Clockwise: match latte, mint tea, rainbow bowl add avocado, kauaian salad add beets
Catherine P.

While on vacation, I was looking for a healthy alternative to all the plate lunch, fast food meals we were having. Fresh bite farm to beach was a convenient food truck located in Hanalei. I ordered the kauaian salad which is a dish with seasonal vegetables. For 10/7/25 the seasonal vegetables were carrots. Wish it could have been purple sweet potato or ulu considering we are in Hawaii. But the mix and added beats for $3 was a good sweet and tangy mix (with the pickled purple onions). I loved the dish because the kale was softened by the honey mustard dressing and tart with the pickled onions. The beets were small but slightly sweetened the dish. The macadamia nuts weren't hard but added a nice crunch. I also got the rainbow bowl for my kids to share and they ended up eating the purple cabbage, avocado, and carrots off the top. The ranch was good, not ranch like but more of an herby Greek yogurt. All good combos. I also got the mint iced tea and matcha latte. The mint iced tea with tulsi mint tea had a very spiced taste. Not a fan of spice (clove/chai) flavors. Service was quick for it being busy. The lady was nice as I ordered. This was the only food truck open around 12 on a Tuesday. The rest in the lot were closed. Parking is located all around hanalei and the day we went was cloudy so it wasn't packed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tables available are bench seats with umbrellas. There is also the bay or beach you can eat at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would recommend this place and if you have certain items you don't like, make sure to ask about what some bowls come topped with.

Matcha- so yummy!!!

Fresh Bite is still an absolute gem of a place! This last time I went, I got the gaucho bowl (surprised?), two sides of fries (1 regular and 1 purple sweet potato) and their honey lavender matcha! The gaucho bowl was very filling- trust me, it doesn't look like it, but it's a large portion. The 2 sides of fries were also very large and we had to take them home as leftovers. The matcha was one of the best I've had while on island! This truck is pricey and the sides of sauce are $2.50 but you are paying for organic quality! I've never had a bad piece of meat or veggie from Fresh Bite - it's the freshest around.

Got a really excellent wrap for lunch and it was delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love this area because there a bunch of food trucks and outdoor seating so everyone can grab what they want and sit together.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fast even with a lot of people ordering! Some of the wraps can be a bit salad heavy though, this one a bit too much arugula but tried a friends it had a bit variety in the toppings. Still a great choice for a nice healthy and refreshing meal!

Buddha bowl and chipotle cheese fries

The chipotle cheese fries were actually just insane. They were addicting and you could just devour them. The buddha bowl on the other hand was disappointing. I got it with quinoa, and it was just so average. It had a lot of potential, but I think it was missing some stuff. It definitely needed tofu, but also probably some more avocado and other vegetables to give it a little something more.

This was the only food truck open at the time that we visited, but I would highly recommend it at any time. Delicious grilled chicken sandwich with a side of some of the best fries I have eaten in a long time. My wife had the Buddha Bowl, which was loaded with vegetables and quinoa. The sauce was delicious, though she could've used a little bit more of it. To get more, you have to buy an extra side of it for $3. Still, no complaints, and the menu has some variety for a food truck. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And since that's what it is, take the food to go or eat it at one of the picnic tables, many of which are covered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They don't do a perfect job of keeping the rain off of you, but they help![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Friendly staff and good food. Can't really go wrong here.

Our order was taken quickly and our food was prepared well and quickly. It was absolutely delicious!! I had a salad and my husband had the beef sandwich!! Everything tasted divine and was very very healthy!! We also indulged in the fries and they were delicious. The house made ranch was superb! Our only complaint was the bugs and chickens but that is the nature of a food truck! If this was a sit down restaurant there would be hour waits to get in. Spectacular!!

Chicken ban mi sandwich, mint ice tea, purple sweet potato fries.

Very reasonable price compared to surrounding restaurants or even other food trucks. Meal was tasty, healthy, and filling after hard swim. Quick, too!

Well made wraps and sandwiches. Friendly service. Your food is made-to-order, there can be a wait. Easy to locate in the food truck area off the main highway in Hanalei. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Shady benches and areas to take the food to consume.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]No frills.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No refills or any real discounts for a second iced tea. Sip slowly while you wait for your food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No shade near the food truck, so many people return to their cars to wait.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

So flavorful!! I have celiac and they were very knowledgeable and had a lot of gluten free options. I got the steak sandwich and splurged for the chipotle cheese fries and a mint iced tea. Everything was beyond delicious and fresh and large portions. I couldn't finish it all even though I wanted to. There was a long line (good reason for that ) but it was worth the wait.

Ulu (breadfruit) fries

This was one of our favorite places to eat on the island during our week-long stay. Unfortunately we were only able to come one time due to our resort being all the way in Poipu. I got the gaucho bowl and it was so good. Husband enjoyed his 808 steak sandwich. We also tried the fries "Jurassic style" and the ulu fries as well. So good! Everything tasted delicious and fresh. Service was fast despite the crowd. Best of all I love that they use clean ingredients! Definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area!

I think the concept is good. Execution is not there. My punch did not taste fruity at all. Fries were not crispy and chicken lacked flavor.

Definitely consider sharing their entrees with another person. We ordered the Churro French Toast and Breakfast Burrito and they were both delicious, but way too big of a portion for one person. Neither of us could finish our food. CONS Barely any seating area inside. There are a few outdoor tables to sit at in the parking lot, but they fill up pretty quickly. We found more success going across the street inside Ching Young Village (the shopping center nearby). This place gets busy, so be prepared to wait. Parking is limited in the actual building and most of them were on a bit of an incline, but Ching Young Village also had several open stalls. While it was delicious, I wish the Churro French Toast tasted more like french toast and less like malasadas. We got the full portion and it was basically like eating 4 malasadas and two scoops of whipped cream cheese frosting. A little too indulgent for a breakfast for our tastes. TIPS Arrive early. We got here at 8:30am on a Saturday and still had to wait over half an hour for our food. Order from the mobile kiosk since it's a shorter line and plan to share with others in your party. Parking and indoor seating is limited, so I recommend ordering your food and then driving across the street to Ching Young Village to eat in one of their outdoor tables.

Has ample free parking in a cute little mall. There are self checkout machines in Princeville but not in the Foodlands I know on Oahu. I took a pic below. The store is clean and well stocked. I did not need to interact with any staff.

Foodland is a Hawaiian original, founded in Honolulu on 1948 as Hawaii's first modern supermarket, and continues to be owned by the founder's family. It has 31 locations across the islands, but only one is still open in Kauai (the Lihue location closed during Covid). It's kinda hidden, so would need to explicitly look for it. It's a medium size supermarket. The poke station and hot deli are located together with the same associates manning both. It was busy and crowded around that area, so important to pull a number and wait. Once my number was called, got seven different items and the associate was patient. My wife doesn't like poke, so made herself a hot lunchbox for a good price (one Korean chicken drumstick at $2.50 each; cheddar cheese tots $2.79 for 0.31 lbs; one corn cob $1.29) while I made a deconstructed poke bowl ($3.38 for 2 scoops of white rice; chili garlic crunch ahi $4.80 for 0.30 lbs; Poke fresh ahi hawaiian style $11.56 for 0.34 lbs; california style ahi $4.80 for 0.30 lbs). My favorite was the California style, with the avocado. It reminds me of the taste of a California roll. Hate to admit it, but paying for almost triple the price for fresh ahi tuna isn't worth it...the from frozen was still great as a poke.
