Very poor customer service here. The female manager here (with glasses) has a poor attitude and makes you feel bad for asking a simple question in one of the aisles. She should be working in the back stock room of she does not want to interact with customers. Shopping here reminded me why shopping online at other retailers is a better use of my time. Review for DSW - Scottsdale Fiesta I had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered at any retail store and it was made exponentially worse by the dismissive and arrogant behavior of the assistant manager, Phillip. I came in to buy a specific pair of shoes for my son's graduation ceremony the next morning -- a milestone event that, like any parent, I wanted to feel prepared for. The only pair available in the style I needed turned out to be mismatched -- one size 8.5 and one size 9. Clearly, a previous customer had unknowingly purchased the mismatched pair, and the remaining mismatched box had been left on the shelf. This was not my mistake -- this was a store-level error that left me scrambling for a solution with limited time. When I asked Phillip if I could purchase the mismatched pair due to the urgent nature of the situation, his response was cold and robotic: "We don't sell mismatched shoes." No apology. No problem-solving. No compassion. Just a flat refusal, as if I were being unreasonable for even asking. I explained that I had no other options -- I needed shoes today -- and this was the result of an inventory oversight. His only offer was to "call other stores," with the closest being over 30 minutes away. At this point, it was already after 4 p.m., and I had other commitments to prepare for. Again, no apology, no acknowledgment of how upsetting this situation was, and certainly no concern for the impact it had on me or my son's big day. Eventually, I had to settle for a shoe a full size too big just to leave the store with something. I asked if he could offer any sort of discount for the obvious inconvenience and stress this caused, and he said -- and I quote -- "This wasn't an inconvenience because you're still buying shoes." That response was so shockingly insensitive that I had to ask if he was serious. His demeanor throughout the interaction was smug, dismissive, and completely lacking in customer service skill or basic human decency. When I pointed out how poorly this had been handled, he doubled down and actually told me he was doing me a favor by calling other stores -- as if I should be grateful he performed the bare minimum of his job responsibilities. Let me be very clear: Phillip has no business working in customer service. He was not only unhelpful, he was actively rude, condescending, and emotionally disconnected from the reality of how he was treating someone clearly under stress trying to solve a time-sensitive issue. His coldness cast a shadow over what should have been a joyful and exciting day preparing for my son's graduation. And it was made worse by the fact that even the cashier at checkout quietly apologized to me, noting that when she was a store manager, she would have handled the situation with more care and flexibility. DSW should be ashamed to have someone like this representing their brand. I will not be returning to this location, and I will be contacting the store manager, Murphy, directly when she returns from vacation to make sure this situation is addressed. If DSW truly cares about customer loyalty and brand reputation, they'll seriously reconsider who they place in leadership roles. read more

If you call the store to check availability for "same-day pickup," the employees are so friendly and go out of their way to look for them, or have them sent from another store with free shipping to your home. today was one of the most horrific manager customer service at the scottsdale hayden store, the manager would not try to listen or help me. matter of fact when i asked him to meet me he went into the back office. i was on the phone with a customer service for approximately 45 min. i asked for a written receipt. from the manager for the returned unopened pair of shoes. when i asked for a handwritten receipt to ensure i received my full refund, he would not do it. now in my mail, they are trying to say the amount is less than what i paid. i have a copy of the charge and am disputing the charge paid. shopper beware i will never buy a pair of shoes at dsw. no customer service exists. read more

This is usually my first choice if I am looking for a new pair of shoes. But I went in on Friday, and really was baffled by the lack of customer service. First off...the store was dead. Very few patrons were there. So I figured that I could be in and out in a few minutes. I grabbed the shoes that I wanted and headed to the register. There was nobody in line, and just one patron checking out at a register where two sales associates stood. I trust that each of these associates were responsible for 2 separate cash drawers since it was nearing lunch time. Nonetheless, they both stood together with the one customer trying to make a purchase. So I stood there and got no notice at all. All the while, the customer was emptying her entire purse on the counter...seemingly looking for another gift card that wasn't there. I overheard that she had already used $40 but apparently she thought that she still had another gift card. Good for her! If she's got credits, use them! But still...no acknowledgement. Not even a smile. This goes on for about 5 minutes and now every single thing from her giant purse is on the counter, and I am starting to figure out that she doesn't have another gift card...she is just trying to get the associate to feel badly for her and give her $10. In the meantime, both of the cashiers are all enrolled in this crisis that the lady is having at looking for this missing gift card. Both cashiers are really going overboard to make sure that this lady feels like they really care. But as it got to the ten minute mark, and neither of the ladies stopped to check me out on the register that wasn't embroiled in this giant problem of the missing gift card, I realized they don't deserve my sale. I felt that the sky could be falling...but to these two cashiers, nothing took precedence over this lady and her supposedly missing card. At the ten minute mark, I was done. I went up to the counter, set the shoes down and started walking out. Still, I bet you'll never guess what they said to me as I was leaving. Realize, they surely knew that the only other customer in store had been waiting patiently for this eternity. I was right in front of them afterall. this location does not have a really good selection of shoes. I am a big fan of shoes and I really like buying a lot of name brand shoes. I love purchasing Nikes and off whites and Adidas as well. I understand this is not the type of store to buy many of those items but I just wish they had a bigger selection and they had stuff that all people from all walks of life would be able to enjoy the one good thing is they do have a candy section right by the checkout and they have a really good deal on skittles. Found a nice pair of Brooks sneakers in the clearance section. Regular price $85. I was so happy to see the price tag was green and according to the sign directly above where I found them the green tag means 50% off. Yay! What a bargain...that is until I went to pay and guess what - green tag was ringing up at only 20% off. WHAT! How can you have a sign that says 50% off and then tell you "Oh sorry it's only 20% off this week". Take a look at the picture here. How is that not clearly 50% off. Unfortunately I didn't think to take a picture of the price tag. It was clearly green. Nobody was disputing that. "That sign didn't get changed, like all the other ones did." On 11/16/2023 store manager named Murphy charged my debit card twice for a sale. The first time she said the computer froze and I had to swipe again. I showed her on my bank account that the transaction had gone through but she insisted it would fall off because the status was pending. Murphy refused to let me leave with the shoes until I paid for it a second time. Surely the next business day I had not one but two charges on my account for the same amount. Both charges finalized and billed my account. I went back to the store on 11-19-2023 but Murphy was off and I spoke with Anthony, he was not able to help me,. He only offered for ME to stay on the phone with customer service for over 20 minutes. I could not stay on hold any longer so I retuned the shoes I purchased and got a credit for the purchase but I never got the credit for the extra charge. This is Theft! I am out of $53.68 I am going to post this online and alert all my friends and family NOT to shop at that location. I would give zero star if I could. read more

Naturally, they have selections for both men and women. Within each gender, there are casual shoes, workout shoes, and dress shoes. There are rows and rows of different shoes, representing many of today's most popular brands, all at a reasonable price...typically, far below retail prices. If, by chance, you don't find something in the regular shoe sections that match your style or price range, fear not. One of the most inviting sections in the entire store is the clearance section. Within the clearance section, they have discounts ranging from moderate to HOLY COW! For example, I saw a pair of Florsheim shoes that were an astounding 80% off! I mean, the shoes were still selling for almost $100 after the discount, but still...that's one heck of a deal. Naturally, not EVERY shoe is priced that well. But, ranging between 30-80% off, there's bound to be something there to keep your feet in the nicest styles. Now, I know not everybody was a huge fan of math, so figuring out percentages off can sometimes be imposing. DSW has an answer for that, too. There's a giant chart that lists the typical prices of their shoes, and their corresponding prices at the varying percentages off. On top of selling shoes at great prices, they also offer many accessories. They have designer handbags and purses, as well as hats and socks. We've been to this location several times. Each time we go, we've been approached by the staff and asked if we needed assistance. Nothing earth shattering, but still quite engaged. That's the bare minimum that you would expect when receiving customer service these days. DSW's employees have yet to disappoint. Merchant sent Shoe in the wrong color. I initially plan to return it through FedEx, however, there was a huge line, so I decided to take it to the DSW. store. They said that they were unable to process the return as they could not recall how to cancel the return I had initiated They made a phone call to customer Service, and I was told to leave the shoes there, and they would initiate a return. Customer service said that a refund would be processed in 3-5 business days When I asked that they immediately send an email, confirming this conversation, they said that it would take at least 24 hours for someone to get back to me. Store manager, Joe, refused to issue any paperwork documenting that I had returned the shoes to them. When I tried to take a picture of him with the shoes that I was leaving at the store, he told me that it was against the law for me to take a photo This is very poor customer service.! read more

I ain't gonna lie; DSW is really hit and miss for me. I've been here a few times now and only about half the times have I found what I'm looking for. Sometimes I can't even find a splurge pair of shoes! The prices are decent, but the clearance items can be a great deal. Recently I got $180 books for $50 - a great deal. I even brought my husband once and he found a nice pair of dress shoes for $20. I like how the store is laid out. Everything is easy to find - even the clearance racks. (Other stores can have such chaotic clearance racks!) The cashier has always been helpful, but I never see employees wandering around helping customers. Not that I mind really, but I can see how other people might be discouraged. Overall, if I need something, I'll come here but no guarantees I'll find it. That's just how DSW rolls. read more

This is the best DSW location I have been to, and I've been to a few. The store is laid out very nice and organized and spacious. Even the sales in back have more room than other locations, which is nice as those usually get the most crowded. The shoe selection is good, I would venture a guess and say this location has a bit more in options but I can't be sure, it may just be the layout. I would suggest finding another place to buy shoes. They advertise great prices on Facebook but you can't finish your sale!! When you call customer service they keep you on for an hour and ask you questions about the merchandise you're buying on their site.
