Had to wait a couple weeks before reviewing…read more I had recently replaced my clutch and rear main seal on my 02 SVT Focus. My seal was still leaking and I did not have the time or energy to do the job myself again. I called Marc up and he got me in right away. He was very upfront with the cost on my initial call and didn't require a diagnostic fee like some other places had required. I took my car in after hours and dropped my key off in their drop off hole. There are plenty of cameras outside to watch your vehicle. In the end, I ended up paying a little more than I had wanted but he had to replace the slave cylinder because I was being frugal before and bought a cheap product. I've never had anyone service my car other than tire changes. Always done the work myself and was hesitant bringing it here, but all in all, great service. I got my car back after 2 days of repair. They take card but I would pay cash.

I'd read some unflattering reviews about Barr, but I thought if I have my expectations set down in advance, there will be no problems. Mark was upfront about the costs to rebuild my Chevy transmission with 200K + miles on it, he kept me updated every step along the way, the vehicle was ready when he said it would be, and there were no surprise costs at the end. My vehicle goes down the road super smooth, shifts like it should and gets 10% better mileage now than it did, (11mpg vs. 10 before). I had an estimate in writing that we wouldn't go over which I faxed back, and we stuck to it. I have a 2yr, 24,000 mi warranty on my transmission. I'm glad I used these guys, and kept the business in the neighborhood.

Gale Harris 2 reviews…read more14 minutes ago New Great price These guys are the best. A few months ago my brake fluid cap got stuck between hoses & parts under my hood in an unreachable area & they took the time to get it loose for me. Believe me it was NOT an easy job to do & they refused money after all the time & trouble that cap gave them to get it. A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE MECHANICS AT BUDD & CO.‼ From: Gale Harris & her 2007 Kia Spectra

DO NOT RECOMMEND…read more The shop was recently sold and operates under newer ownership, though it continues to operate under the Budd & Company name. I was not aware of the ownership change at the time as it was not something I noticed in the business listing. I brought my car in for overheating issues. A couple hours later I got a message with an estimate for $3k, for some work. They called right away, and I tried to decline some items like spark plugs but was told I would need to do them due to the nature of the repair even though the tech mentioned them as maintenance items. I would def not approve ANYTHING on the phone with them and ask for an invoice over text to approve. Then I'd check what the inspection report says rather than the person on the phone trying to up sale you. Right after approval they also hide their estimates online so you can't see what you approved and you won't see them again, so take screenshots beforehand. I tried asking for it after approval over text and I got crickets. They promised car same day but it wasn't ready until 2 days later (and I was really patient thinking I don't want a rushed job). When I got the car back, something their own inspection report flagged as needing replacement due to oil residue was not replaced (Coolant Reservoir). IMO if you are going to charge $3k to do a bunch of work with the cooling system and coolant you should at least replace a $30 part (Very least clean it) otherwise it will re-contaminate the cooling system they just worked on. Also, a part they flagged as leaking and paid to fix, is just leaking again. I called 10 mins after I got the car back and they said it was fine with the dirty tank. The whole time, I kept mentioning my road trip to vegas and they kept clearing me to drive out there. A week later my car overheated again in Seattle. It was likely misdiagnosed, parts flagged by their own shop needing replacement were not replaced and they took 3 days for something they said they would by end of the day. I'd also look at other public reviews including SureCritic and BBB Listings.
