The store is clean and it is very well organized. They have a good selection of everything, shoes, bags, accessories and toys. The prices are very reasonable. The staff are very nice and helpful. I've been buying my shoes mainly from famous footwear and occasionally Bug 5. I've never gone into a DSW shoe store until today. And I will never go anywhere else. The staff was friendly and well staffed and the shoes I bought today is the exact same shoe I bought at famous footwear only there I paid $100 for the Skechers slip on at. DSW I paid $50 exact same shoe brand size and color.! DSW? Way to go!!!!! Big 5 you're still doing OK I will continue to come to you for camping and outdoor stuff! read more

I am livid. I am a business owner and have a new pup that chewed up my fav favorite Steve Madden slip-ons. I ran over to the DSW in La Quinta because it showed that they had the same slip-on in stock. I'm shopping through the store and feel like I'm being followed by staff people. After discovering a pair of cute Guess slip-ons that in the clearance aisle I continued looking in other aisles for more options. Finding another comfy pair of possible shoes, I put down the Guess shoe box to try on the other shoes, still feeling like I'm being followed. As i turned from a mirror, a DSW employee was in the aisle watching me and then looked down acting busy but it was so obvious. He then walked away whispering into his earpiece. Then i noticed another employee in an aisle in front of me and he and her exchanged looks I put the shoes back in the box, thoroughly incensed, and went to get the Guess shoes because I needed them asap, even though I really didn't want to spend a dime at this store anymore. We'll, the Guess shoes were gone because the "watchy/followey" took them. Still being watched, I tried to find them in the clearance aisle. That's when I left because this is unacceptable. What EXACTLY made your staff think I needed to be followed and treated like I was going to steal something? I had just come from a $250 lunch with a couple of . I dont think I looked like someone looking to lift your merchandise, but maybe im wrong? If so, my friends dropped the ball by not telling me at lunch. Also, none of these "doting" employees asked if i needed help so they werent sniffing around out of customer service concern. I'd rather show up at my meeting tomorrow barefoot than give this store one thin dime. I was a loyal DSW customer but now I don't think I can ever return to this establishment or spend money at a place that practices these types of unjustified procedures. read more

Haha how do I end up here ? It's so hard to find shoes for children and frankly most are hideous so I just have given up and buy them they ugly light up options with the characters they love ugh! That said this location has so many options and sizes and the ppl who work there are darling. The manager is a total boss and has that place running like a well oiled machine ordered me a pair of shoes in a snap for my daughter I was like wait u already did it?! The other associates are super helpful and hobeslty know the product which was helpful as I was alone in the store w my 4 kids and it was a little hectic. I almost didn't go here since we now have a store in San Luis Obispo. Then I remembered that they have shoes that we don't have, and will never get. I had been to this store before, and it is the newer one in the area. I have never gone in a DSW without buying something, but it is often a hunt, which even makes it better. I plowed through the Clearance racks in the back, and was pleased to discover some super cute red sandal/shoes made by Jambu, just the thing to comfortably transition from late summer into Fall. They also provided the red accent for my Mime costume for Halloween. My practical purchase was a pair of black lace up sports shoes, and I found the perfect pair by Skechers, made with Memory Foam. I am a member here, so I had coupons worth $20. off, which made the purchases even sweeter. read more

The sales associate at Register was not friendly & was not helpful towards me because I didn't have my online order number. Thank goodness another friendly sales associate came upfront, I asked her for help and she immediately helped. When I was rang up at the register by same unfriendly employee I got same treatment. The 2 times I've been here I've gotten really good deals. The first time we stopped by on a whim and there were a lot of brand name selection. I went over to the clearance area and was able to find some really nice pave formal heels. I got them for less than $50! This year decided to stop in to use my birthday coupon and a gift card. I wasn't looking for anything specific, but noticed that there were a lot of clearance shoes they were trying to get rid of. I found a couple of heels I liked but unfortunately my size was not available. I ended up buying another pair of Michael Kors flats that are normally $120 for about $50. Using my deals, I only spent $30. The staff here are really nice and helpful. They will make sure your shopping experience is worthwhile. read more

They have about 5 times more women's shoes than men's yet it looks like they have 200 men's styles in stock. Good selection of shoes. The lighting in the store is really bad. It's dim and doesn't allow you to see the color and detail of the shoes very well. I almost didn't go in because I thought the lights were off and store was closed. Aside from the lighting, everything was fine until I went to the register to pay. The employee at the counter was less than attentive. She seemed like I was bothering her by trying to buy a pair of shoes. I asked questions about my rewards acct. The answers were short and the tone wasn't friendly at all! She barely looked up from the device she was looking at and walked away a few times during my transaction. I was her only customer, no line. I don't need, or expect, any special or over the top treatment but I do expect to be greeted with a good attitude and pay attention to my transaction until it is complete. This was my first time to this location. That experience didn't make me want to go back. I realize that there is a staffing shortage and businesses are struggling to fill positions but please maintain some standards in customer service. read more

Two stars for a helpful sales person(she personally would receive 5). I left without anything as 3 kids were allowed to run freely and scream throughout the store. While trying on shoes they came within an inch of my broken foot. No one did or said anything. After the third time they went charging by - I left. I wasn't alone. We were on the quest for some rubber jobby for high heel shoes for a wedding. (Not my shoes, of course... not that there would be anything wrong with that.) They had 'em, despite a silence of a referral from their neighbors at Famous Footwear. Happily made said purchase (though it will be going back, since they were something of a bust, at least on the specific shoe they were put upon), as well as some flats that the wife was quite certain she needed, I guess because the flats she brought to wear with the per-determined outfit weren't sparkly enough, or didn't sparkle correctly in the given area code. read more

Great selection of men's shoes at very reasonable prices. I like the selection and display much better than Famous Footwear, but they are both very similar. The store layout at DSW is much more professional looking and appealing, and I don't feel as squeezed in trying a pair of shoes, as they have things a little more spread out. read more

I'm a guy, so I only went here with girls. The place is designed for women (obviously by the title). Out of 20 aisles, only 1 aisle is for men. Surprisingly, I saw 2 men shopping for shoes here even though the place was busy (probably 10-15 customers at the time). The customer service was excellent; someone came to me right away asking if I needed help with anything. There were 3 employees working at the time, which I feel was enough to satisfy the limited customers during a non-busy time during the non-touristy summer. By the way, you get a free $10 certificate for signing up with the rewards program (no purchase necessary). If I was a girl, then I would definitely come back because the store is organized very well, and the employees are attentive. Since I'm a guy, I probably wouldn't come back here because the prices online are cheaper even if the shoes are discounted in the store. Also, the store inside (as the name implies) is a warehouse like you see at Costco or Home Depot; I think these stores would appeal to more women if it looked more modern rather than an factory-looking warehouse. read more
