Ok, so I take back most of the bad things I said about this store. It took about two years, but I seriously scored here during my last visit. I found a really cute pair of tan suede Tahari boots and another pair of peep toe leather boots, both on clearance. That's the most I've found in the two years that I lived near this store, so I decided to keep digging and see how far my newfound luck would take me. Long story short, I left with 5 pairs of beautiful boots, adding a pair of knee-high blue velvet, a pair of green suede, and a pair of grey suede ankle boots to my haul. There was also a crazy sale going on (I think it was an extra 25% off all boots). I also had a few gift cards with a couple of dollars left on them. All told, I spent less than $200 on 5 pairs of fabulous boots. What's really crazy is the $324 that I saved... SAVED!! Unreal! That's what I call a score. read more

I went in to get two pairs of Hiking shoes that I found at DSW website. they were discounted online. I was told that DSW can Match thier own sales prices in Store. I pickd out the shoes and showed the Store manager a screenshot of Thier Website discounted price. The Manager proceed to question if the shoes are the same ones online and also tell me that he did not believe I took the screenshot recently. At no time did he ask me to wait while he verified thier OWN website discount. I have never encountered disgusting service like this for years, and walked out. I dont think DSW select their managers with any focus on customer care. Disgusted to say the least read more

Located near I-270 and Germantown Road, this location has its own parking lot with more than enough spaces to choose from. If you can't find any spots, you can always look in front of the Bed, Bath & Beyond store next door. All the shoes are on one level - Men to the left; Women to the right. Socks are on the left (front) and Bags & Accessories are on the right (front). Clearance shoes are in the back of the store. I came in for one thing on this visit (dress shoes) and I found what I was looking for. In my search, I noticed a lot of the shoes and accessories in the store were showing the brand "Kelly & Katie" - just something I noticed. I wanted to purchase a bag and belt as well, but the selections were very limited (they are more choices in this category at the Bethesda location). I was not able to find anything of interest (bag or belt). The employees here are helpful. I think the time I was in the store I had at least 3 folks asked if I needed any assistance - at the time I did not, but it is nice to know they are there, if you ever need help from them. In the end, I found what I was looking for. It may have taken me a while to search for what I wanted, but I left a happy customer. read more

This shoe store selection of items has gone down recently compared to before. Dunno what happened, but doesn't seem as interesting compared to the past. The shoe collection for Men is pretty limited compared to Women and this particular location is much smaller than the one in Bethesda. I have gotten a few pairs, but nothing new lately from this store. Prices are reasonable for the most part and there is ample parking outside. Easy to check out when you have a couple of items that you like. read more

It's very dangerous when a DSW is only a few minutes away from your house. I find myself in here almost every other week just "browsing" but always walk out with a shoe box! When the store manager recognizes me during my biweekly visits that calls for a bad case of a shoe addiction. I love this location for the following reasons: 1. Plenty of parking space than the Bethesda location. 2. The store manager and employees are very helpful and go above and beyond for their customers. 3. Very organized 4. Not like it matters that I'm leaving this review but the management is terrible. I wish I remembered the name of the manager that worked with me earlier today but she is a larger African American woman that wears her hair in a high ponytail that needs to start treating people with more decency. It wasn't until I got on the phone with DSW and passed on the call to her that she finally took me seriously about the credit that was on my account. I also donated many shoes that day too which she said i would have to come back in the next day to use my 5 dollars off. What a dumb place. That is by far the worst experience I've had. They always think people are stealing and they don't take problems seriously. I have lost my mind to management there in the past but this was the last straw. I am never shopping at DSW every again, they don't deserve my money. read more

The staff here is amazing. I've been in a lot of DSWs and I've never been in one with such a friendly and helpful staff like at this one. I was a little disappointed with the selection though. I just wanted a simple high wedge like in nude or black and they didn't have anything like that. Usually I'm able to find things like that as dsw. I settled for a nice bootie with a thicker heel, although it won't be as comfortable as a wedge THey're still sexy and better than a stiletto for longer wear. So my suggestion is to bring my variety and selection. After reading some reviews here I'm convinced I need to check out the one in bethesda. read more

The staff is very efficient. I was looking at athletic shoes for about an hour and got asked by 3 different associates if I needed any help. They're always walking around, available to customers. I like that. I bought a pair of Nike running shoes and they were a little dirty on the bottom from the floors. They really need to remodel the store. I thought they'd give me a discount or something for that, but they didn't. I didn't make a big deal about it though. They were white bottoms, so they were gonna get dirty the moment I wore them outside anyway. I'll be back :-) read more

Didn't really see any huge sales. They have a huge clearance area in the back with summer shoes that aren't to bad. Personally I took advantage of the good music and the lounge chairs in the front of the store. read more

It seems they have an inventory control problem so large they put digital locks on the bathrooms. Seems they consider all customers potential thieves. what FANTASTIC customer service. i must've been in there for a good three hours yesterday (i hate shopping, think i filled my quota for the next seven months so i'll probably order christmas gifts online this year). i received a pair of shoes as a present and wanted to exchange them for a better fitting shoe but couldn't access a receipt. jessica at one of the front registers was so sweet and accomodating when i told her my predicament that i happily trotted off to find some boots. a few minutes later, i had amassed three bulky boxes and was plopping them down in front of a new shoe stack. francisco helpfully asks if i need a bag. didn't know they had them, so i said yup! he goes all the way to the back of the store and grabs one FOR me. unfortunately for me, that encouraged me further to fill said bag. ha. more excellent salesmanship! sauntered on over to the sale section and proceeded to try on every single shoe that tickled my fancy. must've tried on about thirty pairs. met samuel along the way who even pulled a security tag off a shoe for a few minutes so that i could try it on with the correct buckle setting (yes i wound up buying that pair too). narrowed it down to five and was given star treatment again by jessica when i walked up for checkout. she looked up three pairs of shoes that were half a size off for me and gave me feedback on one pair saying she'll hold it for me so that i can think about it. i felt like i was getting rung up by my best friend. to top it all off, toppling out of the store with my tower of boxes, i was struggling with the door of my tiny car and a sweet couple with a baby asks if i need help! i wish i could thank them again. nice people shop here! :D what a great experience! this is the only dsw i will ever shop at! read more

I writing a review about this store for this reason: I found a pair of boots I've been in search for for two years in this exact store. Maybe its because I have low expectations of customer service IN GENERAL, but I found the service here to be very helpful. Ten days before Christmas, I called in one morning to check on a shoe in my size. They had it, and were VERY nice about putting the shoes on hold for me for 24 hours. I wasn't expecting such good service during such a busy season, but I do give this store props for holding it together while madness is all around them (shoe shopping is an important part of the holidays!). I went back the next day (because let's face it - shoe shopping is addictive), when it was much busier, and I still had sales associates passing by and asking me if I needed help with anything. I've always had good experiences in this store and highly recommend it to those who've been pining after the "perfect" pair of shoes -- you just might be able to find them here! :) read more

Worse customer service. Theres a guy at the register, man I hate him. He lies dead to my face and acts like he doesn't know pure common sense. I asked for a fresh pair of shoes from the back and it was a Christmas gift, he said oh we can order from another store. Like umm didn't I just say it's for Christmas. Then someone apparently goes and checks and claims to not have anymore, after I overheard the female said they had two extra pairs. Smh. I see why some folks work retail. They were out of a lot of sizes in the shoes that I actually wanted and there were other ones from brands they carry that they did not have a specific style for. I visited today looking for a suede heel I saw on the dsw website the other day. I walked in and funny enough one of the employees was putting that exact shoe on the shelf. I asked for my color and size and she quickly pulled it off the shelf and continued working. A couple minutes later she was encouraging me to spend time wearing those shoes in the store to make sure that they were perfect. I went and searched for another shoe I saw online and found it in no time. I tried it on and couldn't believe how comfortable it was. I can't wait to revisit this location. Summary: Poor selection; poor service. I need a new pair of black dress sandals and after searching DSW's website, I found a few options that might be reasonable. Since I am uncomfortable blindly buying shoes via the internet without trying them on, I went to this store. In comparison to other DSW stores (or maybe in comparison to DSW in the past), there was a small selection of the brands I trust (Naturalizer, Aerosoles, Clarks, etc.). A large majority of the shoes they have in stock are poor quality and have no reasonable support for your foot. When I went to ask a sales associate if I had missed something, I was deferred to a second associate who helped other people behind me in line before answering my question. I had brought a list of the brand and model name for the 9-10 sandals that looked like any of them would have worked for me. The second associate looked at my list and scolded me for not writing down the UPC's for the shoes (whereas the first associate had no problem finding the shoes with the information I brought). Then she looked at the computer which had one sandal the first associate pulled up and said, "OK, so you want me to order this right now for you?" I replied that if I wanted to blindly order shoes, I could do it from home, but I was here to try on shoes to see how they fit. This associate kept trying to convince me to order a few pairs right then and there saying I could return them to the store (not so convenient for me) within 60 days. She finally gave up and said, "no, we don't have any of the shoes in stock." I would have liked this answer before I waited for her to service other people and then not listen to what I needed. The shoe selection here is less than the DSW in Rockville, but that's the ONLY thing I can find to complain about here. The people who work at this location are great. I have never in the last three years had a bad experience here. It's organized, clean and well stocked. If they are missing a size, they order it for you! I just experienced that this morning. I will continue to shop here and I recommend others do to. And, I love that they send rewards coupons! read more
