It's a decent little honkey tonk. STEVE KRUG ROCKS. Pretzel wasn't good, but the bloomin onion was choice.

We got carry out here and we're pretty much disappointed with everything…read more My husband ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken and an order of breadsticks. The salad looked great! Chicken grilled nicely! BUT no salad dressing on it or in the carry-out bag. WTH! Greek salad dressing is not something we have on in fridge so he had to muddle through with whatever we had on hand. My mom ordered chicken picatta. Her chicken was probably over cooked as it was tough or maybe that was just the chicken breast. I don't recommend ordered this for carryout either, especially in colder weather as the sauce on it and the butter on the green beans congealed and looked rather disgusting. I ordered the chicken tender dinner. I was pleasantly surprised that the chicken tenders were homemade and not pulled out if the freezer and then cooked. Very seasoned - which I enjoyed but if you want a plan ol' chicken tender like most restaurants would have, you may not like these as there was a bit of what seemed like Italian seasoning in the batter. It came with a side salad and mashed potatoes. I did not eat either of those that night as I had eaten all five chicken tenders and a few breadsticks. The next evening I pulled the mashed potatoes out of the fridge and tasted them before I put them in the microwave to see if I wanted to add any seasoning. I honestly do not know if they were ok to eat or not. They had a strange taste to them - a slight tang that just didn't sight right on my palette, like an ingredient was sour that they used when making it. Finally, my side salad was a miss. The lettuce itself was fresh and it had about three slices of cucumber and two cherry tomatoes on it. That's it - quite simple salad. However, I wanted thousand island dressing either it and the small container of it had a 12/24 date written on the top. Did they make the dressing that day or put it in the containers that day??? Either way, that's a bad vibe given we placed our order on Jan 9th. I know the salad dressing, if bottled, would still be good, but seeing that date from over two weeks prior is off putting. Supposedly this place got a new chef recently. Maybe it's time to get another because based on what we experienced on Jan 9th, I won't be back. Sadly, we paid $72 for the lackluster food that we had.

Some of my favorites are the potato chip fish, the classic turkey dinner, and always the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies (to eat there or take home for later). While I haven't tried the igloos yet since I have an aversion to driving when it may snow, inside is always fun (while it's large, the vibe is cozy with tons of details), and outside is great in the late spring and summer for sure.

No one else seated in that area at that time. With entire floor empty, four of us were seated at the table at the back where all traffic to and from kitchen must pass. Not a problem, but by the time we had dinner with dessert, the entire area was filled with customers...subjecting us to the constant in/out business of the kitchen traffic. Clearly we were given the noisiest and worse table in a location where there was not a single occupied table. I didn't think we appeared that undesirable. The bill for our dinners with dessert came to almost $300...two of us had salmon with plum sauce, a dish we enjoyed and have had on prior visits. My complaint...1 person asked for extra plum sauce to take with her leftover salmon. She received a plastic container with approximately 3 ounces of sauce. The charge $3.00. I am not cheap, or I wouldn't be treating people to rib-eye steak or salmon that we enjoyed at a place like White Horse Inn. But...I do consider WHI to be cheap and willing to sacrifice losing a customer with that kind of service, or lack thereof. I know that you are popular, serve good food and I understand why that is true. No doubt you won't miss the four customers you have lost over the above issues.

I just got a side salad and was impressed by the quality - the lettuce was crisp and I loved the dressing. So when my husband and I were going to my mom's house to do some work while she was away, I did not hesitate to recommend Roots. I got a shrimp po'boy and he got a pulled pork sandwich. He felt the sandwich was a little dry, not much sauce but it had a lot of flavor (we got carry out so we couldn't really ask for sauce after the fact and it was the first time we had anything there other than that side salad). I did see other sandwiches saying the meat was smoked so maybe that was more like what the pork was vs a saucy pulled pork. We both really enjoyed the fries. My shrimp po'boy as very good - I am used to po'boy being on the spicy (Cajun) side and having to ask to have them reduce the heat level but this was not the least bit spicy at all as originally made. Everything about it was good and I would order it again! Btw - when I was picking up my side salad to go, I did see they have monthly specials. If I was not in a rush to get home, I would have ordered the smoked meatloaf. Hope to see that on the specials menu again.

First time going here, it had popped up in my FB feed & looked pretty cool so I wanted to check it out. Right downtown Almont. Parked in the street which was bad idea for that weekend-alot of traffic with events going on. At least there's a crosswalk though since we were parked on opposite side of street. So cool inside once we got in! Very festive! Loved it. We wanted a real Mexican restaurant to support and this seems to be it. I wish I knew the servers name, she was awesome. They have happy hour on Saturday-so thankful for that! Want them to know how much that was appreciated. We were able to order a dessert to split because that saved some $$. I don't know if any restaurant off hand that carries happy hour over into the weekend. Our server was able to help us decide on which Marquita specials to try-lots of flavors. I have to say I got a spicy Mexican one & it was my favorite! She asked if I wanted the rim done & I said yes. Holy moly! SPICY! They had some food specials also so my daughter ordered from that as she wasn't as hungry as I was. I think it was 3 pulled pork tacos(?) I got with the refried beans. It was pouring rain that day so we didn't get to sit on the patio...definitely will be going back here many times. Can't say anything bad about our experience!
