I made an appointment for Wednesday at noon for gel-x, I normally come here and everyone is nice. Although my recent visit was the worst experience ever, when it came to buffing my nails Alex was being very aggressive with my nails. He then proceeded to file under my nails and was pressing really hard I told him "ouch that hurts" I noticed my thumb was bleeding and I told him to stop. When I went to wash my hands w water the bleeding under my nail wouldn't stop. I told him hey the bleeding isn't stopping, he said the gel x glue was stuck to my thumb and he was trying to separate it w the point file they use for underneath the nail. He was so rough with the tip of the file the wound on my thumb won't close, it's been a whole day now and it feels like a fresh wound. I would have thought it would close by now but no it still hurts, I don't recommend anyone getting their nails done by Alex. read more

LET'S GET INTO IT! I had an appointment here on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2:45 pm for a pedicure. This was actually my second visit. About 5 months ago I came in and, while the polish looked nice, the overall maintenance wasn't impressive. Still, I decided to give them another chance because I wanted to try the overall experience again, this time with a matte or marble look. Unfortunately, the experience was even worse this time, and I will never return in no LIFETIME. The nail care itself was rushed and sloppy. The technician spent 5 seconds on each toe when trimming and filing. The cuticle work was awful you could still see the whiteness of old cuticles on all my toes even after she finished. The exfoliating and smoothing step was almost nonexistent, and it honestly made me wonder if she had proper training. When I politely tried to explain that the shape was not what I asked for and that my feet still looked the same as when I first sat down, instead of handling feedback professionally, the technician completely overreacted. She pretended not to understand english, then got up, slammed a towel down, stormed from the back to the front, and started venting loudly in her language. It was extremely rude, unprofessional, and made me feel very confused and uncomfortable especially since I remained calm and respectful the entire time. The only positive was the young receptionist, who was sweet enough to step in and try to help by filing and polishing for me. Even then, when I pointed out the obvious cuticle issue, she admitted she didn't know what to do. This second visit was the worst the technician's behavior was downright disrespectful. Between the lack of skill, poor attitude, and wasted money, I will never return. You want to get your money's worth, especially with prices so high these days. No one wants to waste money unnecessarily you want to leave satisfied. The service cost me $40, and I still gave the young lady at the front a tip. It's very disappointing to see older adults act so childishly unprofessional while working with the public. I paid for the service without arguing, because I didn't want to fight over it I'd rather let karma take care of her. The young lady at the front demonstrated what great customer service looks like by stepping in to fix the problem without showing any irritation, which really reflects the type of parents she has and how she was raised. I don't have a picture because, after stepping outside and seeing my feet in the sunlight, I immediately drove 10 minutes to my regular nail salon, where I knew I would leave satisfied. I know you're probably wondering why I didn't go there first simply because the two ladies I like were fully booked and I didn't want to wait, plus I thought they didn't offer marble or matte designs. When I arrived, they asked if I had just gotten my nails done today because the polish looked fresh. I didn't want to say anything at first, especially after seeing how she had handled cleaning my cuticles and calluses on the bottom of my feet. Eventually, I admitted that yes, I had gone somewhere else, and they were completely shocked. The owner and staff wanted to know where, and of course I eventually told them. Then she playfully asked, "Who did it best?" and I said, This salon, of course hands down. Everything they do, however, is exceptional. If you know the proper way your feet and nails should be cared for, you wouldn't come here. At best, I could only recommend this place for special polish designs, like marble or other creative nail art, but for real nail and foot care, this is absolutely not the place. I did look at the photos on their yelp review posts, and some of them seemed nice. It's possible that some of the technicians work shown in the pictures are probably no longer employees of D's House Nails. First time: (January 2024) they were able to take me at the last minute and I was glad. The lady who did my pedicure was a sweet lady, did a good job. The lady that did my manicure, also nice, did a nice job. Cut me a few times, but I thought "oh whatever". Today was my second time there for another gel manicure/pedi. But this time had to bring my baby, bc I didn't have a sitter. Got the same two ladies. Again, the lady that did my pedicure, sweet and pleasant as the last time. But the lady that did my manicure, she wasn't so pleasant. My baby was a bit fussy, but instead of showing empathy & patience, she pretty much rushed me out of the chair. Paint job was messed up, nail polish on my fingers, a cut, didn't put any lotion or cuticle oil or anything. So disappointing. Don't get me wrong, the place is nice overall. Took my daughter to get her nails done on September 20th for her homecoming dance. Her nails looked nice when first done. However today she noticed all her nails were lifting except for two. I had her call the salon to ask about a guarantee and let them know her nails were lifting and they said sorry we only have a one week guarantee, you're one day beyond that. My daughter doesn't have any growth near the cuticles, they still look good minus the extreme lifting. Hardly any wear and tear. Extremely Dishonest and unprofessional. I came in for Gel X nails and was very disappointed. Despite being a returning customer, this was my worst experience. First the guy that did my nails had me there for 2 hours for a simple manicure, he kept getting up to do something else. The extensions were applied too far from my cuticles, making them look 3 weeks old after just 1 week. The nails weren't glued properly, causing food to get stuck underneath, and the sides were poorly painted. To top it off, the technician cut me badly, leaving my fingers sore for days. Hi, I am writing my first review EVER because I would like to express a completely opposite view point of DHouse nails. Nee and Ricky, a team of nail technicians, are absolutely AMAZING. I actually followed Nee to this area (her first customer ever) from a Walnut Creek location to DHouse nails in Pleasant Hill. I feel just as save here as I did I Walnut Creek. The area does have some homeless (just like WC), but they are very friendly. I feel like the homeless population here would help if needed rather than be antagonistic. I have felt percent safe every time of day or night. DHouse nails is incredibly clean and friendly. Every nail technician here treats their clients like family. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. DHouse nails is always decorated for the holidays, and the technicians go out of their way to welcome all clients that enter the door. I have always been greeted with smiles. Nee provides me with an AMAZING manicure while Ricky does my pedicure (except the design in my big toe...Nee does that)! I always have green tea and water waiting for while I enjoy being treated like a queen for a couple of hours. The atmosphere is clean, inviting, and the massages are better than ANY salon I've ever been to (and I've been to many other places. I like to change my nail designs every 3 weeks with different designs on each nail as well as my big toe. The prices for the service and care are more than reasonable. The lady who did my nails was in a hurry, cut into my nails and injured my nail, had a dirty surface, didn't speak a word of English and did not moisterize my hands. But the worst part is my nails look like garbage and they had the audacity to charge me over $100. I got the price down but for just a manicure, the price was insane. This place is located in the crime-ridden Pleasant Hill Shopping Center next to Target. That should have been a red flag. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I've given this place two chances to hopefully be a place i can go to get my nails done. all of my friends go here so i thought i'd have good experiences as well. The first time i didn't feel exactly welcomed but adored my nails so i came back a second time. I was accommodating to my nail appointment being pushed back almost an hour because of staff being behind. That's not an issue in itself. The person who worked on my nails was consistently on his phone in between my nails, when i told him my nails were uneven he barely fixed them, when he put the color on my nails he was only going to put one coat of the color on my nails and when i asked for another coat so my nails could be the same color as the sample i was argued with. Days later and looking at my nails more they are all different shapes and sizes. I have been nothing but nice and accommodating to the staff both of my visits but don't think i'll be going back to this place again if i'm going to be given half effort and tried to be given one coat of nail polish while everyone else around me got 2 coats. read more

I just asked for a manicure and reg nail polish since I like to change the polish regularly. He filed my nails a little irregular, but the polish was worse. I like the pink sheer polish. He did not polish to the very tip of the nail and I asked him to correct it a few times. No hand massage, apparently does not come with a manicure if you get regular polish. Also he cut my right thumb cuticle a little too much, you can see it's red in the picture. I didn't have an appointment, so I was able to get in right away. My sister received a mani-pedi with gel mani, also a walk-in. read more
