I've got the bibimbap bowl once with noodles once with egg fried rice. Preferred the noodles. Rice was very plain. Add the sauces for more flavor. They don't include a lot of meat in this one but I select it because it has more toppings. Mostly pickled toppings so stay away if you don't that that. The other bowls (e.g., galbi bowl) seemingly just come with rice and meat and add ons are pricy. This is a quick service counter restaurant located within the Fig at 7 food court on the bottom level. The menu is simple. Choose a protein and rice, noodles, etc., sauce, and optional add ons. I ordered the bulgogi with udon noodles and it came with a decent portion of meat and noodles with a bit of vegetables. The meat and noodles were packed separately but in the same container which was pretty neat. I felt the noodles were oily so the overall meal was a bit heavy. I visited during lunch and received my order quickly. I was annoyed at the ordering process because I stood inside the stanchion area where the sign says form line here but the cashier chose to receive orders from people who started forming the line outside the stanchion after I was waiting in line. The cashier saw me waiting there but she didn't acknowledge or call me to take my order so I asked her where the line was. To my surprise she said the line was outside the stanchion area. As a big fan of Parks BBQ I had high hopes for their fast food shop Oleego. I have to say that I was not disappointed. I love their containers which separates the protein (Galbi, Bulgogi, Salmon, Spicy Pork bulgogi, Chicken bulgogi, Shrimp, Tofu, Bibimbap) from the base ( White Rice, Brown Rice, Egg Fried Rice, Kimchi Fried Rice, Noodles, Mixed Greens) allowing you to mix as desired. I ordered the Bulgogi and noodles for $9. The beef was authentic and delicious. The noodles were ok, more like an udon noodle then I was expecting plus they were a little sticky but other than that it was a great quick lunch. I also opted for a side of white rice (always have to have rice with Korean BBQ) and one banchan (japchae). The Japchae was fine, flavorful, well-cooked - the perfect addition to my meal. I never thought Korean fast food could taste this good and authentic until I tried this place! I got Spicy Pork Bulgogi Bowl with Kimchi Fried Rice, and it was amazingly delicious!!! I guess it'd be expected for an area like LA where there's a huge Korean population, but nevertheless it still blew my mind. The spicy pork was absolutely savory with hints of sweetness and spiciness. The meat was extremely tender as they used pork belly. They were generous with the sauce too. The kimchi fried rice was yummy just by itself; I could smell the sesame oil they used to cook it. Even more amazing was the fact that their container separated the side/rice from the protein, so the flavors didn't bleed into one another. At $8.50 this meal was a total steal. Honestly one of the best places for salmon. They make it perfect every time! Juicy and not dry at all! We also get the spicy pork and man it's amazing! The cashier is so nice! Mine was pretty decent and the flavors were definitely there, but I don't see myself craving this on a day-to-day basis. The kimchi fried rice was slightly too sweet for my liking. Pretty good food but takes deceptively longer than expected. By design, Oleego looks kind of like a Chipotle or poke style spot where you point out what you want and it gets piled on. Instead, expect to wait a few minutes as the protein is made to order. Also unlike those places, this is simply a base + protein spot. Banchan can be ordered but that comes on the side, as do the sauces. If the full menu was available, they would get five stars. Unfortunately, there's no salad base option, the spicy cucumbers (oi muchim), and japchae are not available. Flavorwise, there's nothing to complain about. There are a series of bases with some more flavored than others (e.g. sauced up udon-like noodles, two kinds of fried rice). The sauces include doenjang which is pretty typical and their Oleego soy sauce which is sweeter, making it more appropriate than pure soy sauce as a dip/pouring sauce for this food. The meat is good, cut in perfectly bite-sized pieces, and is nicely marinated. Unfortunately, when I inquired about the missing items, the worker indicated they did not know when/if they will return. This is slightly frustrating since there's no good lower carb option and while banchan aren't really defined on any online ordering methods, the salad base is still available--not sure what they would do if you ordered the greens. read more

I was skeptical about this place at first, but after hearing colleagues compliment this place and the long waiting line, I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the spicy pork with noodles, and checking in they also give you one free banchan (side dish). I got the japchae. I was taken back by how quickly I got full after only eating half the dish, but it was pretty delicious. The spicy pork mixed very well with the noodles, and the noodles were smooth and not-sticky. My only complaint was they forgot to give me the sauce on the side, even after I asked if it was in there. Since the spicy pork had enough sauce, it wasn't a huge loss for me. Additionally, my meal was less than $10 and I got to eat half of it for dinner so it still felt like a win-win situation. Finally open! After 8 long months of Garcetti-induced lockdown, Oleego is now serving delicious Korean inspired dishes. Why this place was closed for so long is beyond me. Especially with that spacious courtyard outside... There's plenty of al fresco dining available. I came in for the bulgogi beef with greens, but they are aren't serving greens. It's an professional food court by location and food choices. Anyways, this place caught my eye because they had several healthy food options that included salmon, veggies and the choice of brown rice. I opted for the bi bim bop with beef and noodles. All the other sauces and etc are all on the side so you can dip or pour at your own choosing. The place is wickedly fast. I ordered and right away my food was ready. The packaging is interesting. First layer is meat and veggies and the bottom layer is the carb. The beef was already well seasoned with enough salt to taste but I added in some sauces. The mall is located in the heart of DTLA, so expect random homeless people out and about however the mall security are pretty on top of escorting them off the premises.
