like. My hairstyle lasted me through the entire night and the next working day. I did of course have to refresh my hair a little bit with their dry shampoo. I would recommended anyone here! Wow! Where do I begin?! I have definitely found my newest guilty pleasure. The fact that I can come here before work or an event is a game changer. AND they have a membership!!! Let's start with the service itself. I saw Cynthia and she did a great job! There's a menu that shows the pricing and then a look book to show you what the styles look like. My hair is long and hard to create volume but Cynthia was able to achieve that for me. She was very friendly and super professional. She walked me through each step and would let me know what product she was going to use before applying it to my hair. I chose the style Southern Comfort and the end result was super voluminous and wavy curls. It looked pretty and smelled so good from the products. The space is super chic. It's very elegant and bright and has the pop of their signature yellow color. I like how the stations are designed so that when they turn your chair you see the end result. Makes the process exciting! There's tons of mirrors for you to admire your new do. :) They also have all the products for purchase as well as the styling tools. I attended the Yelp event and was excited to try this new Drybar. I had attended the Yelp event in N. Hollywood for another drybar event. Huge difference! I was disappointed in the Sacramento event as it was not the experience one would receive by going to a drybar. Products were not used. The only thing done was the technicians curled your hair. That's it. You couldn't even begin to know what their products are like nor the service you would receive because you simply had your already styled hair re-curled. read more

Had a wonderful time at the Ladies Night Out Yelp Event! We got free drinks, free food, goody bag with hair products, and free dry style or braid. I loved meeting all the women and hanging out before my style. All of the employees were very friendly and kept asking if we needed more drinks. They took me back quickly and helped me pick a style that was good for my hair type. The stylist was very friendly and chatted with me throughout my time there! I will definitely be back for more! Very disappointed with my last visit to the Drybar. My friend had made us both appointments under her name so they could clearly see that we were together and our stylists first sat us on the complete opposite side of the salon until we asked to sit next to each other. We were there to celebrate my birthday and my stylist was clearly having a bad day which made the experience unenjoyable. I had asked for a voluminous blow out. I left with super flat hair that didn't even look like it had gotten styled. My friend has gotten the the "Mai tai" style and her curls had completely fallen out before we even made it to the car. Overall the experience was a complete waste of money and time. Extremely disappointed with how we left the salon. read more
