Not that many Albanian restaurants in nyc. They had outdoor seating. Ordered Ferguese, Kaçkavall cheese, and Spinach byrek. The Kackavall was the most different from what I had as an American, it was melted and flamed cheese came w bread. Albanian version of grilled cheese. Highly recommend the spinach byrek and Ferguese for vegetarians. If you want to try something very different from American culture then try Kackavall. read more

I had the beef Byrek combo and a mocha coffee during lunch time. The Byrek could have used more beef filling, but was good nonetheless. This place is SO cute and fun! Came by with my family on a very, very cold December 23rd and they were so accomodating of our group of 6 in such a small and intimate space. The owner and waiter was so friendly and gracious, and gave excellent recommendations and service. I got the chunks of lamb in a cream sauce, and several of us got the full fish special - all of us had clean plates. Of course, we had to get both of the available flaming cheeses, which were great but got a little too singed. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back. read more

This was such a perfect experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our interactions with one of the owners, who so obviously loves the food and wants to share it. The food itself - my first experience with Albanian food - was delicious. We ordered Kaçkavall, fergese, spinach and beef byreks, and fried sardines. Finally a truly authentic place that serves Albanian fare in Manhattan. The byrek and fergesa are to die for. The owner is very attentive and a great host. The brick wall is adorned with pics from old Albanian movies which gives it a very authentic feel and makes you feel like you're travelling back in time. For now the place is BYOB but hopefully they start serving some Albanian wines soon. They also serve Albanian style coffee and frappes. Highly recommend it and will be back. read more

We waited a very long time for our food and the owner was so busy serving another large table I assumed were his compatriots. Food finally came and only 2 of us ate, the other person in our party ordered a dessert accidentally and the waiter did not explain that to us assuming we knew Albanian dishes. Went here with a friend to grab a bite to eat for brunch on a Sunday. There was a table outside, so we were able to be seated right away. After perusing the menu, we decided to split the Fli combo with beef kafka. This dish was absolutely fantastic. The flavor of the fli was excellent and the beef was out of this world. For my main meal, I went with the Tave Kosi--which was also very good, though not as memorable as that first dish. Overall, all of the food here was really, really good. My one gripe is that it took almost 2 hours for us to complete our meal here because it took so long for the food to come out. The service was friendly and attentive, I just wish we didn't have to wait so long. Nevertheless, it was a great meal as we were not in a hurry and enjoyed the nice weather. read more

They have a pleasant sidewalk seating area for our new Covid times, just away from the busy intersection of 14th & Ave A. Not to forget the lovely owners & friendly service. Their byrek (burek), both meat & cheese, is downright flawless - tasty filling, crispy & not overly greasy; the kebabs are equally good with just the right texture and saltiness. We had a very nice time at the Dua Kafe two weeks ago, nice until the end of the evening when the bill arrived which left us with a bit of a sour taste. The food was good to very good. The staff were nice to very nice. But when we got the bill there was a $5 corking fee added for every bottle of beer. We are not big drinkers but we were a big party. The prices were no bargain but were in the ballpark of proportional to quality. But the $5 per bottle charge felt a bit like a hold up and made it unlikely that we will return. read more

First time at an Albanian restaurant in the US and it did not disappoint!! We ordered a Fli combo with Qebap and also got trout which came with potatoes. Also my favorite part the Byrek!! I normally don't like Byrek with meat but I honestly loved it as much as the cheese one. Also ordered a pomegranate drink with Raki (Albanian version of vodka) and it was so delicious. Also had a peach ivi, that really brought my back to my childhood. Overall the food was really really good. The service did not disappoint! Yeah this place is great. The prices were high and it's maybe not the greatest space for a larger group just because it's so small, but I definitely recommend it if you have one or two friends wanting to join. The owner (?) /waiter was very friendly and helpful. I want him to be my waiter everywhere, and the old ladies in the back kitchen to be my personal chefs.
