Shopping at Anthropologie is always an experience for me... and not always in the way I expect. I walk in and immediately love everything. The lighting, the displays, the textures, the way the clothes are styled... it all feels intentional and beautifully curated. It pulls you in. You want to be the woman who lives in this store. And then I try things on. This is where my "problem" begins. Anthropologie, along with its sister brands Free People and Urban Outfitters, designs for a feeling more than a body. The pieces are soft, flowing, relaxed, and often oversized. They look incredible on the hanger and even better in photos. But on me, it's a different story. Many of the pieces lack structure. They don't define the body, they don't shape you, and sometimes you're left feeling like you're wearing the idea of an outfit rather than something that actually works in real life. It's not that the clothes aren't beautiful... they are. They just don't always translate in a way that feels polished or intentional once they're on. And that's where the frustration comes in. Because every once in a while, I do find something that works... and when it does, it really works. But getting there takes effort. So why do I keep coming back? Honestly... not always to shop. Horrible customer service. I came to buy a pair of jeans, and grabbed some mascara for my daughter. The lady at the register was so rude and grouchy. Gray hair lady tall- didn't catch her name. I probably won't ever come back to this location. There's other locations I like better, but this center is very cute. read more

I've alway love this store. Fun meets bohemian California chic. A cool shop with pretty much a bit of everything. Of course they're known for their fun low back style with cute pieces. Not only that, they have a fun house section with cool and fun dish ware, candles, gifts and so on. Loads of fun gift items for everyone. Everytime I browse the store, I do notice that the prices have been creeping up more and more each time. Gone are the days when you could just walk in and spend a good 100.00 on a few items. Now it's a miracle if you could walk out without spending 300.00 or so on an outfit. Don't get me wrong, they have some fun and beautiful pieces but even basic pieces are a little steep. I love this Anthropologie for the housewares (dinnerware, glassware, candles) which are not too cutesy, look elegant and are at a very reasonable price point. The displays are aesthetically beautiful and I love the relaxed cool vibe. The clothes are not my thing - the colors are the kind of edgy I don't really go for, but the space is beautiful. I love this Anthropologie located on El Paseo in Palm Desert. It's definitely a great Anthropologie as they are always well stocked here, I can find new items online in store with ease, and the layout is easy to navigate. I came here for a little mid day shopping as I had in mind some clothes that I wanted to try on a candles to smell, a true girls day, am I right? As I mentioned above, this store is always well stocked and happy they don't run out of the larger sizes which I need. The store is clean and they have everything laid out really clearly. Their clearance back room is a little tight but I feel like that's how they are at most anthros so not holding that against them. Their dressing rooms are large and there is always a changing attendant staff which is helpful. Staff here are nice and personable. Definitely always have a nice shopping experience here that I wanted to come back to report out. read more

The manager's attitude was honestly embarrassing. I've never seen someone in customer service act so bothered by customers trying to shop. Mind you that's their job.The entire vibe was hostile and unprofessional. If management treats people this badly, it's no surprise the experience here was awful. I went into Anthropology this warm Sunday morning trying to shop for my daughter who just graduated college with a business degree at 22yrs.old. I'm trying to help her find a capsule business wardrobe bc all she came home with are ripped Levi's and some beat up Dr. Marts....my daughter doesn't enjoy clothes shopping so I'm bringing clothes home for her to try from various stores. Been striking out however, I was able to start her off with quite a few pieces from Anthropology for her new job in a Real Estate office. Employees are always friendly and polite. The store is organized and just gives good vibes. Love their clothes, accessories and other miscellaneous items- cups, candles, etc. Dresses can run over $160, but sometimes they have great sales. Went in and tried to purchase $500 plus in clothing and their Apple Pay didn't work. It just worked at 3 other stores. She ( the store manager) said can you find a different way to pay. No. My cards are hooked up to my phone? Can you punch in the number, security code, my zip code. Nope, I'll get fired. Now while I wouldn't want her get fired for something her company can't do bc of potential fraud, I am wondering what actions her company may do bc she hasn't worked with her I.T. So my wife and I spend 30 minutes at the Palm Desert store selecting items (7 tops and dresses, home accessories) and proceed to dressing room. We get there and a clerk tells us that the dressing rooms are closed. We remind her that the store doesn't close for 45 minutes and she tells us that those are "Covid rules." That they have to close the dressing rooms an hour before the store closes in order to sanitize each dressing room. Keep in mind there are no signs anywhere in the store until you get to the dressing room door that this is one of their self-imposed rules. In fact it's not a government mandated at all; it's a decision Anthropolgie has made to inconvenience and piss off their customers. It worked. We are longtime customers who won't be back. Clean the changing rooms after you close or before you open, not when customers still have 45 minutes to shop. read more

Sadly I have had two shopping experiences here and both disastrous. First time they didn't load my 100 gift card purchase. Took months and a dozen phone calls to resolve. Second time (a couple weeks ago) tried to exchange an item (from different location) for a bigger size, was told out of stock and so placed online order for me. Item never came. Called to check and turns out they just charged me as an in store purchase (and I left empty handed). Didn't actually place the order online - no record of it in my Anthro account or elsewhere. Now I have to fight for my money back, my word against theirs. Please guys TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES BETTER (and shoppers be aware in case this is fraudulent behavior not just human error)! So sad! One absolutely huge store with a huge variety of womens wear. I too had fun shopping here because they had unique items in every corner of the store.i mean they had a huge variety of mugs. And there were interesting books from browsing. There was a variety o coffee mugs to choose from. There were even silverware among the items for sale. And don't forget to check the back room. Today they had a Black Friday sale so everything in the store was 30 percent off including the sale section. I bought 4 wooden monogrammed coat hooks, 2 small jasmine gardenia smelling candles (rose gold with marble top), a jewelry plate and a journal for $100. I had great customer service. One lady was even concerned that I didn't have a basket for all the things I was carrying. Waiting in line was a bit long but the cashier girl apologized a few times. I do could give NO STARS I would! I called yesterday to see what stores hours were... I was told they closed at 6pm. I drive out since this location has the item I was looking for. I arrived at 5:30pm since I was coming from work. As soon as I walked into the store a sales associate/ or closing manager saw me and said " we close at 6 and the fitting rooms closed at 5:30! The stores do not carry large sizes. The company, as a whole- owned by Urban Outfitters - are a complete nightmare. I have been a complete überfan for over half my life of Anthropologie and a very loyal customer. Yet, since the stores do not carry my sizes, I must shop online. The mother company (Urban Outfitters) has been torturing me all of 2021, since January to pay over $250 for a package of merchandise that was never delivered. They will not accept documentation that THEY made me obtain- a police report for 'stolen' merchandise, and a claim filed with UPS (the shipping company of their choosing). The police say Anthropologie is responsible for replacing the merchandise or reimbursing the funds. They will not. They will not accept a copy of the police report. They will not accept the confirmation from UPS that the package was not delivered. This has been going on FOR TWELVE MONTHS! Smells fishy? Not only smells fishy. It looks like fish, it feels like fish, and it tastes like fish. It's fish. I have personally cancelled Anthropologie and all of its affiliate companies (Free People, Terrain, BHLDN, Urban Outfitters), not only because of how absolutely rude and stubborn the dispute resolution representatives have been but because of their pathetic ignorance in business model. If this is how they treat their loyal customers, I fully look forward to the huge bonfire I'll be having burning every Anthropologie item I own, including furniture, and spreading the word of their evil ignorance. Anthropologie is a cute, high-end place and family and I visited here on Black Friday when many items were marked down 50%. That's a good deal because I can't see myself paying $198 for a sweater for my wife, and that's par for the course here. I did find some items in my price range -- $8 each for some USA-made glass coasters, fancy drawer pulls, or a bar of soap. And I don't know how people can stick some crushed soda cans on the wall and make it look cute. I tried stuff like that and it just looks like trash stuck on the wall. I just don't have the decorator's touch, I guess. But, it's fun just to look at all the nice things they have in the store, whether or not you actually buy anything. You can buy the French version of Dr. Seuss' "Green Eggs and Ham" for only $12.95. "Sam, c'est-moi!" But that doesn't rhyme. read more

I love anthropologie, especially when I get my annual birthday discount and when it's black friday! Yesterday, I visited El Paseo for a little black friday shopping and everything at Anthro was 20% off. I found a sweater that I loved but they didn't have it in my size so the sales person ordered it online for me and had it shipped to my house for free. Even though it was black friday, this location still had a large quantity of sizes and styles available, so I was very pleased when I went there towards the end of the day. Whenever we come to our desert house we always venture to El Paseo for lunch at either Fixx or Pacifica and for some shopping. I always stop in at this Anthropologie and always find something.
