My daughter & I wanted to go here for Mother's Day weekend. We went on Saturday, day before Mother's Day. First time going here, it had popped up in my FB feed & looked pretty cool so I wanted to check it out. Right downtown Almont. Parked in the street which was bad idea for that weekend-alot of traffic with events going on. At least there's a crosswalk though since we were parked on opposite side of street. So cool inside once we got in! Very festive! Loved it. We wanted a real Mexican restaurant to support and this seems to be it. I wish I knew the servers name, she was awesome. They have happy hour on Saturday-so thankful for that! Want them to know how much that was appreciated. We were able to order a dessert to split because that saved some $$. I don't know if any restaurant off hand that carries happy hour over into the weekend. Our server was able to help us decide on which Marquita specials to try-lots of flavors. I have to say I got a spicy Mexican one & it was my favorite! She asked if I wanted the rim done & I said yes. Holy moly! SPICY! They had some food specials also so my daughter ordered from that as she wasn't as hungry as I was. I think it was 3 pulled pork tacos(?) I got with the refried beans. Very good food! My bestie recommended we go for lunch specials and some margaritas. She had tacos and I ordered the nachos Decent price for sure Now comes the mistake I made... I should've asked the price before I ordered my classic margarita with 1800. I thought 1800 tequila was a moderately priced option but my margarita was $19. Hers was $15. First time visit and the food was amazing. We normally go to a place north of here, my shrimp tacos were much more flavorful. Gotta love the special taco plates. Comes with rice and beans, but I asked for lettuce & pico instead. Service is top notch too. Fried ice cream is the real deal! read more

I went into Senor Victor's to grab lunch to go. The restaurant is decorated in a fun way. The bartender took my order and even offered me a beverage while I waited for my order. I ordered the chips & salsa and the Senor tacos (which is three tacos along with beans & rice). I chose the ground beef tacos. I wanted to try both hard and soft shell tacos; however, there are absolutely no substitutions. The chips & salsa were great! Nice thick chips to go with a thinner salsa (which I like). The tacos were pretty good. One of them was missing the cheese. And I was asked what type of sauce I wanted with the tacos, but wasn't given any sauce. Instead, I received guacamole. But I'm not a fan of it. All in all, I will go back again. The portions are generous and the food is worth it. I just need to double check my order if I get it to go. read more

Decided to try Senor Victor's tonight after having it on my lust of restaurants to try. It's a nice location in downtown Almont with updated decor and a nice bar. We ordered the chips with trio dip and elote to start. Then got tacos and fajitas for the main course. I enjoyed the diablo sauce on the tacos. Service was pleasant and prompt from the moment we walked in the door. It was nice to see this restaurant quite busy. Also, they participate in UPromise, I found out after our visit. I stopped in the other day for dinner and I had the chorizo tacos. The food was good but I prefer there to be a bit more spice with Mexican cuisine. Service The waitstaff was extremely friendly and I would give them a 5/5. Very attentive with bringing drinks, food, and clearing plates. There is a nice outdoor patio out back. The restaurant is quite nice, clean and new. The service was very good. Everyone is very friendly. The grill is right there by the bar, so you can watch them make your food if you sit down at that end. For me, the food was average. Not bad, not great. The tortilla chips were very good however, as were their homemade hot sauces. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about the staff or remodel of this place. Super! Now onto the food: For the tacos: Shrimp tacos had no spice, very bland, shrimp looked like it came right out of the bag of cooked shrimp. Chicken tacos, when you pick them up, drain water everywhere. Not much taste. The beef tacos needed some kind of cilantro cream sauce. All the taco shells were greasy. The beans were runny and could have used a sprinkle of cheese on top. We had 2 big margaritas each and 3 tacos each and the bill before tip was $96.00. For our entrees we got the taco salad with grilled chicken and the rice bowl with pulled chicken both very good dishes and large portions which were great! This is an utter travesty to call this good Mexican food let alone Mexican food at all. Everything feels as if it came from a can or a box with no care put into the meal. It's sad to say but I'd rather go to taco bell because at least for how much I'm paying I know I'll get a decent amount of food. If it wasn't that the inside was raucous beyond belief. It felt less like a Mexican restaurant and more of a club with how blisteringly loud it was. I'm thankful that I wasn't sitting in to eat. There was a "quiet" section away from all the hullabaloo but it was jarring in comparison to the lights and booming sounds. The actual service itself was far from bad in fact that was realistically the best part of the restaurant. Not the food, not the atmosphere but the service from the people there. If you want Mexican food that's worth the money then I'd recommend Jalisco Deli in Imlay City or for a bit of a drive Que Pasa Taqueria. TL:DR Do not come here, period. read more

After living in Metro Phoenix for 42 years I moved back to the area where I grew up, and low and behold, couldn't find a decent Mexican restaurant. Until now. I had delicious, perfectly seasoned grilled shrimp tacos, and my Significant Other raved about the meatless (by request) Fajita Salad. It's well worth mentioning that the sad, worn decor of the old Huddle is long gone, and the atmosphere is brighter and fresher. Don't offer steak if you're going to buy the cheapest you can find. Nobody wants to naw in grizzle!! Literally every bit. IMO the menu is small, they don't list sides, & appetizers are almost obsolete. They don't offer queso, no Guacamole is listed. The tacos YOU pay for can only be ordered one way for all 3 of them. To have a choice and mix them up, u have to order the president special & pay $10 more.. for an included Tequila shot. What if someone doesn't drink tequila or isn't old enough?? That's a rip off. I'm paying, I shouldn't be forced to pay more for something I don't want and to mix up MY tacos. Disappointed in this place. It's not worth my time or effort to go back. I took some friends and in the car, talking amongst themselves, they said it was "fine" but they wouldn't go out of their way to go back. I want to support local businesses, especially during difficult times, but experiences like this make it difficult to spend your hard earned money. We went there for Sunday lunch, stuff is amazingly friendly. The place has a nice flare to it. We had tacos pastor and chicken quesadillas. Tacos had been good and the quesadillas had been outstanding. The final bill was what we usually pay in the area, no complaints. Is there room for improvements? Just opened a few days ago. In my opinion, it's not going to last; prices too high for this community, food lacks taste. My son makes tastier pork carnitas. When asked if Dos Equis was dark or light, waitress didn't know. It was light, could taste the lime more than beer. Waitress asked if another beer was preferred- yes. In the end, still charged for the first beer. Chips and queso, $3 for handful of chips + $5 for SMALL bowl of queso cheese. The queso was the best part of the meal! $9.50 for a classic margarita which was MOSTLY ice. (Thought the margaritas were only $6.50 each, until I looked at the receipt at home.) Going back tmrw to check on this, think we were overcharged! Wet burrito; not much taste to the shredded beef, mostly rice and beans. It was okay. I was given a mild creamy sauce, asked for hot, not much different. Asked for fresh jalapenos inside wet burrito. "Everything is fresh" said the waitress. They were pickled and not as hot. Service was good, but not knowledgeable enough about drinks (beer in particular) and food. Felt as though we were being rushed out. Lingered drinking the light tasting Dos Equis, since we were charged for it anyway. Nice selection of tequilas. Then there is an additional charge if paying with credit card. Too loud and too many TVs. Really expected more authentic Mexican flavors, disappointed. May try this place again once the hype dies down. read more
