The customer service is good. They do mot waste your time and the sales are great as always.

I found these really nice boots online and tried the "pick up in store option" since I needed the boots for an event tonight. Paramus being super close to me was obviously the viable option. I placed my order at 9am and it said I would be able to pick it up. I checked for both my size and a 1/2 size smaller and it said they had them in Paramus and I would be emailed withing 4 hours to come pick them up. at 3PM 6 hours later I get an email that my order has been cancelled. I called the store immediately and ask for the smaller size and the woman on the phone was soooooo rude! She said "if its cancelled that means we don't have it". I explained that I was willing to purchase the size smaller which was also listed as available for pick up, she refused to check if they had it and said believe me we only have a 7. I then hear her have a conversation with someone in the store while I'm still on the phone ! Again with an attitude! I went to the DSW spoke to a rep via chat and explained what happened, the rep was useless and said I had to complain within the store. Obviously working in retail is difficult but I was more than polite and asked her to check what sizes they did have, she refused and said " I know". Needless to say I didn't repurchase online , if I'm about to drop 120 bucks on boots I'm expecting mediocre customer service at least. read more

Back when I worked in a formal dress environment I came here for shoes. Im not a shoe fanatic. I actually don't care much as long as they are comfortable. Back then, they were not always comfortable, but at least they were not too expensive. Over the years this store only got better. But its good to go often as there are a lot of shoppers around here and they get the "good deals" fast. read more

This is by far the largest shoe store I have ever seen! They have a great selection of discounted name brand shoes. The entrance can be a little difficult off 17, and traffic in that area is horrendous but, trust me, it is worth it! There are two floors. The bottom floor consists of women's shoes and a small area of handbags/accessories. Men's shoes are upstairs. Upstairs is also the women's clearance section so make sure you go up there and check it out! The shoes in clearance are organized by size, I think people sometimes hide shoes in the wrong size so no one else will buy them so make sure you take the time to look in other sized sections. There are plenty of staff roaming around and happy to assist if needed. Great place to look and find some good deals! I love shoes! read more

This is really the only place I go for shoes. The place is huge so you have endless choices, from orthadpedic to ridiculously uncomfortable, and for reasonable prices. I very rarely go home empty handed. read more

Been coming here for years, they tend to have a really wide variety that caters to all tastes & styles. Prices are reasonable, not extraordinarily inexpensive but discounted nonetheless. And at times you can get really great deals in the clearance section. Like any discount store, the selection is a hit or miss (for what you may be looking for). I have walked out with 5-6 pairs and at times with none. My experience with the staff has always been fine. They have been helpful & friendly. So I did the pickup in store and I received an email Monday that my shoes were ready for pickup. I arrive on THURSDAY to pickup and a girl by the name of De Shunta, was super rude. She didn't greet anyone before me or myself. She claims she couldn't find my order and had a very bad attitude. She told me to "move to the right" so she could help someone else. She then called over a girl by the name of Carolina, who was actually helpful, had a great attitude and found my shoes. I will be calling customer service to inform them of Carolina and her great people skills, but also about De Shunta and her attitude! While I was waiting for Carolina to find my shoes, I observed De Shunta give an attitude to each and every customer she rang up. She rang up a lady who had a coupon and would answer the customer's questions with "call customer service. I don't know." Several times. She eventually asked Carolina if she could use the coupon, but the lady came back and said she didn't actually apply the coupon after all! Came into the store to make an online exchange because the shoes unfortunately did not fit correctly. They ended up not having the size I needed in store. I understood this and waiting in an 30 min line to return and place a new order for the correct shoes. The cashier then refunded my paypal account for around 150. Then when she had placed the order she made me pay out of pocket. At this point I became frustrated because I just wanted to do a clean return. These are the shoes and exchange them for the same pair. No charge difference. Now I have to wait 3-5 business days for the 150 to credit to my paypal account. After it is in the account I need to wait another 3 days for it to be credited to my debt account. I asked to speak with the manager to see what she could do for me. She gave me a run around about how it went to the paypal account and after she submits it she can not take it back. So I straight out said "what can you do for me" she said nothing. This was such an inconvenience she couldn't have given me a coupon or a 10 dollar reward? Like really? Now I'm out of 150 for a whole week and have no shoes. read more

I went on Saturday to buy my boots wore them an hour and already had the zipper broken. Went to the store to return the item in hopes to get back my $20.00 coupon and credit. After an order that said would be in store in 4 hours got there 6 hours later, shoes not available. Was told by the Manager Eric that it's only common sense to check you email before you come in. my first reaction was to say just cancel my order, but I then thought no I will do it on my own. Just had the most silly and biggest waste of time shopping at DSW. I signed up for their VIP program and was offered a $10 off a purchase off $29 or more. When I was trying to have them honor my purchase of $69.99 Nikes they could do nothing for me. Turns out this loyalty program is just smoke and mirrors. To compare I was at staples recently and saw they advertised a product online for cheaper. Guess what? They gave me the online price. No questions asked. DSW was unable to offer the $10 I was entitled to. Basically they are so archaic that they can't accommodate in person transactions and clearly this is nothing more then a marketing a ploy to drive online sales. But in the end should I be surprised. Sadly they lost me as a customer as result of this. My time spent with their customer service and even writing this review is worth more in time then a measly $10.00. My advice unsubscribe from their email list as it's bogus. read more

I must confess, I am a DSW addict. This store has rows upon rows of shoes. I like that there are so many different styles to choose from, and you can spend as much time as you want wandering the aisles and trying on shoes. No waiting for the salesperson to return from the back only to tell you that they don't have your size. DSW makes my shoe shopping experience much more efficient. Even though my size is sometimes hard to find in some stores (9-1/2), I always manage to find five pairs I love in DSW & then have to cut it down to a reasonable number. I've spent more time than I'd like to admit doing the slow shoe prowl down the aisles, head swiveling side to side hoping to spot a good deal or a cheap thrill. They don't carry the finest of brands but if you want something functional or trendy you won't wear a lot it's the spot. My female genetic disposition won't let me say anything bad about a discount shoe store! Regardless of what I come in for, I usually wind up walking out with an great pair of heels for 20-30 bucks. They have an amazing selection of boots, moccasins and heels, and 3/4th of the top floor is *racks on racks on racks* of clearance shoes! if you spend long enough in here (or rather, you have enough patience to look through the rows of hundreds of pairs of shoes) you're bound to discover some deals ranging from decent to great. read more

Great shoes and I love the clearance rack. I stop in almost weekly to see what I can find. I often spot a deal on something I can use and pick it up. This store in NJ has a better selection than the one near me in Glendale Arizona. But I enjoy both stores. read more

This review is based on my online purchase only. That being said, I ordered two pairs of shoes and qualified for free shipping. That's great if you don't mind waiting a full seven days for your order. My experience goes like this...I buy shoes, one pair is defective. I call customer service and they tell me they would be happy to send out a new pair. Call FedEx and schedule a pick up. It takes FedEx 3 days to pick up package. It takes 7-10 business days (because items are shipped ground) before DSW is to receive your return. It takes 2 Business Days for DSW to process your return/exchange. Then since the order was defective, the new pair must be physically checked because they don't want to send out the same shoes. Once complete... They will only next day FedEx because I complained about waiting an additional 7 business days to wait for the next pair. I can't believe this is their standard policy. So, I'm still waiting for shoes I ordered last month. Of course by the time they arrive, they will be out of season. read more

This store is huge so it has a lot a different styles of shoes from dressy to casual and everything in between. Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. The one downside is that if you have small feet like me (size 5 to 5.5) you really have to hunt as most styles are not offered in those sizes :( I like that I don't have to wait for a salesperson. Just left here and purchased 2 pairs of shoes. A pair of uggs and a pair of silver heels. We had a coupon, unfortunately we couldn't use it which was fine, I understand that. The person who rang us up, her name was Kaitlyn, was extremely rude and very mean as she was exclaiming how "you can't use the coupon on uggs anyway." Maybe she had a bad day, but how she was speaking to myself and my mother after we purchased two pairs of shoes, was disgusting. A very nice woman, Shavonne I believe her name was, also worked at the register, explained the coupon to us in a nice, professional manner and actually took the time to talk to us. I also got a hold of the manager on the way out and said "kaitlyn has a bad attitude and shavonne was great and helpful." Little did the manager know that my mother saw everything that happened after we left. The manager proceeded to laugh at me after I left and Kaitlyn proceeded to laugh and continue to make her rude comments. This is my first time writing a yelp review and from the looks of the other reviews about this store, I can see why people stop shopping here. My mother proceeded to get the customer service and corporate number as well because we will be calling. I suggest you shop at kohl's for shoes, especially with there coupons and the service is better, and people are much nicer. I also tried to give kaitlyn the benefit of the doubt and my mother asked her if she was having a bad day, because sometimes that happens, but no, she was extremely rude and it's unfortunate because they have really nice shoes. I go to NJ a lot to shop because there is no tax on clothing despite the fact that is far from my house. After going to the Paramus Mall I decided to go in here to look at some shoes. I took us FOREVER to figure out how to get there but after asking some people we manged to get there. At first when I went in there I was not only over whelmed size of the store and by the amount of shoes they carried but also the amount of OUT OF SEASON shoes they carried. It is the middle of the summer and all I saw was long knee-high leather boots that shouldn't be out yet. The store also had a very cheap factory chemical smell to it to. But despite these facts I picked out a pair of Steve madden heels to try on and they fit quite well and the price was only $49.99 so I said "why not" and decided to buy them. When I got to the register there was a line ahead of me with only about two people ahead of me. I thought to myself it was only two people how long could it possible take?? So I waited there for 30 MINS yes, its true!! If I knew it would take so long I would have looked around some more but I waited there in line, holding my shoe box. There was only ONE cashier at the register helping people but there was about 3 or 4 other in the back of the register that was not doing anything at all. This is NOT even the worst part though. Finally after waiting there I was my turn to pay so I went up to a the girl and she told me to stop because she wasn't going to help me so I had to go to the next girl on her right and so I did. I was pissed but I didn't say anything. Than this next girl rings me up while still taking to her friend next to her about her personal stuff and since she is too busy with that she decides it would be NOT GIVE ME my credit card back!! I stood there and looked at her and she asked me whats wrong?!!!!!!! I told her that she forgot to give me my credit card back and she makes a wow I'm so sorry and shocked at the same time face and hands me my card. Like seriously!! My wife and I joined their DSW Rewards Program. Essentially, you give them personal information and let them track your purchases in exchange for discounts up the line. What they don't make clear is that if you order a pair of shoes using their "rewards certificate" and you return them, you don't get the points you earned back. This is even if the shoes are defective. This, of course means that they are motivated to sell shoes that might otherwise be unsellable to those using rewards certificates. At least, that's what happened to us. When I called to cancel my "membership", they didn't even ask me why I was canceling; they must be used to it. I no longer trust this store. read more

I went to this location back a few months ago. I had shopped there on and off for a good amount of years. On this particular occasion I was assisted by a "store manager". Oferia, truly one of the most unpleasant "sales people" I have ever dealt with. Not only was this woman extremely condescending , she was also exceptionally RUDE. The most uncomfortable situation was this manager was acting like this in front of her staff. Since that day, I avoid the Paramus location. Just a recommendation to the DSW corporation maybe your "store managers" should be better trained in appropriate "Customer Service" behavior! read more
