I came in for a hair glaze and although I had an appointment I did have to wait a bit past my appointment time. But that's ok, the service was good but I wasn't 100% happy with the results. Staff was friendly and accommodating but i don't think I'll come back for a hair glaze. I haven't tried other services from them. read more

Paid $90 ($75 plus tip) for a very poorly executed haircut. I got a dry curly cut from Marium. She ran 15 minutes late. They have a survey for new customers to match u with a stylist and one question asks what's most important to u in a hairdresser and I chose the answer that said something about someone who listens to what u want. First of all she doesn't know how to cut curly hair--she cut the ends on an angle instead of straight across (a huge no no with curly hair--look at pics to see how bad it looks). I had no idea she did this until long after leaving because I wear glasses so I couldn't see what she was doing during the cut and then I didn't notice it until I was styling it the following day. She also pulled out a lot of the curl in the top layer of hair out in order to put it in clips (which defeats the purpose of the dry cut (which is to be able to see the curls so u know where to cut them)) so she ended up cutting a couple of pieces in the wrong places and they ended up sticking out. I also asked for a straight bob but it was angled so that it was slightly shorter in the back and longer in the front. I am SO self conscious now. I just keep cutting all the hair she cut angles on (thankfully my curly, layered hair allows it). read more

I have a tendency of growing my hair out very long and then chopping it off. Throughout the years though I've been through so many hair stylist trying to find someone who would listen and implement what I'm trying to do...and I found it at Deeda + Coterie! Franzi Lopez just cut my hair in the BEST haircut I've ever had. It's exactly what I wanted, if not better, and she was such a sweet and awesome person while doing it. I legitimately had to come on here and post a review because I'm just so happy. The last stylist I tried to go to stood me up essentially. Franzi was on time. She listened to what I wanted and helped me cut off my hair to donate. Her products smelled amazing. I have a nervous disposition so I fretted about the haircut day. And I didn't need to be. I tried this salon out for the first time to find a place closer to me for hair cuts as I've moved to this area. The salon itself is gorgeous and functional but comfortable. I had my hair trimmed and a treatment by Marium and she was amazing. She took the time to see what I wanted and what the condition of my hair was (I had not had it cut in months and from the weather it was really dry). She understood what I wanted in terms of the trim and then took her time to wash and cut my hair. Her blowdry was also great and her scalp message was soo relaxing. Not a professional salon. This was my second visit here. I booked a 2 hour 15 minute appointment with Mariam for a cut and tint. I have medium brown hair that goes to my waist. I wanted to chop it off and make it lighter in color Marium spent 10 minutes explaining that she can't give me this color, or any lighter color, since I dyed my hair dark brown in summer of 2022 (most of it has grown out now and is virgin hair) I was told the only way to achieve this color is to bleach my hair. Then I was told that she needs at least 3 hours for this job and cannot do it today. She said all we can achieve today is a haircut and dying my hair a dark brown. (In a 2 hour 15 minute appointment) She was very dry and condescending each time I tried to ask for her opinion on what we can achieve together today. I've had a week to sit on it and I'm not happy with my hair, I went in for a full color with some face framing highlights, I've been dyeing my hair red for about a year so I knew lifting my hair was going to be tricky, but the color isn't my issue. It's the job done on the highlights. I was initially happy with my hair color and cut but I was unimpressed that I had to spend a half hour after I got home scrubbing hair dye from my neck and ears, it was so caked on I had to shower, I understand there's only so much they can do at the sinks but for over $300 I expect more finesse and care to be taken when rinsing out dye. I change up my hair part often and as soon as I parted my hair to the side I was horrified to see patchy highlights. This isn't a case of banding from the dye I was using, it's lack of care or knowledge when putting the highlights in, they're chunky and don't look blended at all, again for $380 I expect someone with expertise, it looks like I did this myself, so now I'm stuck not only having to keep my hair parted very specifically, I can't even put it up in a bun or ponytail because you can see how patchy the highlights are. If I'd known it was going to go this badly I would've just dyed it brown myself and saved myself the money and headache. I will not be returning and I do not trust them to fix the issue either as my stylist was also the owner, Marissa. Do your research on your stylist if you decide to book, I wish I had. read more

My first time in this gorgeous space was so incredible! Such a beautiful atmosphere and the hair washing area is just a dream with the beautiful skylights and landscaping. Yessss girl, yes! I love Coterie! My daughter and I go to Marium and she never lets us down. I have long thick hair that is usually a lot for some stylists but Marium knows how to cut it so that it feels lighter but still looks really full... and beautiful, if I may add ;) lol. My daughter has thick curly hair which is a different battle but Marium knows how to tame that beast, lol. All jokes aside, Coterie is a great salon with great stylists. The vibe is always positive and welcoming. They even offer you some water or tea while you wait. It's the little things that make a big difference. I always feel good when I leave Coterie. read more

Bri was amazing! I needed a cut (cute bob) because I am cold capping for chemo and I preferred to shed shorter hair than my long strands. She allowed me to bring my own shampoo and never made me feel bad. She constantly checked in and was exactly who I needed for this emotional time. She even followed up after and gave me a very helpful recommendation to deal with one of my side effects. This is a long overdue recommendation for Marium who I saw about 6 weeks ago. I was ready for a change and had Marium cut my long hair into a lob. She did an amazing job with both the cut and the color. I was a little nervous about cutting my hair off but in Marium's skillful hands, the cut brought out my natural waves and reduced the amount of time I need to style each day, which is minimal. My hair has so much more movement, body, and texture than before. She also got the color just right with a warm honey-colored balayage on my brown hair. Marium also has great energy - personable and down-to-earth. I enjoyed the 3 hours I was with her at the salon. I highly recommend her and will be a loyal client. read more
